Chomsky has no conscience. Psychiatric studies clearly show people on his side of the political spectrum rank low in conscientiousness. Have misplaced false empathy. Are more likely to have dark triad traits and mental instability. Clearly evident in here.
The most often repeated finding in psychology is that a left leaning bias is a symptom of mental instability. Repeated across decades and in studies all around the world.
"Undoubtedly the two most consistently found relationships are the positive effect of conscientiousness on right-wing voting and the positive effect of openness to experience on left-wing voting. Conscientious individuals are theorised to be more conservative because they take greater heed of social norms, valuing order and accomplishments that are socially proscribed. Open-minded individuals are more accepting of unconventional social behavior and unorthodox economic policies that are generally associated with the left.

16:34 What a class act! At 96 Dr Chomsky knows more about the so-called liberation of Italy of 1944 by Allied forces, than the average Italian. He correctly states that by then, most of Italy had been already freed by the _partigiani_ and King Vittorio Emanuele III was fleeing leaving everything in the hands of Gen. Badoglio. The economic damage that the Anglo-saxons inflicted upon worker based ownership of enterprises is something I wasn't aware of and will definitely dig deeper.

I remember seeing a documentary about an American Agribusiness company moving in to Haiti to “assist” the local dairy milk production which was simply local farmers with a couple of cows supplying the needs of the people. The US imported milk into Haiti at such a low price that local farmers ended up pouring their milk on the ground and getting rid of their cattle because they could not compete . Eventually , all native milk production ceased completely and the market became totally controlled by big US producers. This kind of economic disruption tactic has been used all over the world .
This happened in Jamaica as well because of IMF terms I believe. Local milk producers had to literally open the tanks and release the milk to dispose of it.

We'll come to a broader conclusion regarding the contribution of these and some other (marginalised) Great Thinkers of our time that were key for us to keep some sense of civilisation against the backdrop of an extremely reactionary late stage Empire, the US led Collective West and more narrowly the Anglo-Saxon core of it.

Honor to Professor Noam
Chomsky !!!
Incredibly intelligent man! I'm so glad I saw him lecture at a University with friends.
Great interview. What an intellectual giant. He hasnt been recognised in accordance with his contribution during his lifetime because of his political outlook. But he'll be remembered widely with deep admiration in a few generations time while his sell out peers will be quickly forgotten.
Thank you Noam, for being that voice of reason in the wilderness. Legacy will live on. You've done your work! Suffered a huge stroke apparently. ❤
Such a kind, incredibly intelligent man😌❤
I can feel his words when he talks about the miseries of people the Haitian, Cubans, Kurds and the Palestinians … crimes and mass punishment with the support of the US Administrations. God bless you and we salute your humane conscience and courage to say the truth.
I second that thought with Feeling ❤

Thank you for this great interview. What a clarity of analysis, what integrity. Thanks NM and Matt for your journalism.
Chomsky's knowledge of history and politics is encyclopedic but his most important quality is his role as educator. A true treasure. We need him now more than ever.
Thank you both.
No matter how many videos featuring Prof. Chomsky I see, I always learn something new and hear a side of a story I had not heard before.
This generates more questions than it answers, as always.

Noam Chomsky is the most renowned intellectual and visionary person, his rich knowledge, teaching, interviews, books … are wealth of knowledge that can pass across borders and generations. Indeed he is a man of integrity, humane conscience and courage to say the truth that he believes in even if it does not suit those in political or economic power.

A great interview that teaches so much about global politics. Mr. Chomsky is a national treasure.
I've been reading Chomsky since the early 1990s. He really opened my eyes to a credible alternative analysis of media and politics.
Legend.

Do you agree with him that the ONLY reason Finland joined NATO, regardless of it's neighbour's ongoing invasion of another neighbour, was for the "Finnish Industrial Military Complex" to make more money?
Is that credible?
I too happened to read 'Manufacturing Consent' in the early 1990s, being already an avid reader of Pasolini's 1975 'Scritti corsari' (Pirate Writings) at the time. Thanks to the Internet, I've never ceased to follow him on a kind of daily basis for the last 25 years. Fantastic interview! The older I get the more I realize that every empire is built around oppression and manufactured consent ((a term I heard “somewhere”)) of the people they oppress. I never knew all that Haiti went through… my brother was in Haiti in the late 90’s in the army. We never thought allot about the politics involved…
Learning from the amazing Noam Chomsky since the 1960s. He never gives up, and gets right to the core of the truth.
I've never agreed with his liberal economic philosophy but Noam Chomsky's expositions have ALWAYS been the closest thing to THE TRUTH that the American people have ever been privy to. He is a TRUE NATIONAL TREASURE!
Like everything else, all things come to and end in one way or another. This man paid his dues beyond measure. Learn from him. Close ranks, and march. Thats how you honour this great man.
I'm not sure marching is what Chomsky is suggesting. I would rather get on with co-creating the more beautiful world our hearts know is possible.

I came across Noam Chomsky 10 years ago, and have enjoyed every moment of listening to his knowledge, humility, integrity, and education since then. Thank you Noam for enlightening so many, including myself.
I have always had the greatest respect for one of the most respected linguistics & scholars of our time...
