- There have been a few Beyblade Spinoff shows. One of them was Beywheelz. Basically Beyblades as tires. Beywheelz was the first among the spinoff shows and I thought why not take a look back on the show and react to Beywheelz's first episode.

As a kid I initially thought that it was a parallel universe where beys evolved in a way that made them spin vertically instead of horizontally.
@Zeke S no the intro of the show implies it took place in the same world, also the guy in the video said he couldn’t figure out how the meteorite evolved in a way that transitioned from Tops to wheels.

My uncle bought me a bunch of these as a birthday present when i got into beyblade. At first, i thought these were the coolest things. After three days, i realized that three things can happen in a battle.
1. They hit eachother and then both fall a second later
2. They completely miss and you gotta go find where they went
3. One of them didnt get off the launcher and you had to try again.
These were probably the most boring things ive ever seen as a kid and i only enjoyed taking them and launching them down the street to see how far they can go.
I only bought the Pegasus one because you know it’s Pegasus don’t know where it’s at though

Since Shogun Steel ended early(it didn’t have the standard amount of episodes) they had to make Beywheelz to make the rest of the episodes.
But why didn't they make another Shogun Steel Season. It had so much potential. The story could be so cool with all the old characters like Ryuga,Kyoya,Kenta,Masamune, etc.

I used to do some vertical launch with storm pegasis, like in the anime(I know it's a beybade abuse) but I didn't know these beywheels existed

When I was younger with the metal fusion beyblades , I vertically launched Rock Leone to make it the strongest bey I had , the scratches , as one of my past friends said it would buff the bey ,I believed it worked lol

The characters may not LOOK like copy cat characters but they totally are in terms of character. The show relies on the fact that the characters are counterparts to the Metal Fusion characters instead of making them their own characters, which is NOT a good thing. How much I love Gingka and Ryuga isn’t going transfer into Sho and Jin.
And I know that Shogun Steel ended early which is why they made this but that doesn’t immediately mean problem of the characters not having their own unique character is fixed.
If they had to cancel shogun steel for this then I'm heated ngl 💀

The toys were hard to launch. Too heavy for the launchers they were given

I'm watching the origin of beywheels in the anime and I'm rolling on the floor, i havent laughed this hard in a long time.
The toys were absolute garbage (though they were great visually). The anime had some interesting stuff, but 12 episodes were not enough to develop everything. It had interesting, if underused characters, an interesting plotline, and pretty cool battles. Sadly, I can only think "it deserved better"
Now Beyraiderz was a true mistake
Maybe if they didn't use it as some filler for Metal Fury, it would help.

Thank you for making this. The metal saga was the best, it was truly one of the best animes of all time from the music, characters, evolutions, everything. I still rewatch to this day. They truly ruined it & it makes me really sad
Nah they haven’t tbh I see the metal saga ending at shogun steel but I ignored all the other beyblade series’s because I think metal fusion masters fury and shogun are all in perfect sequence

Beyblades are just so much better in every way. Especially during the Metal Series era.
The actor that plays sho tenma is the same voice for Shinobu hyruin from shogun steel/zero g series
It’s actually quite easy to see how blades can evolve into tires. There is an illegal beyblade mod you can do where you put a rubber band around a beyblade. The friction allows the beyblade to steal energy from the other beyblade which gives it a massive advantage. So if beyblades naturally adapted to have this advantage, blades would become obsolete and become more tire like.

I'm not gonna lie I really wanted the crossover where after they hop through the portal they just met the metal saga cast and did a beywheel vs beyblade fight just Pegasus clashing with Pegasus was such a funny idea to me

Actually liked the show, I don't put it way below other metal series episodes. It's enjoyable, esp the dominators part.

I remember watching beyraiderz when I was little. It is essentially the same thing but with a car around the wheel. The show also had a good theme song

The game (and show by extension) wouldve probably been better if they used a dome-shaped stadium for 360 battles instead of "crash battles"
They had a special gimmick stadium with that idea in mind during Metal Fury. Problem was, with it being for beyblades and anime antigrav logic from the episode that featured it not withstanding, they had to make a special wheel-like piece that replaced the spin track & performance tip. With the way it fit together with the other parts it also ended up covering the fusion wheel too, so really it made the actual build of the bey completely irrelevant aside from weight.
It would’ve been cool if you could use the lower hemisphere for standard bey battles, but the incline was so steep everything just automatically spun out by hitting the walls and flying around the stadium on the fusion wheel until it dropped after a few seconds.
Beywheelz seemed to be the closest to what Burst is nowadays, with the different type of battles and the points you get for each win.
That said, I liked Beywheelz as it’s own thing. The concept when done in the anime was cool. Beyraiderz was an absolute joke, though I’d still say both are better than some of the Burst seasons (QuadDrive is just an insult)
But if it’s true that Shogun Steel ended early in order to develop both of these spin offs, then I’m very upset at that. It had loads of potential and should’ve continued before we got Burst.
And Beywheelz are animated similarly to Burst too. Noticed how the beys here are animated to just spinning in slow mo, that's like how Burst animated their beys too. Unlike in OG gen or MFB where the beys are animated always spinning fast, and almost never ever losing speed until the plot demands it. So i guess everything has its own unique points

