Knee pain (can’t straighten knee) on Sunday that required GP on Monday. They refered me to physio and that’s it. After this video , I’ve tried the exercises and the pain was gone after 3 days. This is crazy
No pain straightening but kneeling or bending knee back is where I feel stiffness & pain. Have you a video covering this? Finding your excercises very helpful. Thankyou
Thank you so much I had a knee replacement May 7th 2024 and this is fantastic information I would love to see a knee not straight like mine to compare , mine is really bad after sergury.
@Ceceanne19 Hello I've been getting therapy 3 times per week it hasn't really straightened out yet I'm miserable because my leg was straight before sergury.
@@barbaradonald9497 I’ve been doing my own therapy by watching videos. They all are the same. The best and most advice I’ve gotten is to walk walk walk! And stretching! Good luck.
My dads leg cant go all the way dow for some random reason if you know can you let me know. It will help alot since it has been hurting for about 7 years .
The particular band in the video is the purple band, weighted at 35-85lbs, it is 82 inch (208cm) in length. I've had lots of dislocations to the knee I can't straighten my knee at all it's so painful. I've tried lots of different options but it's so weak have you any advice?
Hey Linda, multiple dislocations sounds awful, i am so sorry you're dealing with this pain. Sounds like your ligaments are significantly damaged. Have you had scans? Rehabilitation? Has surgery been suggested? If the knee is unstable and weak, something more than exercises needs to be done.
@@ChiroCarl I had an mri scan but it was incomplete waiting to get another one done. I've had knee problems since I was 11, it's always been really weak and would happen every easily. But I am at physiotherapy with covid it's been really long and I've just sorta been left the last 6 months, I think the last resort is knee surgery. Anything to do with my knee leaves me physically sick. Thank you for your reply your page is great 👍
Have you had a diagnosis for whqt they think is happening? I hope the world returns to normal soon and proper scans and rehabilitation can be done. It sounds like surgery could be beneficial for you but i am interested as to what they have diagnosed so far.
Had a avulsion on the bone which is connected to the acl in my knee. Luckily acl was not torn but the bone was fractured the surgeon said when they did the surgery everything was fine so they cleaned up and stitched it back up. I had the surgery done 1 month after the football injury. Now 2 weeks following the surgery I can walk but my knee wouldn’t straighten fully so I have a limp. I can’t match the hyperextension with the uninjured leg. It like it’s stuck to a certain level I don’t know if this is normal but I am trying extension excersies and seem like the knee just wouldn’t hyperextend if it did I would be able to walk properly. On the other hand the Bend on my knee is coming back slowly even without excerising it. It’s way past 90 degree now. Do you have any suggestions if this is normal or not.
Forgot to mention during the surgery they said the bone was healing on its own so they left it however the acl was a bit loose but they said with physio it should be fine if not then I might need full acl reconstruction
I subluxated my patella and tore "non wait bearing cartilage" (meniscus i believe, on the outide of right knee). I had an arthroscopy a few years ago, but its always been stiff and restricted since. I was sitting with my leg folded yesterday, and upon getting up my leg wouldn't straighten. I get pain in the outside/back of my knee when straightening. I have no insurance and really need my leg to work right now. Do you think this exercise will help in my specific case? Feeling so panicked
This sounds more like a chiropractic approach than physical therapy. I need something that I can do for a home remedy since I can't see one in my situation at all.
Abdul, for proper, tailored care an initial assessment would need to be done as there are many factors that could be the cause of your painful knee symptoms. You should locate a professional near you to get the care you deserve.
Hopefully you have been offered physic therapy rehabilitation. My opinion on this, is 6 days is still very recent, you should see increase in range of motion as you begin to heal more. I personally would be taking my knee through its current full range of motion every day, which will ensure, as it heals, that you don't heal in a restrictive way due to pain or discomfort. Take your time, don't force anything, do not move into pain, discomfort of about 2/10 is ok, but dont do too much, too quickly. Just to note, i don't work a lot with post surgical knee rehab, so this is my opinion as to what i would do in your situation, i would advise talking to your post surgical rehabilitation team for further advice.
Im 6 weeks post op ACL and meniscus surgery. Im doing leg extensions at home and walking with a walker. I am scared if something is wrong because when I put pressure to straighten the knee its very stiff and painful and when i release the tension the knee wants to pop and does like a big pop. My knee is poping in all different places too when i work it. It makes me very uncomfortable as if my knee is really messed up now.
It sounds like you need to talk to your surgeon and rehab team who should have been helping you recover from the surgery, guiding you and answering any questions you had.
I've tried the exercises but it's my leg that will not lay flat I can bend my knee i but not straighten my leg.My knee will not go down as low as the right one when I try to lay the left leg down.
If these simple tips don't get the job done, its a sign that you need a hands on assessment and advanced imaging to get a better idea about the problem you have.
How did you make out? I injured my knee a couple weeks ago and can't get it straight and I also can't bend it to 90 degrees. Waiting on an MRI but there's a huge wait in socialist Canada.
Today morning When I do suryanamaskar yoga.. my knee twisted and knock sound came.. am ok for 12 hours and now it is paining severely near my front inner knee.. I cant straighten and bend.. pls help me🙏 what should I do now?
Firstly, your injury is very new, therefore, very painful. Ice the area if it feels warm to the touch and continue to use your knee in a slow, steady manner. Without examining you, it could be a medial ligament injury or a meniscus injury. You should see a physiotherapist for a hands on assessment.

Virgil, it sounds like you have been through a lot, you've had a lot of things to adapt to and it's not always an easy recovery. Five months ago, the kneecap was dislocated, the folds were cleaned, and the torn cartilage was repaired, but until now I cannot walk properly. I am tired and depressed. Please, doctor, what should I do?
Hey I had 2 surgeries in my meniscus, last time was 3 years ago, but I accidentally ended up locking my knee playing soccer yesterday. I can’t straighten my knee or bend it all the way back. Does these exercises help a knee lock due to a torn meniscus?
It may help a little, but if you have a torn meniscus, it likely wont help a lot, nor would i advise doing this before seeing your GP or physio for a face to face assessment.
It would really depend on the fracture, i can't advise you to do this as i have not seen your xrays and do not have a history. Please find a physiotherapist near you who can tailor care appropriately 👌
Both of my knees wont straighten fully i do flips and i can only do a backflip cuz when i land it spains my knee i dont have any injuries i think i just have tight muscles idk what muscles i should stretch
You may have injured your meniscus in both knees which can make straightening your knees difficult and painful. The sprains themselves are injuries, stretching muscles is probably not what you need to do right now but i do advise getting an in person assessment from a chiropractor or physiotherapist near you 👌
