the most annoying part is when you enter an area which is literally empty no enemies at first and then 5 mins later, 2 cocksuckers spawn behind your back and kill you.
EDIT: Just read this interview with Slava Lukyanenka, the creative director on STALKER 2. Looks like 'A-Life 2.0' is actually just a Far-Cry style event spawning system. "As you exit, you see A-life spawning a couple of stalkers passing by. They are attracted by the events and see there might be something to loot as well. They enter the Arch-Anomaly. You continue to run away, and the Poltergeist starts chasing you. It notices the stalkers and now targets them. They start fighting each other, but they’re doing it in the dangerous center of the Arch-Anomaly. At this point, anything may happen. If A-life decides, a bunch of pseudodogs could spawn, and the whole situation could evolve in different ways." There was never any background simulation. GSC said so a couple months ago and nobody noticed. We fuckin played ourselves.
We didn't, we expected something from what they've called it. Yes the description should have tipped us off but when you call a chocolate bar chocolate bar 2.0 you don't expect an ice cream sandwich.
AFAIK that was how A-life worked. NPCs will temporarily despawn/go offline at a certain radius but the game remembers them (where they're heading, what they're carrying etc.) thus when they are triggered to respawn, there's a certain continuity (eg. not from out of nowhere/random). The big difference is that in Stalker, the map are divided into sectors but in Stalker2 it's one huge open world. That complicates things a lot. I think Alife2 is just trying to simulate the feel of Alife cuz it's just too much computation for such simulation in a true open world.
@@mocmocmoc13 that's what I was thinking. If by spawn they mean the NPCs are entering online mod, it could still be A-life if they're on a patrol being governed by the offline mode. However I fear it may just mean they spawn at random

There’s no way they didn’t know Alife 2.0 was broken BEFORE they made the video about the game “going gold”. They lied and hid that it was broken so they wouldn’t have to address it until AFTER they took your money from preorders and early purchases. There’s a reason they kept the reviews from coming out until 2 hours before, because it takes about an hour and half to get through the prologue and into the open world to notice the AI is broken…. Lmao. And using the war is no excuse for lying about your game features. If the war caused the game to not get fully finished, just say that, not hype up features you know don’t work, just to tell us it doesn’t work AFTER we bought the game. Shady af. They either couldn't implement it cause it is hella bugged or makes even more technical issues or they just completely removed since it is hard to create in such a big map. Either way it's sad that such a core mechanic isn't in the newest title anymore. It has potential to be great but without A-Life it's just a generic survival shooter.

You really havent been around for the first game? A-Life was a overambitious system that got largely cut from SoC when they scaled the game down during development in 2005-2007. Vanilla SoC was completely static, scripted spawns, NPC´s being locked to their own little area bubble (called gulags internally) and that was it. People who followed the earlier development were bummed out alot in 07. CoP (2009) had some of it in the base game, but with alot more guardrails than modded SoC. GSC just left alot of broken code for it in the SoC´s game files, so modders first brought it back, then spent years fixing it to the point of being a somewhat functional dynamic system. Modder´s also took alot of code from the later alpha & beta leaks + build 1935. Anyone even remembers AMK and the mods that were later based on that? A-Life was a "core point" during development and marketing, yes. But the actually released game in 07 had none of it but broken and deactivated remnants...
Scripted events and random spawns concealed it for a lot of people. There is no faction tab in pda so what are we even talking about. But good sales may prompt them to stick around and add promised stuff post launch.
Your better off waiting a year and a half for the game to be finished and hopefully mod tools will be out that's the only hope it's been a empty disappointment so far😢
If A-life is truly in the game and just bugged, I don't see why endless bandits can spawn. Once a group of bandits are killed in the old games, they're gone until another set enter the zone
It weird when i was playing i had to infiltrate a base from the lower level didn't realize that ubtil afterwards i kept kiiling enemy killed 200 giy but they kept spawning so i had to leave also in the original game the animals and ai feel like they where more natural in the first game i rember when the animals and stalkers get scared when shooting at them or near them or when wounded the ai will keep attacking even when in danger like they have no self preservation.
Idk sometimes I’ll go back when I get “attacked out of nowhere” just to see And sometimes you can faintly see in the distance a squad of randoms just passing by Idk how it works but there’s gotta be something that makes it rarer that’s for sure, but it’s definitely there in some way I went hella far to the concrete factory, and followed a squad of dudes all the way to a location, they got attacked, I saved them, and came back to that base having deals on every trader, since I saved them earlier
Considering the whole reason A-Life even worked in the past games is that the engine was built from the ground up around the idea, it's no real surprise that it was going to be a disaster on UE5. Enjoy the game for what it is, a game full of anomalies and issues that we still somehow all find joy in.
Yep the A life 2.0 not working properly. Its in the game files but broken for some reason and they trying to fix it (they have to... Its the core of stalker game)
There is no proof that there is any system in the files. I think what we got is what they call ALIFE 2.0, they just fucked the spawn variables and thats all we'll get changed.
