Hey bro so I haven't seen much jitter in the sticks response, but I do have a controller(,Victrix gambit) that has a lot of jitter in the aim. This adapter might smooth that out as it's just outputting dualsense algorithm with, still a valid test. I'll try and do this and see how it holds up. Will pin this comment so I can come back to it, thanks.
@@thephototechy does gyro work thorugh this adapter? like if switch/ps4 controller is used with this adapter will gyro work in games like Fortnite, CoD, The Finals etc?
I'm so eagerly waiting for that bro. TMR with Gamesir algorithm sounds amazing. I'm hoping the boosted performance is still there with report rate option.
The new G7 PRO will have everything the G7 HE got, but it will also have a wireless option, mouse-click trigger stops, 4 back buttons up from two and the sticks will be the new TMR technology = 10x more resolution of a Hall Effect stick and still keep the normal Hall Effect benefits = fine aiming and small aim adjustments becomes so much better because of TMR sticks. GameSir will show it at CES 2025 January the 7 👍🏻
First of all thanks for your work man. I played with the Victrix pro bfg almost since its release as my modded Dualsense died. Now my Victrix is slowly dying too, so I bought a Vader 4 pro and this adapter. Honestly it's another world to me, sticks are so much better and it seems quicker doing inputs, but unfortunate I can't test it. I think even if the adapter would add some latency I would go with Vader 4 + FGC2 combo. I'm curious to try my old modded DualShock 4, to me the most comfortable controller ever made. I think comfort is much more valuable that having less latency (obviously if it's in 10/20 ms range, not more).
Hey bro any chance you could plz share the settings on Vader, like the resolution output adjusted and stuff. I do think controllers like the Vader and Big Big won where one can actually adjust the sampling points would work best. As my V3 TE has lower resolution compared to dualsens and an uneven one at that, the experience was not that great for me. I'm definitely thinking of picking up the Vader 4, just to use with this adapter on PS5
@thephototechy tell me what can I do. Honestly I don't know which software you use to test controllers nor how to set it. Tell me what to do and I'll do my best 😉
@MrElios300 hey bro so there is a flydigi software that allows one to set custom aim output, even change the sampling points, so one can have a dualsense feel or an Xbox controller like output. I'm actually really keen on testing that and definitely wants to get that controller just to try this feature. You already mentioning that you are using it successfully, definitely makes me think it's the best option for this adapter
@@thephototechy I've used recommended settings for PC use, so : debounce on, automatic calibration on, accuracy 12 bit, polling rate 1000hz, center sensitivity fast, rebounce algorithm off. Honestly I didn't notice a big difference between Circle and Rectangle circularity algorithm. There's a slight difference but not so noticeable. Then on the adapter I use a Thumbstick scaling ratio of 1.02 to get full coverage of motion with an average error of 1.3% in circle and 11~13% in rectangle. Honestly I didn't test other settings, nor polling rate nor joystick accuracy.
I read on Reddit that using P5Mate from Besavior (250hz or 500hz) and XIM Matrix (1000hz) causes desync and input latency spikes. I'm really interested to know the real FGC2 polling rate on PS5, but I don't know how to test it. As far as I know the Dualsense has a polling rate of 250hz on PS5, so maybe it would be the best option. Same for joystick accuracy, maybe the best option is 8 bit. I don't know...
ive seen some mention this adapter can also be used on xbox for controllers such as fly digi? seems its likely too much of a compromise with the g7 pro on the horizion but its frustrating that we are still at a point where these 3rd party controllers cannot be used on console even wired.
Hey bro so there is an Xbox version which I'm seriously thinking about getting, as I think it might not be converting the aim output. Also latency might feel much better on Xbox as well, definitely thinking of picking that one and testing some of the controllers I've been missing so far.
