The 525 sq ft is pretty big by NY standard. She made it look bigger by keeping it an open-plan with no dividing solid walls. In some buildings, they would have made it into a 1-bedroom apartment by switching the windowed kitchen area as bedroom.
I'm an outdoor gardner was not into indoor plants much. But after seeing youtube channels and lots of plants like this. I have lots now. Love them . Pothos for me are the easiest and look good !! 😊
@@honeybdream At about :58 you can see that it's hung from cup hooks screwed into the ceiling. My guess is that the window frame is made of balsa strips glued together with panels of clear plastic (from cheap picture frames) to form the panes. (If you were particularly handy with an xacto knife, you might be able to make it with foam core, which would be even lighter.)
Idk where you live but 525 sq feet is def not considered small, especially for new york. I am one of a family of four and I live in a 1000 square feet apartment in NY. Compare this to half of it with a single person living in it.
@@uaenaonce8231 What is small and large is definitely relative based on a person's experience and where they are from. I live in Vermont (though I have also lived in Nevada and Rhode Island) and 525 ft is absolutely considered small by my standards. I think city dwellers have a much different view of space than folks from rural areas, since there's not really a need to pack people in here.
Justina Kenyon agreed I want her to create this experience in my apartment but I would need some kitchen cabinets for my shoes and storage for sure!!! I like the light look she created however
GREAT TASTE! I’ve been an interior design junkie for about 40 years and it’s the first time I’ve ever seen that use of large, suspended window panes to define space in the middle of an apartment. Very clever. I’m so enjoying this TH-cam series!
I was born in NY and raised in Williamsburg Brooklyn. I moved to NJ 35 years ago. I still visit relatives who live there. I love the brownstones. Watching this video makes me nostalgic.
I appreciate not only her understanding of design but, her application of it. The drawers for storage is clever. Her creative project of collecting paper, and jewelry. Well done.
Everything about this apartment is so amazing! The window as a divider. The flat file, wow. The gorgeous plants. The natural light. The minimalism is peaceful. This is one of my favorites.
can i just state that these people have a lot of depth to them and they just have so much to express. so much personality and emotion and experience to channel into their apartments and i absolutely LOVE IT. god i miss new york. the people are just so intense and full of range.
That is from life experiences and going to COLLEGE. LIVING IN NEW YORK AND being exposed to culture and museums and arts and fashion. Learn from this!! If you desire to be able to travel and own your home and have something to say make damn sure you go to COLLEGE AND NEVER STOP LEARNING. Otherwise you have a rude awakening to how the other half live. The poor souls who dropped out of high school and are working their a$$ off and still have nothing. No vacations no new car nothing to say.
oh my goodness!! that sign, "spread love, it's the brooklyn way" is the first thing i saw when i came out of the subway. it was my first time in new york, and i had to carry my heavy suitcase up the subway stairs. i was very flustered, but when i saw that sign i couldn't resist to smile and take a picture of it
This has to be one of the most gorgeous micro apartments I have ever seen! LOVE LOVE LOOOOVE all the plants, and how she placed them appropriately for their light requirements. Amazing space!!!
I Love Small Spaces... The amount of Creativity needed to Make them Functional. Cozy. Annnd your Own is Amazing!!! And this Young Lady has Added a New Layer of Amazing to her Small Space. Yay!!!
Such an interesting apartment - love all her ideas, the artwork! Especially love the 'no upper cabinets in kitchen' - I've always loved that look - so uncluttered - feels like you can breathe. She certainly did put a lot of love into her home!
Absolutely a beautiful and neat space - never leave Brooklyn! The window frame as a piece of interest and to create a separation of spaces is perfect! I also love to come home to a clean, neat cozy space that is mine. Your space is so my style! Thanks for sharing ❣️🌿
I love your passion when you say I love when I come home and...that is mine. You earned it. It's beautiful and cozy and looks so much bigger than the sq ftage. Welllll done!
chill chick. Love it. I'm currently living in a 750 square foot apartment with my hubby and we have literally one giant window. I feel like I never get enough light and I'm convinced it's because I have too much shit (furniture) in front of it - so I'm inspired - moving things away and then getting a ton of plants - I'm trying. Thanks for the inspo. :)
Este canal y este espacio siempre llenan mi ser y mi vida de alegrías sin fin, frescura, abundancia en todo lo bueno y de las cosas mas hermosas. Gracias
That large space between the kitchen and livingroom looks like it was supposed to be the sleeping area. If it accessed natural light, I guess that would've been a gamechanger. I totally understand why your bed is in the other room instead. Your place is spacious, and like another commenter referenced, I love the artwork and plant shelf in the kitchen too. A little bit of nature and something to nurture, goes a long way toward creating good vibes in the home. Great space and decor!
This is probably the best apartment they've covered. Such a great use of space and the host is very articulate; explaining design without peppering her sentences with "like".
Excellent ideas for her spacious place! She's decorated it well! How ingenious was her divider! Spreading Love & Light is right! That view brings in beautiful light! ⭐🏆⭐
I love that she JUST talks about the space and her design inspiration(s) It’s irritating and monotonous when someone in their “home tour” walks around describing EVERY SINGLE ITEM in their home🙄. Too many TH-camrs don’t get how annoying that is. Great view by the way!
carla mdonald omg I know right?! It’s like just talk about the main parts. I don’t care about the different types of lipstick you have or the kinds of kitchen utensils.
I saw one who explained everything down to her "water boiler what will boil water for you'. She showed us her kettle. It was literally a kettle. Not even a fancy one.
So inspirational. Sooo beautiful. I just love how neat and clean it is and yet so full of things that makes sense to u. I love it. I have watched this many times for inspiration.
You are beautiful and centered. Enjoyed immensely your story behind the harmony and functionality of your living space. I appreciate you sharing. Thanks
This space feels so much bigger than it is. Obsessed with the artwork and that shelf in the kitchen with all the plants.

J. Flaner Sooo beautifully done!👏👏
Agree 💯
I love that idea of the window separating the space
The Girl in Apt 201 I wonder how she hung it up⁉️ I may replicate it.

That's the only thing I don't like. I'd need a thin curtain. But the rest ist perfect!
She really knows what she's talking about. This is probably the best use of a small space I've ever seen.

Love her window divider, her flat cabinet storage unit, her view, her kitchen.
Her binoculars have just reminded me to install curtains
hahah same!

Such a beautiful apartment! I'd live there! Love the window separating bed and living areas.

Very nice! Very clean! Vert tidy! You know where everything is because of being neat and tidy!
One of the only studio apartments that seems homey, clean and spacious. Love all the colors that contrast each other!
Way to ecclectic to be homey. Homey is doileys and crochet blanket.and Tupperware with photos of grandkids. We don't want homey unless your 78.

OBSESSED with her apartment. Really like her as well
The flat file 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽. I didn’t even know I needed one until I saw it.
any other creatives out there crying over that flat file? ONE DAY!!!
Lol I feel you.
Same
Absolutely. I'm an illustrator and don't have that. My tears create a waterfall whenever I'm reminded that I need one.
YES!!!
Not even a creative but someone with a lot of ideas and projects. I want that

Its a sign of someone with a discerning eye when they can furnish a space with a jumble of stuff and somehow unify it. Good job!
