You set the tenor reasonably quickly. I remember I that I was ringing the tenor at romsey abbey and I couldn't set it for around 3 minutes so I passed the rope to the tower captain and even he couldn't set it for another minute. Really strange and the bell was up right. Well done though, my heaviest is the tenor at Winchester cathedral 35cwt.
@@theobellringer6211 as I said if it's too deep you won't get it started Of course the old trick is to bounce it on the stay just before pull off. If you get a chance to to York minster Surely THE most glorious sounding bells anywhere. Partly it's not just the bells but the tower as it is part of the instrument.

Hopefully ringing here in September with my Young Ringers band! So looking forward to it!
Update: I am now definitely ringing there! Only 2 weeks away now!! How well do they go?
Well done on the tenor mate!
Thanks 😊
72cwt is now my heaviest.
My sis has been to that cathedral and she saw the bell ropes and really really old bells in the corridor
I believe at one time those bells made up the old peal of bells held in the tower
Yea I think the same
You did pretty well on that tenor. 48cwt!!! Well done! I’ve only rung 24cwt (heaviest)
Thank you 🙈 it went so well!
theobellringer I can imagine!
Just wow............ hoping to ring here once covid-19 is all over. Lovely hum are they nice bells? 😊
The nicest ring of bells I have rung on!
theobellringer well something to look forward to!
Indeed!
theobellringer what’s the tenor like to ring
It goes extremely well
Don't you mean the tenor is light set??
Heavy bells normally are or you don't because to pull it off balance.
You did a good job.
I think it felt a lot more deeper set than it is as the rounds rung were quite quick, so it took me some time to stand 🤣
