I adore Marvel and DC. No one can argue against the fact that Marvel has better live action movies (by far), but the majority of my favourite heroes can be found in the Bat Family. (I can never not love all of the Robins.)

I really loved Teen Titans growing up, Robin was my crush. Young Justice was absolute awesome as well. But after finding Deadpool back in like 2012, Marvel became my love.

1. In the context of DC vs Marvel, it's not about what something *can* be; it's about what something represents most of the time. This is the case because an argument has to remain on what is relevant opposed to focusing on minor exceptions. 2. For the sake of the video keeping a colloquial aura, it had to be cut short. Thus everything about DC and Marvel weren't mentioned. 3. People cannot like both because humans have many different personalities which include that of narrow-mindedness and favoritism.
The MainMan My main problem is people thinking DC is all dark and gritty but that’s mostly only when talking about Batman related stuff or the DCEU. Also, the DCAU was mentioned which was a great balance of seriousness and humor. In terms of Marvel, they can be really dark, mostly in terms of X-Men with the theme of prejudice. Stuff like Logan (I know it’s by Fox but still), the death of Gwen Stacy which is considered the end of the golden age of comics, and most of the Netflix series showcase Marvel’s dark side. Finally, I know people have opinions and may prefer one over the other. I just wish I could find more fans that are just fans of comic book characters and didn’t argue about which is better since both have great material. Then again, that may be asking for too much considering the world we live in.....

It is popular for kids among ages 4-9 . Pretty sure anyone above the age of 12 isn't a regular viewer ( i watched it ,till i was 16 ), BUT they make great songs , I'll admit that . Ex : The night begins to shine... One of the best.
Marvel and DC were BOTH a huge part of my childhood. I grew up watching the animated shows, and without them I wouldn’t love Superheroes as much as I do now. They inspire me to make comics and stories and these superheroes still impact me today. Both of them are so important to me I’d be a little bit less “me” without one or the other. I don’t care which fandom wins. I care what kind of impact they make on how we view superheroes and whether they’re inspiring.
I feel you. I definitely lean more toward Marvel because the first Iron Man movie was what fully got me into comic book heroes, but I'd be lying if I said Wonder Woman isn't one of my favorite heroes ever and that I don't also like Batman and Teen Titans. I just find myself interested in more of Marvel's heroes. Captain America, Black Widow, Spiderman, Guardians of the Galaxy, Black Panther... Neither is really better imo. It's all personal preference.
Kaija Schmauss Yeah definitely. I think the slight preferences in characters really depend on your past experiences with them. Most of my favorite characters were ones I’d watch/read as a child so I grew up relating more to certain characters than others. I grew up with the teen titans and Batfam but I also grew up with X-men, and I find I love the characters I grew up loving in different ways than I love the ones I do just from recently. So I think that’s kinda where the character preferences come from-your positive exposure to them.
I think Stan Lee takes a bit too much credit. Sure he created a lot of characters , but there are more artists and writers that should be acknowledged too.

Marvel undeniably has the better live action stuff, but DC has basically all of the best animated shows. Batman, Teen Titans, Young Justice, Justice League. It balances out in my opinion.
I love their animated shows too. Which is why it sucks so much that they canceled extremely popular shows Young Justice, and also popular show Green Lantern, just because they had slightly more female fans than boys. Young Justice got great numbers, but they canceled it because girls liked it. It kills me how they're that bad, ad think that badly about women and girls that they cancel shows just because girls like them. "Girls don't buy toys" well they would if you sold them any.

Sari the marvel live action fight scenes aren't always good either. Really any human fight scene has the camera shaking and changing angles so suddenly. It really sucks because black widow is one of my favorite characters and whenever she fights I can barely see her

I honestly like the DCEU. Sure there are some pretty bad movies, but also a lot of great ones like Man of Steel, Shazam!, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, BvS Ultimate Edition, and Zack Snyder’s Justice League. And if you think about it, the first eight MCU movies weren’t any better.

