    This is really good. I think your model suited the ' theme ' very well and the lighting was perfect. I really need to make some use of my old Pentax 645.

    Hey Mitch, could you make a video on budget setups? Many of us with limited budgets and are unsure which brands offer the best value. Thanks, and nice outfit by the way!

      For photos, a really tight budget, squeeze in A6400 if you can, cause it has Shutter Speed Limit, that way you can work around limitations of budget camera having two dials.
      Lens would be Sigma 16mm and Viltrox 56mm for prime and Sigma 18-50mm for zoom.
      If you shoot ultrawide it would be Viltrox 13mm for primes or Sigma 10-18mm for zoom.
      Choose whatever you like based on your taste and liking.
      Mine would be the Viltrox 13mm and Sigma 56mm (a little bit more expensive)
      Lastly, most important is lighting, buy one cheap or small flash such as Godox 520 or Sony F20M and you’ll be set.
      You are already 89% there with your equipment to a professional that are making money, I am speaking based on my exp, the upgrades after this point is negligible but are quality of life improvements and minor increase in image quality.

      Sure can! I think it really will depend on exactly what you want to shoot and your goals so it will be different for everyone but I can definitely share my opinion on it.

      @@MitchLally I think most of us are after something that does both photos and videos really well. Photography is my main focus, but I still care about solid video features too. Thanks Mitch.

    I'd love to see the post process (scanning & editing), shooting for the highlights always make it hard for me to get shadow detail.

    Very interesting video, thanks! Do you sometimes bring a diffusor or reflector when you shoot outdoors? Would be very interesting to see how these are used properly in such difficult conditions. Cheers!

    Gotta say I shoot in "harsh" light. If its 11am to 3pm who cares I shoot anyways and I adjust accordingly. Golden hour is cool but... meh I am drunk by then. 😂

  • @jerfareza
    @jerfareza 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    To be honest I wouldn't call that kind of light harsh. It's the opposite actually, it's the best time to take photos. In my mind, I'd consider a harsh light when the sun is on top of my head and casting a straight shadow.

    • @MitchLally
      @MitchLally  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Harsh or hard light is undiffused light, usually from a relatively small point, such as the sun. I think you’re confusing light direction with light quality.

    “The sun is quite low in the sky, which is helping in this scenario.” You’re not talking about harsh light, but high contrast light. Harsh light is extremely bright light with high contrast in the middle of the day, where colours are washed out and nothing looks as good as it should… at least that’s what my opinion of harsh light is.😂 peace.

    • @MitchLally
      @MitchLally  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Harsh light creates high contrast, it isn’t high contrast by nature. I think you’re confusing light direction with light quality.

    • @segzeeman7356
      @segzeeman7356 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MitchLally you said the light quality was good and helping. Ok, so you consider any light that creates high contrast is harsh. I consider harsh light ugly light. There’s a big difference between high contrast light when sun is high in the sky vs low in the sky, yes? Low sun light is better quality than high sun light, yes?

    • @MitchLally
      @MitchLally  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@segzeeman7356I think the contrast is the same whether the sun is high or low - crisp sharp shadows still happen in the morning and evening. It has more to do with the sun being such a small point in the sky relative to us down here on earth :)
