Helped My Wife's Friend MOW Her Overgrown GRASS That Was TALLER Than Me!

- My wife told me that her friend needed help mowing a few sections of her property. When I showed up to look at it, the grass was taller than me in some areas! I decided to tackle the project with my Toro Grandstand Multiforce, even though a Ventrac Toughcut would be ideal for something like this. I made it through the day; however, I ended up getting stuck in one particular area. I used my truck to pull myself out and finish the rest of the mowing. I think it turned out great. She was very thankful and surprised at how well the mower cut everything down into such fine mulch.

I did a Behind-The-Scenes video on this property. Check it out here: th-cam.com/video/R6AWm0lTiSs/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for making me happy with this video

Common name. : western skunk cabbage.
@@pauliewalnuts1949 It does resemble the skunk cabbage that grows near streams up here in the spring.
Ventrac !..Help this man out !..😊
the most satisfying land mowing I had ever seen
Always impressed with the amount of work that 1 battery will do on that stihl trimmer.
I don't watch grass cutting during the winter months ... I watch people plowing snow ... very relaxing.😃
😂
I’m with you on that 👊
I’m really impressed by that mower. That tall part is bush hog territory 100% and the mower did it no sweat.
Bush hog, hell; I'd have said goats~😅 The manufacturers could legit use this video for advertising; _'If it can handle THIS yard, it can handle your yard, easy!'_
I think Toro is one of the best brands you can have. If you can afford it. Great job.
That mower is a beast - and you are the mower whisperer. Cannot believe you could cut such thick, dense, tall grass and shrubs. Hope your beast is still ok. Super job. Lucky owner.
Hi Fill. This flower what you found is a lysichiton americanus. It blooms most yellow, sometimes white.
You did a great job again
Many greetings from the south of Germany
I believe you are right. In that area of Idaho and Washington, it is called Western skunk cabbage.
@@rgrader3691 Yes, that could be right. I don‘t know that name, only the latein name.
In the Texas mud I get stuck quite a bit. I don't even take my trailer off my truck. I just hook the strap to the back of the trailer on a good strong area and ease it out. Works good
Your machine did a great job! With all the bumps, I bet your body needed some tender care that night! Nice to see you helping out a friend.
He has it set too low also.
He is scraping ground
You're a pretty smart guy!...running the mower down the road while using your leaf blower...wonderful idea!
I'm surprised it took that long to get stuck! You are mowing in uncharted territory! Unbelievable! 👍👍👍
I live for the view of the mower cutting a long swath of grass. Totally impressed with your Toro mower and the catcher attachment.
That is really a tough mowing machine! Great job…you are a real Blessing for this lady! 😊
It's great that you can help a family friend.
Great advertisement for Toro mower. It handled that tall " timber " so well.
Amazing what those mowers can cut. Stay safe. God bless you too
Bless your heart for doing this for your wife’s friend. A lot of hard work.
You made it very beautiful as usual, it was nice for to do this for your wife's friend, you have a good heart
As a young man I worked a nature reserve in Pennsylvania. When we were expanding our lawn areas I would use a scythe to cut down vegetation like this…then use a Gravely walk behind tractor mower to finish off the job. That was quite the workout…but I enjoyed every bit of it.
WOW! That went from wild-and-woolly to looking like a boutique, yuppy farm. Well done!
Thank you! 😊
@@fillslawncarehi im from Indonesia always see u vlog❤
You’re 100% right. A @Ventrac with a ToughCut would have been a great tool for that job.
Best Lawn Care videos on TH-cam 👍👍. You are a class act Fill.
GOD BLESS YOU and your family 🙏❤️
Your Toro did an excellent job.
That big leaf plant that you asked about is commonly called a skunk cabbage or swamp lantern.
The plant you were asking about is Skunk Cabbage.
The common names of those large green leaves is skunk cabbage or swamp lanterns. They get bright yellow "flowers" in early spring. AND they come by that first name honestly. They thrive in swamps or very, very wet areas.
Sorry
I agree.
The plant you came across is lysichiton americanus, also called skunk cabbage because it emits a skunky odor when it blooms. Another wonderful job.
how was this not a top comment!
Yes! I was going to say, skunk cabbage!
