Just a suggestion: As you were flying around bridge abutments on each side of the river upstream are large concrete chunks of the old tower structure of the old Bringle Ferry. As you fly around you could make it a history lesson.
Where was the ferry located? Was it where the bridge is, above it, or below it? I get to Tuckertown Reservoir quite a bit, but have never been in there on a boat, just to the little recreation area on the Rowan County side of the bridge.

The ferry was just a few yards upstream from bridge. Concrete foundations are still there.