I was doubtful that a-life will be as free as it was in originals. From my understanding, a-life is the reason for bugs and jank in the og stalker. It is my opinion that the reason why og stalker is different(and better) than rest of the industry was exactly thanks to very free and spontaneous a-life. But it is also a reason why the trilogy was impossible to rid of bugs as a-life inherently creates hard to replicate crash/bug reproduction scenarios. I hoped that they, however at least avoid far cry levels of fakeness.
@@darcinek Yeah i still remember 2007 and crashes to desktop every 30 minutes due to x-ray failure. Modders did a better job polishing this entire spaghetti code than GSC Games. Damn even GAMMA with 450 mods runs far better than Stalker 2.
0:21 not to be a nitpicker, but when shit like that happens in a game im immersed in, it breaks. i stop and think for a minute, really the door was expected to open out and it physically impossibly opened in. why did they do that. i dont own the game and wander how much of that bs is in this game. from what i see online, a lot.
There is no a life because this feature was already heavy in the oldest stalkers, i cannot even imagine how unplayable would be if you put a full a life system on an unreal engine 5 shit of a game. When they choose unreal engine 5 as the game engine they knew that a life wouldt be implemented. They lied. They should have chosen a different engine
The problem is, simulated worlds require a lot of processing power to keep track of everything, they are very CPU dependent. With that being the case, there was no way they could offer A Life to consoles, they wouldn't be able to handle it on top of everything else. So I suspect they gave us the current system and focused on that for release, and left A Life on the shelf to be worked on in the future. I hope that is the case, because I am sick of seeing PC games being throttled because of console constraints. Saying that, I could be wrong, but it would make sense.
I hope they will refine it, the game looks like a not finished one, but they said they had no choice but only to release it. The amount of content is overwhelming, though fighting style of humans sucks. I hope they have the system somewhere but cannot integrate it yet, so we have to wait, they said we have to wait until December.
Take with a grain of salt what they say, I've been a big stalker fan since 2007 but their statement makes 0 sense, if a life is present but broken why there is radius spawning what we have aka "random encounters" a life could not magically be broken on release, its probably not there until now or got broken long time ago thats why they added random encounters for replacement, why it was not mentioned that a life broken and will be released or updated later, or even implemented, why steam page removed a life mentioning, why devs made excuses of showing a life until now, at gamescon it was asked if they will show it but they made excuses for not showing because it would take too long something cool to show, they could just show simple things and fast forward video for better things witch is quite odd from devs because if you make cool system in game you would like to showcase how its working, i hope im wrong but i not having big hopes for it to come, they just might say its bug to reduce heat from people.
A-Life 1.0 from Stalker SoC was a LIE on release, this was tuned up and fixed later on after few patches. Most likely it will be the same with Stalker 2, you can't do 100% test of big game like this, it's impossible.
It does sometimes still feel like stalker. At one time i was fighting a group of bandits and after the fight was over and i was looting the bodies i saw movement from the corner of my eye and when i went to check it out i saw that it was a blood sucker walking around. Somehow it hadnt noticed me yet though. But overall it still feels like stalker and ive been enjoying the game alot.

Nah can’t have that. I think it’s not in the game at all. Will be added later with an huge update surey
@@Americawtff GSC said a-life2 already in the game, but it doesn't work well. So, i think this is not true lol
Scripted events and random spawns concealed it for a lot of people. There is no faction tab in pda so what are we even talking about. But good sales may prompt them to stick around and add promised stuff post launch.
"A-Lie" 🤣
It's obviously not in the game.
The question now is, is it a lie, or is it disabled and a bandaid system in its place temporarily?
Game is just trash. A lot of lies from developers
btw everyone there’s code for it in game just it’s not working rn they should fix it jn a year or so🤷 probably under a year
and tbh i think they should just revamp it
gonna stick to gamma. will consider buying stalker 2 until my fellow slavs start modding it to perfection
Your better off waiting a year and a half for the game to be finished and hopefully mod tools will be out that's the only hope it's been a empty disappointment so far😢
Its a lie.
One thing I can’t understand is, why the game is 140GB.
All the spyware taking up space lol😅
@@SWAVER17what do you mean?
@@grahamda1379 I'm just trolling brother . Its got some issues but still a good game
Multiple layers,2013 game over 2012 and so on,update after update you're gonna need 500 gb ssd for it not modded.
So apprenlty what happend alive 2.0 was bugged and what we seeing now is the bandage solution.
The honeymoon is already over with that game. Game's already lowered to 78% on steam and it will keep going down.
If A-life is truly in the game and just bugged, I don't see why endless bandits can spawn. Once a group of bandits are killed in the old games, they're gone until another set enter the zone
The devs need to watch this video and fix it.