Good job and God bless 🙏
Happy Wife, happy life 😊
I love what you do for people! As a single mom I know how much the help means. ❤
That is mighty tough grass to cut through, you did a grand job
great job as always fill...that's so nice of you to mow your wife's friend's cousin's mother's aunt's grandma's uncle's brother's father's baby mama's third cousin's friend's co-worker's gas pump attendant's grocery store clerk's great grandma's niece's auto mechanic's football teammate's great grandfather's soccer coach's guidance counselor's p.e. teacher's principal's girlfriend's boyfriend's sister-in-law's second cousin's radio dj's great uncle's aunt...you do great work for real, keep it up dude
I'm impressed with the Toro.
A little machine with alot of power. Great job.
You helped your wifes friend. Happy wife = Happy life.😂
Your wife is lucky to have you helping her friend, a single Mum. You are a hard working young man, you give your best in the work you do, what State in USA do you live; I watch lawncarers from,Florida, Oklahoma, etc. Here in Australia it is Winter, cold but we don’t get snow. Hope you summer weather is nice, thank you and bless you. 🇦🇺
I can just tell how grounded & clean hearted you are.. just from your videos! God bless you
God bless you too
You are a clean cut young man who presents himself well. You do fine work and you care. Great job.
Omg that was a monster of a task. You deserve a medal for this one.
Good Lord, Fill has a Yankum rope - can never underestimate the brilliance of this man!!! Love you Fill, you are amazing!! Big - over six feet tall thumbs up :) 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks Peter :)
No skipping ads in appreciation for what you do , many thanks!!
I appreciate that!
Blades cut thru most of that stuff easily. Toro just took it up a notch. and that stuff was, shall i say, Moist. so made cutting even harder. and for all us with ADD and Anxiety, this video was very relaxing.
thank you much, and for helping your friend.
💯 out of 💯 Approval and approved by BRAD 💪🤝🤜🤛👊✊✊ SHARP & BEAUTIFUL GRASS
You and your toro plowed thru a lot of grass great job Phil!❤️
Her property is beautiful! Being that she's out in the country thought the driveway looked really nice before cutting it! Personal preference, I know. It must be so nice living without neighbors right next to you. Fill, you always do such a nice job!
Good job. Enjoy your videos. Thank you
You need to rent or buy one of those big XTC monster things, for that kind of brush.
My, my. What a day dad had!
Wow that grass was so thick and tall you did a great job on it 😊
Hello Fill this is what i found about this plant its name is (Lysichiton) you are doing a great job Hi to you and your family 😀👋
Fill, one thing you CAN say for sure, is that your riding mower is built for heavy-duty applications without a blink of an eye, can handle tough jobs with ease! Good product choices!👍😁🤓😇!
Wow,..that is some tall grass,..but what an awesome job you have done,..it looks so nice now,..and you always do such a great job,..it is kind of a bumpy ride
thought i was having deja vu when watching this video lol
that was a big job, a lot of work, not surprised your mower got stuck in that, it looked nice afterwards ..
These videos relax me a lot haha, it's double work you have to cut and also be aware of filming everything (sorry if it's misspelled, I don't speak English) 👐❤
You do good work, that Toro is a good machine, usually a brush mower would work well also. 👍
Fill, you are the man, if you didn't get stuck every now and again you wouldn't be a true lawn explorer, its OK. I'm very proud of you, I know what regaining lawn is like, I was raised on farms and the mowing and expanding the lawn was a every year project, it's nice to see how far you did get. Lots of love. Be safe. Afriend.
Getting stuck at least once is an unwritten rule.
Love you Fill.
Good job! ❤
You needed that machine that Al Bladez used in his last video. Still done a dang good job man.
@Ventrac....because he deserves one! Nice job Fill! Love how your toro gets right up next to the fence as close as it does.
33:06 what a difference watching this compared to the plus channel. It’s interesting to know the inside scoop. Thank you so much ❤
I'd love to see Al Bladez with his new machine tackle this job left over. Awesome!!!
You are incredible!
Job well done
The Toro did a good job ! It looks great , that was very high grass ! Look forward to more ! Take care !
U did a great job!!
The large-leafed water plant is skunk cabbage showing the seed stalk after the flower stage. Skunk Cabbage is one of the earliest wild flowering plants to emerge from the ground after winter snows begin to melt. This plant loves standing water swampy areas.
