Photographer of Deadheads - Bill Lemke - Photo Shoot & Interview 🇺🇸 4K

The Grateful Dead were perhaps the greatest American rock band in history & no two concerts were the same. Every concert was like a wild festival attended by devoted fans who went to every show of the tour, or even of the year, or multiple years, selling crafts, clothing, jewelry, illicit substances, food, & more, to keep the trip rolling. The parking lot became a camp ground of tents, hippy buses, & vans, & nearby hotel room floors were filled with crashed out hippies & ganja smoke. From 1987 a teenage Seeker of the Way followed this classic band across the USA, concert to concert, with the tribe of hippies known as Deadheads, through to the end of 1992, eventually becoming one of the more well-known denizens of the scene. The journey took Seeker of the Way to practically every corner of the USA.
In 1988, after hitchhiking with backpack & guitar across the USA from San Francisco to Alpine Valley, Wisconsin a 20 year old Seeker of the Way met Bill Lemke, a professional photographer who was at the Grateful Dead concerts using an old style camera doing artistic photo shoots of Deadheads. Bill took a photo of Seeker of the Way that ended up being the center piece of an exhibition inside Grateful Dead concerts that featured many prominent Deadheads.
In recent times, Bill Lemke has started a project to compliment his amazing & extensive collection of Deadhead photos by compiling them into what will be a classic photography book with 'before & after' shots. Bill has been meeting up with Deadheads from past days to take photos which will feature alongside the old photos accompanied by a biography of each person. It's a beautiful tribute & memorial to Deadheads & the Grateful Dead.
