You have insightful commentary on these videos, but I have to admit, a part of what brings me back is watching you die a little inside whenever you watch Josh break stuff

The best part is not only did they patch it out, they "patched" in a wanted poster for Josh lmao
They've made homages to other Hydroneer TH-camrs, too. Drae, who managed to flip the truck nigh-constantly, got his name etched on the bottom of the vehicle. Real Civil Engineer gave a scathing review of the bridge to Bridgepour, and they added his score to the side of one of the uprights.

The thing to always keep in mind with Josh is behind the apparent madness, is TERRIFYING genius. Pared with Godly levels of tenacity. If he and The Spiffing Brit ever teamed up it would collapse the universe.

It might've been Satisfactory. Josh (ab)uses Lizard Doggos to get rid of nuclear waste by putting it into their inventory and then chucking them down a cliff into oblivion XD

It’s not a game where he exploits bugs, but it’s one of Josh’s favorites because his commentary is *chefs kiss*.
React content is a huge part of future entertainment that a lot of people and corporations really haven't caught on to yet. Seeing experts break down things that are interesting is pretty much always entertaining to a lot of different kinds of people. In this case it's not even an expert, just someone checking out something that we enjoy, and even that is enough.
I have watched that one over and over. The metric for how amazing a vid will be is how often Josh laughs in it. The longer the better.
personally i love tank mechanic sim. that demon jeep was one of the funniest things ever.
When the Dev fixed the shoplifting bug, They also added a Wanted Sign for Let's Game It Out. If you buy the game now the sign is there for everyone.

Yeah, they patched almost all exploits he discovered, but that's the difference between a big dev team with a publisher and an indie team, they don't necessarily have playtesters that find this stuff

The funny thing about this is the Dev for Hydroneer saw the stuff LGIO was doing and if you go into the game now there is a wanted sign up for LGIO
Your commentary is great, it's nice to have a view of how and why things could be breaking (and also watching you slowly come around to Josh's way of thinking is always fun). Also, I grew up in Eastern WA myself, and remember there was a quarry near the fair grounds that had hit the water table, though I don't think they turned it into a swimming hole.
I have watched LGIO’s Hydroneer vids multiple times apiece, but I never noticed the pickaxe/bulldozer discrepancy until you pointed it out. Cracked me up!

Hydroneer physics is pure chaos that makes me cry when I'm playing but laugh when others are playing.
Fun fact: the devs actually added LGIO as an Easter egg. On the furniture-shop he stole those thrones from, there is a wanted poser that has his channel logo as the mugshot.
You’ll be happy to know that there is an item in the game now that is a magnet on a stick, which pulls in the gems and minerals nearby. That way you can clean up your sites when needed. :) Loved the video!

BTW, to assist in performance, loose objects will lose their physics after a set time. So he's able to make horrifically massive stacks of items with lowered impact to the computer outside of visual rendering, which ends once the object is out of view, exception being if it has a script or something running like with miners and stuff, but I think they're just calculated which is much cheaper until you need to render all of it.
Edit: oh and when things are in something like a bucket or cart, they're just considered part of a parent object (Container) so outside of rendering, or whatnot, they're not too complicated to exist and not kill your computer

Since I found the reaction for the let's game it out raft extravaganza, the algorithm showed me they were were some other creators doing reactions to that.

My favourite lgio line was in a planet coaster video where he talked about his computer's ram. The planet coaster ones are all great. The zoo ones are the most impressive imo because I know how irritating that game is to build in, but definitely not for you because virtual animals absolutely get hurt lol
I absolutely love the commentary. I've been a hobbyist game developer for years, and I love looking at the backend of how things work. Seeing someone else comment on that is amazing to me.
Personally one of my favorite moments in this game is when I set my shovel down, and the thing is with this game, is that if you set something a little too close to another item, that said item will fling off into the sunset, never to be seen again, and now you know what happened to my shovel guys 🤣 had to buy a new shovel, and I never did ever find that darn shovel, so my best guess is that it flung aaaaaall the way across and right off the map…. Was honestly quite hilarious in retrospect, but also annoying 🤣😅😆

I actually bought Hydroneer based on LGIO's videos, and I can confirm that the beginning of the game is pure slog. The fishing is 100% the most fun part of it lol, they added a quest system to get upgraded fishing poles at some point and I found it kinda fun to work through that. Haven't booted the game up since though.
Please keep watching these videos in order. Its very entertaining to see what else he does as the devs try to contain his madness
LGIO is the sole reason for a number of games in my library..... so fun to see the effort it takes him to make the stuff.