Hey bro, so far I've only tried the Ksilver older sticks which definitely needs much different aim settings compared to normal potentiometer for me at least. So in COD I have to use linear aim response with higher sensitivity on HE sticks. Normal sticks I can dial the dynamic curve and feel much more connected that way. Now I've been able to adjust to the HE sticks, specially Gamesir ones with boosted performance through higher report rate on Xbox series x. I've just got a modified dualsense from HYPR and that one is using the Gulikit TMR sticks, I also have the Hex Phantom with their HE sticks, those are the ones I'm testing next, I've already done their latency tests just have to go through the results, but I try and do that after some game time. I'd say if you are willing to put the time and some effort to find the aim settings for HE sticks, then they make a lot of sense as I've put so many hours of my G7SE/HE and apart from lose tension of the springs, the sticks perform exactly how they were new.
Yes Hall effect is much more accurate and smooth to use than potentiometer. Once used to Hall effect u will never want to go back. Much more responsive to with the dead zones being eliminated or made very low
This is great. The ps5 controller hurts my hand so bad so I just bought a Xbox today because this video! Thank you phototec! I was wondering if this was going to be not really any latency because I am a competitive gamer and I play Black ops six in Valorant. But clearly it does add a decent amount of latency. I just always wonder why Sony is so limited in controller options and how they can have faster polling rates on their controllers but even in elite series 2 averages like seven frames have you ever figured out why
Hey bro thanks for all the support! So I was reading about DLI on Xbox consoles where there's an algorithm which predicts when the game will be needing the input from controller and controller sorta doing the same thing, but the limitations of the DLI is 125hz max. I really want to get a modified Xbox controller and put some game time on it and do some tests against third party controllers which are 250hz at base and probably don't have DLI functioning. I can effectively use my elite series2 but really hate that play it has in the middle, feels so awkward to move the stick even at the tightest tension, I personally don't like that tension adjust feel at all.
10/10 video👍🏻 I plan to use it with the GSirCyclone 2, t4, and Apex 4 if I get it. What is your guess as to how long it will take for Sony to ban this device?
Hey bro I'm thinking of getting the cyclone 2 but with the xbox adapter and see if the xbox one performs better with no added latency, as thoreticaly the conversion of the output might not be there. Now that ban is definitely a possibility, I'm hoping we can keep the functionality with an update from brook.
I have a v2 and v1 but hate the back button designs, I've heard good things about this controller should I make the upgrade from my victrix gambit? I won't get the bfg gambit cause 125 polling cap and yeah
Hey bro, so not gonna lie, the Thrustmaster SH5 module kinda disappointed me a bit. The deadzone introduced with the update definitely harms the performance. I'm still going to pick it up very soon as my local Argos has it now 😂. Im a bit confused as for the same price I could get Cyclone 2 and brook Xbox adapter, might have to pick all these at the same time 😂
Hey bro so I've only done tests with high speed recording of the screen, but testing DLI will be tricky for me. I do, however feel Xbox controller with 125hz can feel better than some 250hz controllers on series x. I think that's because of DLI and DLI limit is 125hz I believe. In a previous test of mine Xbox elite series 2 averaged 7.47 frames and never gave a 10 frame result. I'll test it again against some other controllers too, but BO6 definitely has better controller feel on Xbox for me.
Hi man, love your work, I would love a suggestion, I have a gamesir g7se, and I'm thinking to switch to the wolverine v3 TE, would you recommend it? I prioritize precision but now I stopped playing claw cause I'm not precise.
Hey bro thanks for all the support! I'd say if you need more than 2 back buttons then V3 TE is definitely one to beat right now. Specially if you are on PC, it has a true 1000hz mode, but that 1000hz doesn't work on Xbox as I've tested it a few times now(might make a video). Still the standard performance on Xbox is very good just doesn't feel the same for aim as my G7SE/HE in 1000hz on Xbox. But the extra buttons can help a lot and definitely an advantage over Gamesir options

I am trying to think about a reason for an adapter to introduce "added" jitter, and the is no logical reason for that, as it just translates.
