No proper systematic video is available on youtube regarding this as of now!
Well I just upgraded to this box, this is amazing entire TV we control with just one remote, before purchasing this I purchased fire stick and landed in two issues 1. Remote compatibility issue so one has to keep multiple remotes 2. DTH on AV port and fire-stick on HDMI port, so many time switching from AV to HDMI signal gets lost many times. People who don't want to recharge DTH better go for firestick, but if one wants both then its better go for this box.

No, you need to recharge your dth atleast with most basic package to access any service. Xstream app doesn't have any live channel on the app that comes installed on it.
I think u can watch netflix or prime if u have subscription. It won't play normal tv channels because its not a dth service.If u connect a dth then obviously u need to recharge it to see the channels. This box is just a medium to convert your normal tv to smart tv without having a smart tv at a very cheaper price.
There are some IPTV apps which run jio TV and Airtel TV app where you can watch 400+ channels without paying 😉. You have to sideload the apps since they are not on play store. P.S. I have old lg Airtel internet TV and I am watching TV w/o paying from 2years

I have read in other reviews that this device would be locked if you aren't subscribed to Airtel Channel packs - which means you can't see Prime Video or Netflix or even do Chromecast if you don't have the monthly channel subscription done with Airtel. I have one clarification which you can help - I have an Airtel HD STB with recording with a monthly HD pack. If I upgrade to this Xstreambox, will the same subscription be enough or do i need to do any additional subscription in addition to what I already have? The reason i am asking this question is that - when I try to order for the Xstream box as an existing customer, the price includes a HD pack and its also asking me to choose a monthly plan. Storage on this xtreme box is limited. Usable space is only about 4GB. With this only about one or two apps may be installed. Has someone tried extending it with SD card as internal storage? If yes, would be great to hear about your experience.

Rànjit u missed a very important point. The Xtreme box does not have a Recording facility, which i have in my Airtel Internet tv box. And without recording facility it sucks. Internet box has all the similar function, its just tht it runs on Android 6.

You will be unable to use any of Google services, Play Store, and other apps like Netflix, Hotstar! (even if you have subscription for them) etc. Don't waste your ₹3999
FireTV Stick is much better than Stream Box. Moreover you can get it for as low as ₹2500 during sales. I have been using it for 2 years without any issue.

I am switching over from Cable TV + Amazon Fire TV stick to this Airtel Extreme Box. I have placed an order yesterday. But one feature of Fire TV that I may be missing is the Bluetooth Connectivity. Does it exist? You have not mentioned this. But I am assuming it may exist as it has a Bluetooth remote. One advantage of having Bluetooth on my Fire TV stick is that I can connect my Soundbar as well as Wireless Head Phones. If the Airtel Extreme box does not support Bluetooth connectivity to my Soundbar and Head Phones, then I will lose this important functionality

Better stick with Fire Tv if you have one or buy one if you want a smart tv experience. Airtel standard HD box is way better than this so called “Smart box”. I basically see no pros upgrading from a normal Set-up box. Cons: - Everytime you open a channel, it buffers a bit and then shows the channel - built-in chromecast is not like the original chromecast ( either it doesn’t even connect or you will see a clear delay in casting) - if you have a set of favourite channels selected, you can’t change through them normally (have to go to home page everytime and select the channel you want, trust me it’s annoying) - this box is not returnable if you don’t like it (you might want to take a new connection if you want the normal old box) - I’ve also noticed that they have locked the sound kinda low inside the box which you can’t change it ( I played same contents from Xtream box and fire tv, noticed xtream gives a low output in general than other) So think before buying if you are upgrading from a Airtel old HD box, I’d suggest stay with your old box and buy a fire tv stick. Hoping Airtel will give some updates and fix the issues. Smart box is not so smart in this case.
I wish it supported Dolby vision! I would happily replace my fire tv 4k which is best in terms of features it provides. The makers of these king of products are generally boomers with no real knowledge about this kind of stuff.
You do have to do monthly dtg recharge to even use this box. Otherwise it locks you out completely. Fire stick is much better option as it is from company that don't provide DTH. They are not boomers they are businessmen. They don't want what is happening in the USA and European countries over there people are ditching DTH or cable TV completely for OTT apps. Also these DTH owned channels and service providers are bearing heavy losses. Airtel, tata sky, DishTV etc don't want this to happen in india. That's why none of them have only streaming service where you can use it without their DTH recharge. If you are only interested in OTT apps choose fire stick or any other android box such as Mi TV Box S available on ShareSave app from Xiaomi itself. Hardware used by these dth brands is generally very bad. I have had bad experience both from tata sky and DishTV. That why I would recommend getting something from a brand that is independent of this dth business.