Ive actually been to that quarry swiming pool you are talking about. Its actually fairly fun.
The devs literally put in a wanted poster for Lets Game It Out in Hydroneer...
They made some changes in the game, that mining vehicle is no longer in game, and you have to make your own mining drills and harvesters in a new area. That new area is like an underground dwarven city with an underground mine you can buy, I've been working on digging it out with a shovel (and saving everything I get from it to see how much I end up with).
Yes, "lets game it out" is one of my favorites (and Gray still plays). And you sir, just got subbed.

I just found your channel through the LGIO Subnautica reaction video and I've really enjoyed it so here's a sub.
The Dev's of Hydroneer took his saved games and built the better product off of it. They even put a "wanted" sign in the final product with Josh's channel. In memory of his shopping sprees.

bro that quarry is where i used to live. i used to live at the base of mount waldo at the top is that quarry. also there were at least 2 deaths per year there because people would dive in and hit rocks that were sticking out, so its not really a safe swimming pool....
If I remember right, the devs of Hydroneer added in a wanted poster for Josh after he made that video. You want someone to find the bugs in your game, give Let's Game it Out or The Spiffing Brit a key to your game, they will find the worst bugs possible and exploit them till the game begs for it's life.

Not only did they fix that shoplifting exploit, they also added a wanted poster for him in game.
Josh is a master at the game "is there a limit" and will spend hours for the sake of it. He does figure out a quicker way of stealing more stuff in later videos by just putting a lot of objects on a wooden pallet he owns and then selling that. But the developers fix this stealing method by making the scrap price on these objects almost nothing
Honestly, I think half the reason Josh doesn’t make his automations 100% efficient is literally for the sheer chaos of just throwing things around semi-randomly
Yeah from watching other people play this transportation is definitely the biggest pain in the ass*. Speaking of which Real Civil Engineer did a Hydroneer video where he exploited a bug to make a bridge out of dead fish.

Didnt know abt the channel before reacting to Lets game it out , Been a fan of Josh and im happy other ppl like his content as much as i do! , will prob stick with this channel as it makes content of similar games and had similar likings!
They key early game is to dig deep quick :D and use the rake to make stairs down! I love this game! However, I do also love the hours it takes to dig out a mine shaft... Good luck.

There was also a bad mistake in some mine in USA, where they've dug under a lake and drained it all into the mine. Even ships on the lake were drained into the mine. Very bad and costly engineering mistake...

A game you should look into is Gold Rush. You have so much to mess with in there, and if you get the DLC you have a huge vehicle with a conveyor belt on it that you can use to move dirt from one place to where your machines are.

The mine/quarry your thinking of is probably the one where a salt mine got drilled into by another mining company drilling for oil. Due to a miscalculation in where the mine shafts were located they drilled straight into the salt mine
The quarry is in Tenino, WA. It is called the Tenino Quarry Pool.

2:57, That's actually the slow way of using the pan, just leave the pan in the river, it auto waters as a result, just dump the dirt on top instead of the water on top :)
If you want something with mining and paving, Astroneer has a pretty fun system of vehicle modules.
In minecraft I'm a fanatic of digging and living underground places for me being burrowed below is beneficial due to the fact you avoid alot of things
If your friend loves digging you should tell him to try Gold Rush. It isn't multiplayer, but it's basically a realistic version of Hydroneer. I think it was even made by the Discovery Channel. Also it has bulldozers and dump trucks.
A pick doesn't dig faster, but it can make digging faster.
Like, picks don't dig anything. They break up dirt so that you can shovel it out. If you want to dig a hole quickly (irl), you cycle between the pick & the shovel.

the video is 2 years old and shop lifting doesn't work anymore. items now despawn as soon as they leave the area in some way when they aren't paid. that means putting them into the car doesn't work too. and they made it that you can't push items around anymore once they settled on one point.

Hi! I think you would really enjoy the game Astroneer!! Its an open world game where you collect resources and craft machines to travel to other planets and stuff!! It has a lot of automation, vehicles (including a bulldozer/drill vehicle) you can freely dig/manipulate terrain, and recently they released the rails update which added trains!! It has unlockable tiers, progression, research, and all the good stuff you seem to really like :D The automation even goes into logic, using special switches and sensors to do complicated logic circuits and stuff if you want !!
It seems like a game you would really like and I don't see any of it on your channel :D

there's an old quarry that flooded around my town and people swim there too. Though I'm pretty sure its not legal at least were I live.
