The recent print I bought was all cardboard and wood. No plastic. Not unimportant these days. This is push -your -luck in it's purest form. But also value assesment. A climber on path 2,3,11 or 12 is perhaps too valuable to risk, even if you have climbers on path 6, 7 or 8 to lessen your risk.
Holy crap, they reprinted this!? My parents still have the old version, and I used to love this game, but I'd never seen it for sale anywhere. It's a great push-your-luck game, very simple to learn, for anyone here wondering how it plays.
You always split the dice into pairs and combine to make two totals. So for instance, rolling 1, 1, 4 and 6 means you can either make 1+1=2 and 4+6=10 or 1+4=5 and 1+6=7. So it's possible, however unlikely, to make a 2 or a 12 if you manage to get at least 2 1's or 2 6's.

My parents played this game a lot with there friends from before i was born. When I was old enough this was the game that taught me probability.
For information purposes, BGG says it was released in 1980.
Correct, Parker Brothers published the game in 1980. It doesn't go back to the 50s or 60s.
This game is fantastic. One of my favorites on BGA- plays in 7 minutes and it's soooo fun!

One of my favorite childhood games.
11yrs. 101k views later and here I am thinking, should I buy this.... Some games clearly last the test of time
How do you roll a 2 using 4 d6 dice?

This is a great game! The expansion is cool too! 🙂👍 Great review!
Sid Sackson = Great Game Designer
Looks like a good game, but - at least in the UK - WAY too expensive for what it is.