Yes it locks you out completely if not recharged monthly for dth. Fire stick is much better option as it only requires internet connection to work. No monthly fees. For existing tata sky subscribers, Tata Sky Binge is best option. For only ₹249 per month you get Hotstar, Zee5, Eros Now, Hungama Play, Sun NXT subscription as well as fire stick for free. That means you don't even have to buy fire stick just get tata sky binge for ₹249 a month. Notes: 1. you need to have active tata sky dth. That means you need to have existing tata sky connection to avail ₹249 benefit. 2. App subscription provided by Tata sky binge is only available for TV. You can't use that Hotstar or zee5 subscription in your mobile. Only TV.
All these smart dth boxes are gimmick. Lot of niggle in this one. Also tata sky launched their own android box for 6k. Come on. Buy a fire TV stick. Problem solved.

I'm also seeing the Same issue, reviewers are reviewing TV's and these Boxes but they aren't comparing or making a statement about speeds. I've a 90k 55' Sony Android tv which is laggy when compared to Samsung's Own OS in its TV's.
lokesh reddy yes man, you are very true. It got updated to android 8 a few days back and it lags badly. They cost so much and why can’t they put a decent processor..btw mine’s 3,38,000 A8 2018 model Sony. LG’s UI is fluid compared to android TV.

I am still using a sony PS3 which was bought on 2007, for streaming netflix, amazon nd youtube.

Better stick with Fire Tv if you have one or buy one if you want a smart tv experience.
Airtel standard HD box is way better than this so called “Smart box”.
I basically see no pros upgrading from a normal Set-up box.
Cons:
- Everytime you open a channel, it buffers a bit and then shows the channel
- built-in chromecast is not like the original chromecast ( either it doesn’t even connect or you will see a clear delay in casting)
- if you have a set of favourite channels selected, you can’t change through them normally (have to go to home page everytime and select the channel you want, trust me it’s annoying)
- this box is not returnable if you don’t like it (you might want to take a new connection if you want the normal old box)
- I’ve also noticed that they have locked the sound kinda low inside the box which you can’t change it ( I played same contents from Xtream box and fire tv, noticed xtream gives a low output in general than other)
So think before buying if you are upgrading from a Airtel old HD box, I’d suggest stay with your old box and buy a fire tv stick.
Hoping Airtel will give some updates and fix the issues. Smart box is not so smart in this case.

The makers of these king of products are generally boomers with no real knowledge about this kind of stuff.
You do have to do monthly dtg recharge to even use this box. Otherwise it locks you out completely. Fire stick is much better option as it is from company that don't provide DTH.
They are not boomers they are businessmen. They don't want what is happening in the USA and European countries over there people are ditching DTH or cable TV completely for OTT apps. Also these DTH owned channels and service providers are bearing heavy losses.
Airtel, tata sky, DishTV etc don't want this to happen in india. That's why none of them have only streaming service where you can use it without their DTH recharge.
If you are only interested in OTT apps choose fire stick or any other android box such as Mi TV Box S available on ShareSave app from Xiaomi itself.
Hardware used by these dth brands is generally very bad. I have had bad experience both from tata sky and DishTV. That why I would recommend getting something from a brand that is independent of this dth business.

Yes it locks you out completely if not recharged monthly for dth. Fire stick is much better option as it only requires internet connection to work. No monthly fees.
For existing tata sky subscribers, Tata Sky Binge is best option. For only ₹249 per month you get Hotstar, Zee5, Eros Now, Hungama Play, Sun NXT subscription as well as fire stick for free.
That means you don't even have to buy fire stick just get tata sky binge for ₹249 a month.
Notes:
1. you need to have active tata sky dth. That means you need to have existing tata sky connection to avail ₹249 benefit.
2. App subscription provided by Tata sky binge is only available for TV. You can't use that Hotstar or zee5 subscription in your mobile. Only TV.

Airtel Xstreem LAG box, I am user from 6 months very laggy box
Most of the reviewers are covering this airtel now because they are paid by the airtel agency.
I'm also seeing the Same issue, reviewers are reviewing TV's and these Boxes but they aren't comparing or making a statement about speeds. I've a 90k 55' Sony Android tv which is laggy when compared to Samsung's Own OS in its TV's.

lokesh reddy yes man, you are very true. It got updated to android 8 a few days back and it lags badly. They cost so much and why can’t they put a decent processor..btw mine’s 3,38,000 A8 2018 model Sony. LG’s UI is fluid compared to android TV.
