Thank you so much for posting this video. Carl Johnson was my grandfather but my only memories are after he suffered a terrible stroke. I never heard him speak until now.

No more than a passing reference to the 'Mighty Wurlitzer' theatre pipe organs. Ah well, nothing lasts for ever!

Another great "how it's made" film. I am glad these films have been preserved as a testament of good old American know how and might. Sadly, something relegated to the past.

One of my favorites. Wish there were still a lot of manufacturers like this here and now in the US.

China got us beat, due to low labor cost. Americans are demanding $15 to $30 an hour, how would we compete with made in China, when they only pay much less to each worker.

I wonder if that organ was the electro static reed organ? Sadly acquired by Baldwin in 1988 as manufacturing was moved over seas. I had heard that Gibson Guitar acquired both Baldwin and Wurlitzer, and I then tried to apply as a manufacturing worker and piano tuner, but sadly those pianos are made in China.

Did they forget about the band organs?

I am wondering whatever became of Wurlitzer Corporation? Was it sold to another Corp? Did they merge with another Corp? Anyone know?

Baldwin Piano & Organ acquired Wurlitzer in 1988; Gibson bought many of the Wurlitzer assets in 1996; Gibson sold Wurlitzer branded products between 2006 and 2013, but still sells replacement parts.

It was sold to Baldwin in 1988 and later acuired by Gibson Guitar. But sadly both Baldwin and Wurlitzer pianos are made in China.
