My pleasure! Glad it was helpful. You should check out my camera mastery course in the description as it goes over everything to do with beginners and camera settings. I think it would be super helpful for you!
That little suction pull ring on the magnetic filter cover is a great little tip, always worried about scratching my filters when taking that cover off.
I’m absolutely unmoved by cars, especially the expensive ones like this one, but your enthusiasm and clean video methodology made for an enjoyable experience. Thumbs up 👍!
I’ve owned my camera for about 2 years. Heavily rely on auto settings and use light room to edit everything. Started with my 18 mustang because I didn’t want to pay a photographer the asking amount when I felt I could get my own Sony a6 and learn it myself. This video gave me a HUGE confident booster to pick it back up and start messing with the settings man fast video and to the point I love it!
Hey man! Highly recommend checking out my camera mastery course! It goes through the camera and how to actually understand the settings. Made for exactly you! And then I have loads of great Lightroom tutorials on the channel also 👊🏼 Thanks for watching!
Absolutely stunning location and that lighting is immense! Such a cool car, have done some shoots with Taycans lately and they're incredible to drive, Porsche are wizards at hiding that weight. Great vid mate, so calming watching the maestro at work with those chill beats playing
You said it right. Definitely some kind of German wizardry going on because it’s such a nice drive. Thanks so much for watching and I’m glad you enjoyed it 👊🏼😎
I’m a beauty and fashion photographer who loves cars naturally and I’ve been thinking of adding automotive photography… I must say I’m moved by this educational content thank you
I'm fairly new to photography and invested in a canon r8 + rf f4 24-105mm lens, would you recommend shooting at 35,50 and 85 whilst out on a scenic shoot? I live in quite mountainous area and quite like taking some 105mm shots to really emphasise the mountains. Curious at what point do you decide on upping the iso rather than lowering shutter speed on handheld
Great questions man! I’m not super familiar with the R8. Is it full frame? Because you’re limited to an aperture of F4 you may have to use more ISO than you would hope to. And depending on how good the image stabilization is on the R8 would allow you to go lower on your shutter speed. I created a course about camera settings and it would be perfect for you! Check it out in the description because it answers all these questions. Thanks for watching brother!
Nice vista, not as easy to get elevation in Manitoba! One quick quesiton about the Rainx waterless spray; any concerns about the lubrication it leaves behind? (silicone?) Once you start using rain on glass, its like a gateway drug and if you stop you get residue; had to use lighter fluid to get back to clean glass (not sure about he paint product, thus the question!)
To be honest, sounds like you know more about the product than I do. I haven’t looked into long term. I use it on my car more often and have ppf on it. Never used it for the glass though.
@@TheCarCreative Well I only know when I used a Rainx product on my glass and stopped, it became unbeatable til I found out how to remove. I have no idea if its car product has same issues; was hoping you did! I've had a few car clients use the California Duster to get rid of dust on paint/ tires etc. when we've done a shoot, but I 've read lots of people talk about how dragging it along paint will bring on scratches... I have Ceramic coating on my car (not my choice, but dealer had it installed so I had to buy it) so wonder if this Rainx will be ok on it. Well, when you've spent a few weeks investigating, let me know!! 🤣
Hey, me again! I noted most of your shots were vertical, so assuming instagram end game? Curious if you delivered any pics or video to to Porsche for letting them loan out the car, or was this a paid gig? The photography portion is very interesting; the business end even more (for me)
Great questions! Yes vertical with intention for Instagram and I did some landscape as well for TH-cam or whatever the client might want. Porsche Centre Calgary loaned me the car with no strings attached, although I think having 90K subscribers has something to do with it and having positive brand representation towards them is a good thing. It is their loaner car though and I had limited KM allotment for this project. They didn’t ask for photos but I supplied it to them anyway for whatever they might need it for. I’m always trying to build positive relationships, especially when it comes to Porsche so I’m willing to give more for them. The business side is very interesting though when it comes to automotive. It’s a tough nut to crack.
@@TheCarCreative That makes perfect sense. Shooting cars in MB as a money making venture is very difficult; everyone wants pics, but very few want to spend money for decent photoshoot. I have yet to approach any dealerships as I think most would have corporate images to draw from. I still really like the problem solving aspect of a shoot; locations, lighting, people etc. I was an art teacher and loved the creative process, so shooting automobiles scratches that itch! I also test/review (mostly older) cars with my kids, friends etc. to determine if they're worthy of buying. This video of yours has inspired me to maybe do a behind the scenes video of a car shoot something soon. We all. need inspiration!
What would be your goto method on dealing with reflections? i have a CPL filter, but i cant always get all the reflections, so im left with some photos that have and some without. is there som photos you woul say needs reflections?
You’re right in that you can’t always win with reflections. I just spin it till I see the most flattering shaping of light on the car. Sometimes that means cutting reflections off the windshield and sometimes I prefer to cut off the side of the car. Just gotta go with what looks best for your eye and lighting conditions at the time.
Have you driven a Taycan? I understand your sentiment as I would also rather drive something that screams at me when I put the pedal down, but as far as electric cars go, the Taycan is veeerry sporty and fun to drive. Feels super dialed in.
REALLY- REALLY APPRECIATE you sharing camera settings with your pics as many of us are on that learning curve

So much to learn from you man... You're simply the best out there 🔥🔥🔥
That was nice of you to take pictures of the biker, too!
It was fun. Beautiful night and doesn’t really take me any more time =)

Hi man. Is it possible to get to know what power of Mist filter was? 1/8?
I used a 10% mist filter from Moment. I don’t know what that is for other brands like 1/4 strength or 1/8 unfortunately.

I do not.
Hey man, if you use final cut pro by any chance, could you make a video on how to edit videos on that?
Been using Final Cut for 12 years man! What do you want to know mostly?
@ colour grading night footage would be awesome!
I need to know settings on the go3S and if you graded
I graded it a little bit, desaturated the image, a touch, and then used my teal and orange LUT in my finishing LUTs pack.

What is the function of Panasonic S9?😮
I use it for broll and gimbal work. All the fancy video you saw in this was shot on S9. Little powerhouse of a camera.
Intro music ?
Musicbed brother. 👊🏼
at 12:42 I see dead bugs! =)
They were every where.
I'd rather drive a 4 cyl Boxster than this thing, even walking seems more interesting