I grew up with divorced parents. My dad loved the DC universe and my mom loved Marvel, so naturally, I grew up watching both of them. I always thought Marvel was better until I became a teen and was actually allowed to watch the DC movies. They're both equal in my eyes, but a lot of DC's characters are way hotter than Marvel's (Black Canary, Nightwing, Wonder Woman, just to name a few)

There's a really cool comic (oof forgot the name, it's been a while since I last read it) where Spider-Man meets Superman, MJ meets Louis Lane, and Doc Oc meets one of Superman's smaller arch nemesis, although I forgot who. Superman and Spider-Man actually got into a h u G E fight, and didn't seem to like each other to well. MJ and Louis Lane had a small talk and actually became friends, bonding over their love for, uh, their favorite super heroes. Superman and Spider-Man became friends in the end by defeating both of their opponents at the same time together (and without killing them, which Spider-Man really liked.
DC is amazing and has some pretty good backstories, but I like Marvel just a bit more. I’ve been obsessed for a longer while. I love watching the Marvel storyline unfold and have since I was a lil girl. Love em both!💕💕
Ink Head I'm pretty sure everyone likes both. Most just prefer one over the other. I loved JLA as a kid. If DC had kept it up, I'd be a DC fanboy for sure. They got complacent though, while Marvel stepped up to the media gauntlet. Now I prefer Marvel more. Still wish DC wasn't suffering so badly in their movies though. If they ever want to hire me to fix or reboot the DCEU as a Kevin Feige type figure, I would not hesitate to engulf myself in the lore I studied as a kid, to bring everyone the DC that I millions of others once loved.

I think Dc is only “dark and angsty” in DCEU, I think the comics has both dark and light. I’m a dc fan, but I do enjoy both sides. Though admittedly, I always gravitate to Dc comics more than marvel. Marvel has better events, but I find Dcs characters more appealing and better written and the solo stores interesting. While with Marvel, I’ve only really ever enjoyed Spider-Man. Most characters, like Captain America, I like more in the MCU. I do applaud the MCU, I do. Enjoy it, but I wish people would stop crapping on DC just for their film hardships, that’s mostly WBs fault.

Yep, especially since he can break the fourth wall. There's also the fact that Deathstroke is played more as a dark, mostly villain who basically doesn't age but can be killed while deadpool is more of a comical anti-hero with almost invincibility. But they're both great. And Deathstroke will be in whatever the next thing the DCEU does with Justice League will be, so hopefully it'll actually be good.

i will admit, spiderverse is my favorite marvel film and a *very* close second for my favorite superhero film, behind of course the dark knight. but yeah dc animated movies and shows are on average far superior to marvel. in fact i think that the arrowverse + gotham + smallville are better than marvel live action shows. but they that's just me, i like the mcu just like everybody else.

It's ridiculous how everyone's always like "Ew, DC is so aNgsTY!" Like, no. DC isn't just Batman 😂😂 I admit that the movies are bad and angsty, but I mean, the comics are absolutely amazing. Not everything is dark and gloomy, there's funny and light-hearted superheroes too, such as: Flash, Plastic Man, Booster Gold, Nightwing, Superman, Green Lantern, Shazam, etc. ALSO, Marvel has a lot of angst in comics and shows, TOO. So don't come after DC for being angsty only because of the movies.
And Batman has been made unnecessarily dark when he is not supposed to be. The writers hate the batfam and lately have been doing stupid shit but when people care about the characters, it’s actually pretty hilarious. He basically had a bunch of children tell him that they were going to be superhero’s and there was nothing that could be done to stop them. When the writers lean into the dad side, it’s pretty hilarious. And his relationship with Alfred is awesome.
I know dc isnt angst and people are just going off of batman comics. Believe me, anyone whos read anything punisher, daredevil, moon knight, deadpool, or spider man (yes spider man is really dark) knows marvel can get angsty and dark.
@@malcolmjenkins3585 deadpool and spider-man depend on which story arcs your looking at. Like deadpool is supposed to be mostly goofy, but then sometimes the facade breaks and things get serious. As for spider-man, its mostly just stuff with the symbiotes (which have become their own separate thing at this point), or happened in the 90s, when everyone was edgy. Of course there are other instances but iys small stuff that applies to most heroes at one point or another. Also speaking of edge, don't forget the travesty that is the 2000s version of Lobo. He literally became the type of character he was supposed to be parodying.

