I can totally relate to the "Itch". It's great that your husband is supportive and even give you comments. I have a husband who hates change (I can't fault him). I get the urge to remodel and redecorate all the time. But often I don't dare to do it bcos changes give him a headache, and I'm also too fearful of doing it wrong - and waste time and money in the process

Our flat is currently too small to be decorated, but we currently think about moving. Since I am German, I can get pretty much a 1:1 copy of what you do :D
The blue backsplash adds a lot as you have very limited colours in your home. You always need at least one pop of colour to not make it boring and you finally did it.

I always keep these bags of silica gel you get whenever you buy things like bags? I put them in every drawer and cupboard to absorb moisture. We also have a refillable dehumidifier in every room that runs overly humid!

Oh very beautiful. Havent known that blue will fit so well. Myself i would choose something more terracotta or rust color.. or maybe sage. But this looks really really good❤ love your taste for interior!
My sister lives in France and most of the buildings in her neighbourhood have those exterior, electrically operated blinds. When I stayed with her last year, I had the best sleep because the room was pitch black.

I like it better more now it looks more homey. You could just put real tiles and use a metal tile edge behind the MDF with the screws going through the MDF into the tile edge. Then you would only have the screw holes to patch and you could use real tile and Koch along the edges on the counter. Since you’re going so far to use MDF already I feel you might as well use real tiles on the MDF.
Id probably also put the microwave on a shelf or a cubby hangin on the wall where it is now so that you can use the counterspace for working on or something else :D
I almost did that, but then I remembered that in our old apt we used to have the micrwave on a shelf and I really hated it because I'm so short with weak arm strength 😂 I love it on the counter since we use it everyday to heat up mealpreps or steam stuff! ☺️

At the very beginning of the video when I saw blue tiles, I wasn't so sure😊, kept wondering why did you not think of a shade of green😀, but later when I saw you putting the tiles on, I realized why you decided on it. It looks phenomenal with the curtain & the upgraded floating shelves😍. Loved it ❤. BTW, I have the same little duck shakers, except that mine are grey with a red bow😃.

I think caulking the bottom between countertops and backsplash would elevate the hole look and make it more functional for cleaning 😊

The additional shelves actually took a month to arrive but I think they were worth it 😅
It looks amazing!! I recommend you put silicone between the backslpash and the countertop in case some water can damage the mdf so it gets bumpy

Actually I was fighting against myself to choose blue instead of green! But we already have 2 green rooms so I risked it 😅
