I think she probably didn’t because the door casing next to it is also wood which connects to the baseboards...so once you started you’d have to paint all the trim which would be a big job

A tip: number your cabinet doors. That will make it easier to reinstall. I also think I would have painted the inside of the cabinet doors to get rid of the golden oak. All in all the kitchen in 100x s better.
This turned out so beautifully! If I may add one thing; I would definitely suggest painting the trim around the window and door, maybe black to tie into the appliances and backsplash :)

I was thinking tint it to match the floor. It is a nice color, but it kinda clashes a bit with the whole thing. Beautiful kitchen though!

I noticed those painted corner tiles were the wrong way IMMEDIATELY and my OCD was like fix it please! Then when you put the tall plant in front of it I literally choked from laughing so hard. I honestly expected your mom to repaint it, not for you to hide it haha 😆 love you so much!!!

You should do a reno where your mum has to pick out all the pieces from your collection (or just shop them normally) and you have to make the reno work with what you have, like you can't go and get anything that might be missing etc 🤷♀️

Maybe do it like blindfolded. Like just ask her randomly which she likes best for each item and see if they go together

Yeah it threw me off since it’s the same color as the cabinets were so I feel like it’s kind of unfinished. I think using the same green as the bottom cabinets would’ve been cool, or even just the white would look nice. It still came out so beautiful though!

Well you gotta realize that the casings are in the whole house so it wouldn't be cohesive with the rest. I think there's a living room area in front of the kitchen with more windows so it wouldn't look good if just one window was painted.

Think about having a sister or daughter like Mia..not only she earns,she's beautiful,she can cook,does fashion designing,MUA,have so much talent n even does house renovation 😍I'm so in love with her❤❤
Might I suggest, when painting cabinets, dresser drawers, etc. mini foam rollers are the best for giving you a perfectly smooth finish! You can use a small brush to cut in lips- like where the raised borders around the cupboard fronts meet the center, but when rolling over flat surfaces you can't go wrong with mini foam rollers!
One of these days Mia will make me the happiest person alive by painting the back side of a door.

The kitchen doors woulds have looked better painted on the inside too. But it did look like alot of work 🥵 3 coats and those stencils 🥲

I feel like the stencil looked good when you had it spaced out on random tiles so you have a couple of accent tiles and would save a lot of time

How about alternating tiles and using a lighter black, like charcoal. It'll transition gradually from the white cabinets with black handles/sink faucet, to the white and grey counters.
Lay Saran Wrap over the painted stencils to remove some paint and leave an imperfect texture, making it look like a stamp. Don't hide the imperfect painting, highlight it.

I tried this and found so many things in my basement (we are also a hoarding household in a good way) I found some old dressers and tons of gold and boho decorations. We also have so much paint, but my parents won't let me paint my room. I'm extra excited to film my bedroom make over this summer!

Mia. I’m a barber and have carpal tunnel. I’m 27, lol. I just went to a hand surgeon and got steroid shots in my hands, they like inject the steroid into the carpal tunnel in your wrist. Look into it! My pain completely went away ! Using your hands everyday for your job , it’s important to not be in pain ! Hopefully this helps ! ❤️

Fusion mineral paint is incredible! I love that you have a whole collection of colours 😍 I painted my kitchen cabinets a year and a half ago with it and literally have zero chipping or peeling. Just a hint about Ultra Grip, it’s meant to be covered entirely with paint because it’s resin. I honestly wouldn’t have bothered with it on the tile, as long as you top coat. Great makeover! And fyi Fusion is a Canadian female owned business 👑
can you do a video where you try “modest” swimsuits/ brands? as in not cheeky & doesn’t show much cleavage.. with a variety of prices? swimsuit season is coming up and a lot of people prefer modest swimsuits, but not a lot of people make videos about them!

Yes and include some long sleeve options! I'm not going for modesty, but I haaaaate having to stop and reapply sunscreen all day and still inevitably have some patch on my back or shoulders get burned

the resin does wonders for the counters, my mom had me do it on the kitchen table and it looks not nearly as good as this but its so much nicer than before. i would seriously recommend anybody try it if youre able to. (resin is usually food safe for the record)

The only question I have is, did you have to put a protective coat on top of that paint? Also I’m wanting to paint my vanity, and I noticed you didn’t sand the cupboards first. Do you not have to with that brand of paint?
I would sand it first, then the paint will last a lot longer
A top coat will probably make it easier to clean, but it's not necessary. If it's in your bathroom, maybe you should add a clear varnish on top?
Yeah, i was thinking too: won't the paint chip without sanding? You could also use a soft scouring pad to roughen up the surface. But I wouldn't paint over it without doing something like that.

Especially because one of those had a white brush stroke😑
Totally get why this bugs some people as it stands out a lot but from personal experience painting is always so much more time and work than you expect it to be. Especially with cabinets vs walls. And if you’re doing two sides of something you have to paint one side, let it dry, then do the whole thing over again and by that point you’re over the whole process. Or at least I was. I just did a bathroom cabinet and it sucked, so I don’t blame her for not wanting to do it for a whole kitchen