No one can argue against the fact that Marvel has better live action movies (by far), but the majority of my favourite heroes can be found in the Bat Family. (I can never not love all of the Robins.)

1. In the context of DC vs Marvel, it's not about what something *can* be; it's about what something represents most of the time. This is the case because an argument has to remain on what is relevant opposed to focusing on minor exceptions.
2. For the sake of the video keeping a colloquial aura, it had to be cut short. Thus everything about DC and Marvel weren't mentioned.
3. People cannot like both because humans have many different personalities which include that of narrow-mindedness and favoritism.
The MainMan My main problem is people thinking DC is all dark and gritty but that’s mostly only when talking about Batman related stuff or the DCEU. Also, the DCAU was mentioned which was a great balance of seriousness and humor. In terms of Marvel, they can be really dark, mostly in terms of X-Men with the theme of prejudice. Stuff like Logan (I know it’s by Fox but still), the death of Gwen Stacy which is considered the end of the golden age of comics, and most of the Netflix series showcase Marvel’s dark side. Finally, I know people have opinions and may prefer one over the other. I just wish I could find more fans that are just fans of comic book characters and didn’t argue about which is better since both have great material. Then again, that may be asking for too much considering the world we live in.....

It is popular for kids among ages 4-9 . Pretty sure anyone above the age of 12 isn't a regular viewer ( i watched it ,till i was 16 ), BUT they make great songs , I'll admit that .

Marvel and DC were BOTH a huge part of my childhood. I grew up watching the animated shows, and without them I wouldn’t love Superheroes as much as I do now.
They inspire me to make comics and stories and these superheroes still impact me today. Both of them are so important to me I’d be a little bit less “me” without one or the other.
I don’t care which fandom wins. I care what kind of impact they make on how we view superheroes and whether they’re inspiring.

I feel you. I definitely lean more toward Marvel because the first Iron Man movie was what fully got me into comic book heroes, but I'd be lying if I said Wonder Woman isn't one of my favorite heroes ever and that I don't also like Batman and Teen Titans. I just find myself interested in more of Marvel's heroes. Captain America, Black Widow, Spiderman, Guardians of the Galaxy, Black Panther... Neither is really better imo. It's all personal preference.
Kaija Schmauss Yeah definitely. I think the slight preferences in characters really depend on your past experiences with them. Most of my favorite characters were ones I’d watch/read as a child so I grew up relating more to certain characters than others. I grew up with the teen titans and Batfam but I also grew up with X-men, and I find I love the characters I grew up loving in different ways than I love the ones I do just from recently. So I think that’s kinda where the character preferences come from-your positive exposure to them.

I grew up with divorced parents. My dad loved the DC universe and my mom loved Marvel, so naturally, I grew up watching both of them. I always thought Marvel was better until I became a teen and was actually allowed to watch the DC movies. They're both equal in my eyes, but a lot of DC's characters are way hotter than Marvel's (Black Canary, Nightwing, Wonder Woman, just to name a few)

That actually did happen! There's a really cool comic (oof forgot the name, it's been a while since I last read it) where Spider-Man meets Superman, MJ meets Louis Lane, and Doc Oc meets one of Superman's smaller arch nemesis, although I forgot who. Superman and Spider-Man actually got into a h u G E fight, and didn't seem to like each other to well. MJ and Louis Lane had a small talk and actually became friends, bonding over their love for, uh, their favorite super heroes. Superman and Spider-Man became friends in the end by defeating both of their opponents at the same time together (and without killing them, which Spider-Man really liked.
I've been waiting for the same thing to happen. I may be a DC girl at heart, but I want to see those crossovers.

Ink Head I'm pretty sure everyone likes both. Most just prefer one over the other. I loved JLA as a kid. If DC had kept it up, I'd be a DC fanboy for sure. They got complacent though, while Marvel stepped up to the media gauntlet. Now I prefer Marvel more. Still wish DC wasn't suffering so badly in their movies though. If they ever want to hire me to fix or reboot the DCEU as a Kevin Feige type figure, I would not hesitate to engulf myself in the lore I studied as a kid, to bring everyone the DC that I millions of others once loved.