So, it sounds like the combat ai has wallhacks and aimbot and the encounter ai just does whatever tf randomly. Is that right?
It weird when i was playing i had to infiltrate a base from the lower level didn't realize that ubtil afterwards i kept kiiling enemy killed 200 giy but they kept spawning so i had to leave also in the original game the animals and ai feel like they where more natural in the first game i rember when the animals and stalkers get scared when shooting at them or near them or when wounded the ai will keep attacking even when in danger like they have no self preservation.
Has anyone been able to successfully defend Zalissya or is it 100% bugged?
There is no A life but they have been saying they are working on it so I’m praying they are
So many gen z people complaining. BE PATIENT
They turned off alife until next updates because game is unoptimised
Idk sometimes I’ll go back when I get “attacked out of nowhere” just to see
And sometimes you can faintly see in the distance a squad of randoms just passing by
Idk how it works but there’s gotta be something that makes it rarer that’s for sure, but it’s definitely there in some way
I went hella far to the concrete factory, and followed a squad of dudes all the way to a location, they got attacked, I saved them, and came back to that base having deals on every trader, since I saved them earlier
Considering the whole reason A-Life even worked in the past games is that the engine was built from the ground up around the idea, it's no real surprise that it was going to be a disaster on UE5. Enjoy the game for what it is, a game full of anomalies and issues that we still somehow all find joy in.
Modders will implement it
Yep the A life 2.0 not working properly. Its in the game files but broken for some reason and they trying to fix it (they have to... Its the core of stalker game)
How do you know it's in the game files? can you link me to where you found that? I want to believe it exists but I'm not convinced.
Seeing a reference to alife doesn't mean it's implemented. It could be old residual code
@@LaughingMan44i swear these people love being lied to
There is no proof that there is any system in the files. I think what we got is what they call ALIFE 2.0, they just fucked the spawn variables and thats all we'll get changed.
I saw those files, there are a bunch of simple spawner functions, a life would have tons of line of code which is not the case.
You are mistaken
The whole og games were a bunch of junk
Not just the a life system
Even the x ray engine is junky
That is the root of the problems
@@darcinek Yeah i still remember 2007 and crashes to desktop every 30 minutes due to x-ray failure. Modders did a better job polishing this entire spaghetti code than GSC Games. Damn even GAMMA with 450 mods runs far better than Stalker 2.
@@RadzioTheGreat yeah and it seems that thy did not change their standards since 2007
It's a bit scammy game :-D
This is a cut gamma on unreal engine.
Volume is too low
the game volume is too high
i shouldnt have bought this trash game, back to modding stalker anomaly
Right man, a more classic experience
at this point I feel like this is just an investment into stalker 2 anomaly/gamma
@@pira707yes but it will run only on NASA pc. The game is already heavy as hell, with a full a life mod would be unplayable
@@SalvatoreCannistraro099 not if modders either split the map up or we wait a decade for better hardware
It’s bugle they are fixing it probably next but fix
They lied. They should have chosen a different engine
ohw gsc i hope A life is not a lie
Time will tell
The problem is, simulated worlds require a lot of processing power to keep track of everything, they are very CPU dependent. With that being the case, there was no way they could offer A Life to consoles, they wouldn't be able to handle it on top of everything else. So I suspect they gave us the current system and focused on that for release, and left A Life on the shelf to be worked on in the future. I hope that is the case, because I am sick of seeing PC games being throttled because of console constraints.
Saying that, I could be wrong, but it would make sense.
consoles can barely handle the very first starting town you come across lmfao. This is insane
I hope they will refine it, the game looks like a not finished one, but they said they had no choice but only to release it. The amount of content is overwhelming, though fighting style of humans sucks. I hope they have the system somewhere but cannot integrate it yet, so we have to wait, they said we have to wait until December.
Devs on the discord say A-Life 2.0 is busted atm and are working on fixes, I might pause my gameplay till it's fixed
I have stumbled on a squad of stalkers exploring the wilderness in the first couple of hours
A-Life 1.0 from Stalker SoC was a LIE on release, this was tuned up and fixed later on after few patches. Most likely it will be the same with Stalker 2, you can't do 100% test of big game like this, it's impossible.
you don't need play very far in game to realize the a life isnt working
It’s almost like cyberpunk, not nearly as bad, but some missions enemies re spawn within 10 meters
Cyberpunk was a lot better than this 😂
It does sometimes still feel like stalker. At one time i was fighting a group of bandits and after the fight was over and i was looting the bodies i saw movement from the corner of my eye and when i went to check it out i saw that it was a blood sucker walking around. Somehow it hadnt noticed me yet though. But overall it still feels like stalker and ive been enjoying the game alot.
i dont care im not gonna llay the game without 500+ mods on my mo2 build anyway

Yes is a lie, they never made it to the game and this is no STALKER only a AAA fps crap in the Zone. GSC is a bunch of marketing liers :)
