    I bought one a few months ago for my small yard in Florida. I use it twice a week because of how fast the grass grows in southwest Florida during the summer. I have only used the mulching with it and i have no complaints. The best thing about this mower is how light it is. Bought the mower and they gave me a free weed wacker at lowes. If your on the fence about the 40v craftsman lawn mower dont be it is a great machine

    Love this machine. I got sick n tired of gas mowers breaking down and the cost of servicing them could buy you a new machine. This is a really light nice little mower. Just make sure to fully charge the batteries before using or else you will say oh the battery life suck. No the battery life is pretty good

    @microshark79 Craftsman should be sending you an annual check for the reduced returns they have received for this mower. I opened the box and quickly assembled the mower and of course….. when the mower wouldn’t start I thought perhaps I should start reading directions before assembling things.
    After 10-15 minutes I pulled up TH-cam and saw your video. I actually looked for a safety switch and didn’t see that thing! Like many others you saved me some time, a return to the store, and a spike in my blood pressure.

    The blade does not suck the grass up like gas mowers do, the design is just flat on the blade gas mowers have a bend to help suck up the grass to blow it out the shoot. Just not enough power to suck and throw, but yea they do cut.

    I am considering buying this mower because Lowes doesn't have ANY gas push mowers in stock. I LOVE my Honda (gas) mower, but the self-propel just died, and it's too heavy for me to push. I have a BIG yard. I actually need a riding mower, but that's out of my price range. I'm told the Craftsman electric mower is really light without the self-propel. Is the one in your video with self-propel? If so, I'm curious about how heavy it is, and if I'd be fatigued pushing it while mowing a large lawn. I understand I'd only get about an hour on the charge, so I would be getting a break in between mowing. Also, and if you know, does the self-propel drain the battery quicker? You may not know the answers to my questions, but I really appreciated your video. :)

    • @stower82
      @stower82  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes this is the no self propelled in the video. The mower itself is very light . It feels like pushing a adult size playschool kids mower though surprisingly efficient as a gas mower or more.

      @@stower82 Thanks! I actually bought it about a month ago, and I must say I am pleasantly surprised! The cut is excellent! The batteries don't last long enough to cut my entire lawn (which is pretty big), but I also purchased an extra set of batteries. When the batteries die, I just pop them out, put in the other set, and continue mowing. It even cuts wet grass extremely well. So far, I'm happy with the purchase! :)

    Just bought this mower today from LOWES. I put everything together which wasn’t hard at all. I then placed both batteries on their charger’s and the light on one of them continued to blink which meant it needed to be charged and the other battery stayed green which meant it was fully charged. I couldn’t wait to use this mower. Meanwhile I went out and edged and weed whacked the entire yard, sat down with my daughter, drink some water and played with my dog for 2.5 hours and one of the batteries still wasn’t charged. I then got inpatient and hooked both batteries to the mower and mower lasted for 30 mins. This mower will get a 6 on a scale of 1 - 10 from me. I’m going back to gas no matter how high gas is. I move quick so I can have the rest of my time to spend with my family after working 50 + hours a week.

Pop the batteries in, put in the key, push the button and pull the lever and NOTHING HAPPENED. I was pissed so I boxed it up and took it back. I'm sorry you had to return it. The yes I believe most likely it is that which is one of their downfalls but such a simple fix. I read many reviews on this mower before considering buying because of that same issue people were having. I'm almost certain that most of the reviews for it not running when new is this switch causing the problem.

      @@ryker4124 yes I do believe this switch for the handle safety was a problem due to lack of quality control.. the strangest thing is 6 months prior to the release of this mower I had commented to Craftsman that it would be a good idea to use two of 20 volt batteries to achieve 40 volts eliminating the need for awkward oversized batteries so anyone with the 20v tools could also use the lawn mower. @@NoNo-dq4mc yep you lose some and you win some. Yes Mine is still working 2 years strong and hopefully another year. To be honest the only reason I bought an electric push mower is because of all the maintenance and carb rebuilding I had to do all the time to it. Wife used the gas one but I was the one having to rebuild the carburetor or clean it out every year due to her not running it out of fuel for storage like I told her to do several times. Once I bought this one for her she said she would never go back to the gas and quite frankly I'm glad cuz I don't have to fix that thing anymore 🤣🤣🤣

      Unfortunately no replacement blades are sold for this mower. I spoke with Craftsman representative and he said that they do not sell replacements but they do stand behind their warranty. Also ask the representative if I was to remanufacture / copyblade design for resale will it have any copyright infringement. The representative said no as long as it's not labeled Craftsman or OEM. The blade that is on this machine is a lightweight blade thinner than most. I am going to talk to a machine shop to see if I can get this blade copied and mass produced hopefully not for too much money to help out the people in need of these replacements since Craftsman offers no replacements.