I actually like the concept of Beyblade burst and some of the designs are sick. But when it comes to the anime, i only love Beyblade burst and burst evolution. I like Burst turbo too, but mostly cuz of Achilles and the Antagonist Phoenix. Valt vs Shu and Phoenix vs Achilles was peak Beyblade. (But i was sad that they did my boy Valt dirty in Turbo).
Everything else that came after just seems boring. You don't see the kinda connection that Valt, Shu or Aiger had with their beys.
I caught a random episode of burst one day, i wasnt really engaged because the 5 round format really sucked the tension out of the battles. Plus, i was being really cynical with "ooo, i wonder if the main character is going to clutch a win in the end" but it still felt like tension started and stopped repeatedly. The whole one battle decides it all in the tournaments in metal saga made it all a do or die moment, meaning when you saw pegasus or saggitario hurtling toward edge of the stadium, you almost close your eyes, trying to brace for that decisive defeat, then get absolutely awash with relief when they catch the very edge
@@The27thTitan Anime wise yeah, Burst, Burst Evolution & Turbo are my favorites. Those are the only seasons where the burst era still felt new and refreshing. But everything after Burst comes up as a cash grab for me personally by just reskinning the same plot and characters over and over again. The only new thing in the later seasons we got was the Twins in Surge, but even that was poorly executed.
I’d rather we got a continuation of Shogun Steel. It had so much potential, especially with the cameos we got of all the old metal saga characters who could’ve been awesome returning characters for the new cast. Especially Ryuga and Sakyo
@@BlazingKhioneus Exactly! That’s one of the biggest issues I’ve had with Burst in general.
While it’s cool that the Burst format allows for multiple round battles, the big downside is that it takes away all of the tension and hype that a one round decides it all battle would have like in the Metal saga.
Multiple rounded battles also takes away a lot of focus that one big battles would have. Burst battles get shortened to few minute matches.
I’m not the only one who got Kyoya vibes from Leon over here. What’s that? Leon also has a lion themed BeyWheelz? That’s it, Leon=Kyoya confirmed.
Only Leon was actually able to beat his rival lol

OG BeyBlade and Metal Fusion was amazing, I even went to tournaments. The first two series was great.
The OG characters all had kids, they should do a BeyBlade Next Generations anime/manga lol.

I had 2 fake beywheelz as a kid and they actually had performance tips and could spin like beyblades so I used them that way... I was pretty much unbeatable

Even the original Pegasus, L-Drago and Nemesis started out as old tops made from a meteorite; According to what we learn in the Metal Saga.

i honestly wonder how beywheels would work with other systems like magnets ,engine gears, or bursting. honestly now that i think about it, beywheels might have been good in a destroyer dome like stadium where the aim would be that they roll within it. its funny cause the beys designed for destroyer dome where just wheels with sides. add in the burst gimmick to give a win condition and you got a fun new game.

When I watched this as a kid I thought this was put in the same universe as the Metal Saga but wasn’t because if it was it would be in the same Saga universe as the Metal one
I remember that I watch one episode beywheelz xd it was interesting at least for me and there appers pegasus but no gingka and well when I was a child I was a fanboy of gingka and when I didn't saw him my interest of watching beywheelz dissapeared and I think I regreated that because now that I see this again, it looks interesting xd
When I got my first two beywheelz, I went to the park and did stunts with them, which worked for me. Unlike the show, I did actually cool things that made it enjoyable for the time. What I used as my test "stadiums" were a swirly slide, standard slide, and tube slide. That is not all, I used everything in the park to test the wheelz and I was pretty pleased with the results. Try doing parkour stuff with them and see for yourself. I agree the show was meh and was more of a marketing tool than a show. However, if the show was given more polish as a revival then it may have a chance as a spinoff and respect from the fanbase of Beyblade.

They really made an entire series out of holding the launcher sideways, huh? Honestly, I think if that's literally what they were (beysblades meant to start on their side) it could have been a pretty good successor show to the metal series if executed well. Incorporating it as a thing on top of normal Bey gameplay makes more sense to me than trying to have it stand on its own.
