I didn't actually. It was hilarious. Like my favourite show, Crazy Ex Girlfriend, where no matter how many times I watch it, I still need to stop halfway through most episodes because the cringe is painful.
I regret to inform you, Mr. Bobcat, that as a veteran Magic player myself (so veteran that I know to call myself a MaTaG fan), there is one mistake in this video. I know in that in some parts of the world they spell "colour" as such, but here in the U.S. of A. there is an extra "u" such that it is spelled "coulour". Thus the "5 colours"/"wooberg" deck should be called a "5 Coulours"* deck instead.
Actually colorless decks are often called mono brown decks. This is because, due to a manufacturing error, many of the popular older artifacts like time vault, grim monolith, and even some printings of black lotus were known to cause indegestion when eaten.
I can't say I know who chorb is, but a few of my play groups have used it due to the older style boarder of colourless cards which was of course brown. Thus a deck without colour which was almost all artifacts (predating eldrazi) was largely made up of brown cards. This may well be a well made lie, but if enough people use it, then surely it's as valid as any other name?
I can confirm that they did used to be called mono-brown decks because the artifact borders were brown. I haven’t heard as many people use that term these days, but it hasn’t died out.

Because truthfully, you make both yourself AND your opponents want to play anything _but_ Magic the Gathering sitting at the table.
Oh fair enough. I'll make a note
I did not realize this was a joke until it got to two colors.
That's better than some people honestly. I got some hate for this upload haha
2:20 there is also the Dune-brood nephilim, I am confused how you didn't notice it! But yeah, it's not the only card printed with Dune.
I have felt immense pain after watching this.
You're welcome?
It's nice to finally know the origins of their name. Now I can finally explain them to my friends
That's what I'm here for!
The fact WGR is full of cat tribals decks on EDHrec makes that Nyan joke really on point
Thank you, thank you
I made a Kevin deck once. It wasn’t actually white-blue, I just named it Kevin for fun.
That's how I've always done it too
more impressive than this super informative well researched and presented video is the fact this guy apparently personally responds to every single comment
I vote we name white-blue "red" in honor of bobcat
I humbly accept this. I cannot wait for it to catch on in the wider community
insanity that this didn't come out April 1st
A few people said that. I'm honestly not sure why...
Didn’t think anything was wrong until you called mardu savai
I've been told I may have made one or two mistakes, yeah
Blue and White Decks actually have a name, but it's not used in tournament legal magic due to the origin. They're called Widget decks, from the Order of Widget in the Unstable magic set.
Oh! I think you legally have to let WotC know if you've cracked it a deck with those colours
Huggbees descends further into madness than that so you still have a ways to go
Okay, i watched like 40 seconds of that Megadeth video and I'm clearly going to have to subscribe
I was expecting a serious video but this was a million times better
Haha, thank you
My favourite decks are probably Forbidden 3 or Kevin. Lorwyn made me love merfolk, and I have multiple merfolk decks included a Forbidden 3 "burn" deck with no red in it what so ever but that's mostly a stupid infinite combo and pinging for 1 damage, and the good ol' "You won a free cruise" combo that gives their creatures a free cruise on the [War Barge] giving them island walk, and [Merfolk Assassin] to kill them for having islandwalk.
Shame it's banned now. That's really rough to hear, I feel for you
They call it WUBRG because your playgroup asks "Why U BRingin' Grief?"
Some people have been saying it's because of the colours, but obviously that would spell WBBRG so I know they're wrong
Are you OK? I’m concerned didn’t tell you not to inhale the helium?
Yeah I'm as fine as ever. No one's looking over my shoulder, no sir. Everything here is fine!
I had to do a double take on the date... nope not released on April 1st! (Missed opportunity.)
I dunno. People expect it then
fortunately i had forgotten all color combinations in magic right before seeing this video. thank you kind youtubeman
You are welcome!
What a joy of a video
It was fun to make too
I came into this video expecting a dry and factual info but I'm so happy I was wrong. The Wuubrg joke killed me.
Haha, you're welcome!
My favorites are when you get the wrong equation but the right-ish answer! This is why showing your math is important, kids
Someone said something similar about my Salt-Eye deck
This is simultaneously a massive troll and a work of informative art at times. 15/10
Haha, thank you
Im at work right, found this channel and put it on while driving. Put this video in queue. Im literally 80% through before realizing this is a joke. Like when you mentioned golgari being banned. Bravo
Haha, thank you thank you
This effort deserves a reward. It turns out I have recently come into possession of a Brainstorm card from 1995. I think it is the original version. It's in terrible shape., almost falling in half, but it's yours for the claiming.
Oh wow! You should sell it, maybe get it signed by Chorb first? I bet it would be worth a fortune!
@@RedBobcatGames It's worth a tidy little sum. Probably over three dollars!
@@RedBobcatGames Chorb said no. But I can still send you your prize!
July 1st is known as Canada Day, because it’s day that we celebrate things that we want to be real but aren’t, just like Canada.
Lovingly written from somewhere north of the US border.
Well then happy Canada day to you!
After the furry takeover at wotc, blue-white is known as bird, white-black is bat, blue-black is rat, blue-red is otter, black-red is lizard, black-green is squirrel, red-green is raccoon, red-white is mouse, green-white is rabbit, and green-blue is frog. We can finally speak of Squirrel Yawgmoth instead of calling it the banned daddy.
All hail Squirrel Yawgmoth
I'm new and I'm lucky to have been following along with a reference picture to get the joke early lol
I don't know it's any better that way honestly haha
Very informative, thank you
You're welcome
the esper mind blower at 520
Yeah, that one not a lot of people know at all I don't think
