One of the best places to hear Worcester Cathedral’s bells is my bathroom. I live in Worcester, St Johns, not too far away from the Cathedral. On a Sunday morning I can hear Worcester Cathedral’s bells, St Johns Church bells and the toll of the single bell at St Clements Church.

i read on the internet that the old ring of St Mary le Bow [before it was bombed] was tuned to the notes of these Worcester bells
    Bow bells (1933)
    first: F#2
    second: E2
    third:Es2
    fourth: C#2
    Fifth: B1
    sixth: Bs1
    seventh: G#1
    eighth: F#1
    ninth: E1
    tenth: Es1
    eleventh: C#1
    Bow: B0

Bow as cast in 1933 would have had Gillett and Johnson profiles, and not Taylors like these. So even if the strike notes were about the same, the other notes would not have been the same. Croydon Minster were cast by G&J in 1936 and they sound more like Whitechapel than Taylors.

    Lovely recording.
I love these bells.Know what you mean about the tenor, its the same thing at York.
Stand just above it you can feel the accoustic shock waves as well as hear them.
When you went down close to the bells it sounded like the 5th and 6th that I,could hear clearly.
Certainly the higher pitched bell sounded like an octave above the tenor, hence the 5th..

My local band have problems with neighbors who live next to the church and we only have a peal of 6 and we rarely ring much. They complain thought for no reason!!!

@@fredmills368in the uk they love to complain about every little thing,, but interestingly when i was staying in Dublin the hostal was just across the road from the cathedrsl, christ church cathedrsl and the American receptionist coplained about the bells driving him nuts, that cathedrsl gas the most bells in the world for change ringing 19 in sll although 12 are usually rung at one time otherwise they would be out of kilter!!