I remember mowing grass like this with a push mower back in the 80s. That's a tough little machine.
I would have started with the trimmer then chopped it all up with the mower.
That was one hell of a catch at the 11:25 mark! As for the rest of the video, I'm impressed your machine was able to handle grass that wet and tall as well as it did. That's some skill to only get stuck once. Super job!
Thanks for the notification ! Good Sunday morning to you . Here in Florida is about 95 hot and watching you with a hoody on? LOL makes me hot. That red technology looks good on you too Ha! Bravo on the transformation.
I Love the glimpse of the blue sky and clouds 😊
They didn't need a mower, they needed a controlled burn!🔥
You might want to think about getting one of those brush hog type mowers for these types of yard/property challenges like this one. Your Toro did a pretty darn good job in it though. You made her property look so clean & tidy! 👌👍👊🤟
Wonderful work fill my man
Just want to say you do such a good job every time. Love your videos.
WOW... tall grass. Beautiful place. You did not disappoint, as usual. Great job. ♥
Wow Fill! That was amazing to watch. Your wife mentioned the props of her friend, you said okay and we got to watch it all unfold 😊. Thank you ❤️🇦🇺🇺🇸
Great job!!
You are such a blessing. Thank you for being a wonderful blessing.
That was a behemoth mowing job but you knocked it down & made that area of the property look clean & tidy. Looking forward to the rest of the property looking the same as this clean & tidy part looks. 👌 👍👊🤟
Good Morning 😃
Toro did a great job. Beautiful area.
Fantastic job Fill! Have a blessed Sunday!😊
What an awesome job. Great job for a person in need. Looking forward to the others on this yard. God bless you and your family.
Огромная загородная территория! Представляю, сколько там ещё работы. Удачи, Фил!
That is one heck of a big job! I sure hope she appreciated the fantastic job you did.
Fantastic job. Can't wait to see part 2. God bless you.
Great job with the equipment that you had on hand.
Watching your last couple of episodes on both channels, I can tell you that you had at least two 6' rolls of hay. Unless that was switch grass, tell your customer to get a small herd of steers.
I thought this property looked familiar at the start -- it's the "cougar on the loose" property.
Great job, Fill!!😎👌👍
Hi Fil! I'd say your big brute did a great job on the high grass! You know the secret of only mowing up to one half pass at a time. That is so the ground up grass has somewhere under the deck to go. It looks great and the traffic can see better in front now!
Al Blaze is in Florida. Do no know if he will travel. But what you did do is super.
Toro is a great machine, there is a Toro dealer near me, and his business is always busy with new customers, current customers. Keep up the good work, and if you are going to keep doing field/ country areas, you might want to get one of those Vent-Tracks, justa thought. Great job!
That Toro is a beast. I'm impressed!
Omg, that truly was a reclamation! A brush cutter definitely would help. Yes, Al Bladez just got one. But your Toro did an amazing job. And how are you? You did some serious bouncing in some areas. It looks great. Far better than before you cut it. Nice work!
Watching from Philippines, such a huge transformation with at the proper tool of mover thay you have. Hats off as well for helping not only the community but at the same time your extended friend. By the way, I would like as well to commend on your new hair cut are well by cutting your beard. You look more younger looking. Regards to your family and god bless us all.
Wow that was fun 😀! I thoroughly enjoyed going on that ride with you and the property looks great 🙌🙌🙌💯💚💚💚
31:01 It appears to be a Lysichiton, which is an aquatic plant that tends to grow around pond edges or other damp areas and flower in the Spring. They grow in clumps and are highly invasive, which is why you see them all over. 😊
Great work! That’s a challenging lawn.
That was a huge job. Well done.
I think what you pointed out could be Skunk Cabbage. If it is, it’s considered poisonous for humans, cats, dogs, and other mammals.
I believe you are right. It's Western skunk cabbage from what I can see from the plant.
Skunk cabbage is not poisonous. It's edible.
@@obryan240 it definitely is toxic to humans
That property was a respectable test of your metal and your equipment’s metal. Thanks for showing some steel and some Stihl. Well done.
Mettle
@@GuyWithTheDogs You are correct, I stand corrected. Thank you.