I think Dc is only “dark and angsty” in DCEU, I think the comics has both dark and light.
I’m a dc fan, but I do enjoy both sides. Though admittedly, I always gravitate to Dc comics more than marvel. Marvel has better events, but I find Dcs characters more appealing and better written and the solo stores interesting. While with Marvel, I’ve only really ever enjoyed Spider-Man. Most characters, like Captain America, I like more in the MCU. I do applaud the MCU, I do. Enjoy it, but I wish people would stop crapping on DC just for their film hardships, that’s mostly WBs fault.

I genuinely think that after the MCU dies marvel will go bankrupt again. The comics at this point are just ads for the movies which is really disappointing. It's the same reason I hope the dc live action movies don't take off because they'll just take over the comics.

There are a lot of Marvel too actually. Because, Horikoshi's main inspiration (BnHA mangaka) in making HeroAca is Spider-Man. Deku's base personality is similar with Peter. While in terms of power, it's Sero (the tape guy) who's a homage to Spider-Man's 'web-slinging skill'. He's a big fan of it. Even in one of Jump Commentary, He fanboyed on how he got Tom Holland's signature. Such an adorable Westaboo.

Yep, especially since he can break the fourth wall. There's also the fact that Deathstroke is played more as a dark, mostly villain who basically doesn't age but can be killed while deadpool is more of a comical anti-hero with almost invincibility. But they're both great. And Deathstroke will be in whatever the next thing the DCEU does with Justice League will be, so hopefully it'll actually be good.

As a huge marvel fan, gotta say, Aquaman was amazing and DC got good with that one. But they should stick to animation. But can we all agree that Into the Spiderverse is an amazing movie???????
i will admit, spiderverse is my favorite marvel film and a *very* close second for my favorite superhero film, behind of course the dark knight. but yeah dc animated movies and shows are on average far superior to marvel. in fact i think that the arrowverse + gotham + smallville are better than marvel live action shows. but they that's just me, i like the mcu just like everybody else.

Chillax, man. Just cuz someone hates TTG doesn't mean they're a hater of the Teen Titans characters. The shows are wildly different: no one has to acknowledge good point in either show. It's opinions about cartoons.
When you realize most of the Marvel and DC crossovers are team-ups and not fights, and had an entire comic series themed around treating each other as equals, not to mention the entire Amalgam universe,!meaning even the companies know fighting is pointless

I’m a DC fan myself. I would always like its characters and stories more. But DC’s cinema movies can’t be compared to Marvel’s (If Watchmen and V for Vendetta doesn’t count)

With that being said, the war between Marvel vs DC is really silly. Marvel and DC have their own successes and flops.

It's ridiculous how everyone's always like "Ew, DC is so aNgsTY!" Like, no. DC isn't just Batman 😂😂 I admit that the movies are bad and angsty, but I mean, the comics are absolutely amazing. Not everything is dark and gloomy, there's funny and light-hearted superheroes too, such as: Flash, Plastic Man, Booster Gold, Nightwing, Superman, Green Lantern, Shazam, etc. ALSO, Marvel has a lot of angst in comics and shows, TOO. So don't come after DC for being angsty only because of the movies.

And Batman has been made unnecessarily dark when he is not supposed to be. The writers hate the batfam and lately have been doing stupid shit but when people care about the characters, it’s actually pretty hilarious. He basically had a bunch of children tell him that they were going to be superhero’s and there was nothing that could be done to stop them. When the writers lean into the dad side, it’s pretty hilarious. And his relationship with Alfred is awesome.
I know dc isnt angst and people are just going off of batman comics. Believe me, anyone whos read anything punisher, daredevil, moon knight, deadpool, or spider man (yes spider man is really dark) knows marvel can get angsty and dark.
@@malcolmjenkins3585 deadpool and spider-man depend on which story arcs your looking at. Like deadpool is supposed to be mostly goofy, but then sometimes the facade breaks and things get serious. As for spider-man, its mostly just stuff with the symbiotes (which have become their own separate thing at this point), or happened in the 90s, when everyone was edgy. Of course there are other instances but iys small stuff that applies to most heroes at one point or another.
Also speaking of edge, don't forget the travesty that is the 2000s version of Lobo. He literally became the type of character he was supposed to be parodying.
