Happy new year!!
Healthy and Happy new year 2024
Thank you
Awesome demonstration!
Just in case anyone needs to know 😂
How big of an area do you work at a time? Or when do you know to add another drop or two of coating?
The size of the area will be determined by how comfortable you are with the coating. Generally about the size of the front fender.
You apply more to the applicator when it starts getting grabby.
Just wondering, could you explain what a high spot is and what it will look like on the surface of the vehicle. If you notice a high spot after a little while, can it be fixed, and how long have you got to be able to fix it? TIA!! Really enjoying your videos!!!
Here’s a tutorial on that and more

@@diydetailofficial Thank You very much!! Great video, shows and answers all my questions.
Thank you
About your ‘Stack’ , you mostly talk about layering the 8 with the 3 year … what about the 5 and then the 3 year?
Thank you,
Almost as good
Light pressure for leveling and insurance wipe? Lovin the vids!
The least amount possible
First!! Happy New Year!!
Happy new year!!
Quick question. Can you use they applicator pad and the towels to do the entire vehicle? Or do you need to switch them out every few panels? Just curious because im not sure if the coating will harden on the pad and towels after a few minutes.
No need, one of each is all you need.
@diydetailofficial thank you!!
Thanks again for these wonderful tips!
Also, was this video intentionally set to LUT treatment?
Thanks! No it wasn't, why do you ask?
@@diydetailofficial the video treatment looks grayish, like LUT from cameras 😅
@@diydetailofficial i now get it! I should watch it in full screen/landscape to get the colors 😄👍🏽 cheers!
Happy new year to allllllll!!!!
Happy new year!!
I see some ceramic coating have a 7H scale of scratches or swirls resistant or even a 10H can i know the hardness scale of your ceramic coating line because there lots off ceramic coating withe less swirl resistant . So the info that i know is the higher the (H) scale is the more swirl resistant is so can u explain to me please ❤
It’s 9h ( 10h is a marketing trick)
Just wondering what gsm microfiber do you recommend for second wipe/polish?
300 and up, it’s not really important, use what you have
What white color is your walls and what sheen level you reccomend for a garage?
As bright a white as you can get, satin finish
What happens if you level the coating too fast without seeing the oil slick.have you still coated the vehicle? Will it last? I don’t know if I’ve seen this detail on any previous video
Yes, you will be fine, it’s just your leveling towel will get wet.
Yes, you will be fine, it’s just your leveling towel will get wet.
When you wash this vehicle after coating application, you would drying with ceramic spray to maintain the coating, correct?
You can, but it’s not required
what is the cure time after applying the ceramic coating?
1 hour before driving and getting wet, 7 days before washing
Some detailers advise to apply in one direction rather than circular motions as you guys are doing, what is the reason for that?
Some companies give that directive. In the end it’s up to the user, the car or coating doesn’t care. The reason we advocate circular motion is it uses less coating, it’s easier on you, and less chance of high spots.

Would it be possible to add some fluorescent solvent carrier that lets you see right away where you applied your coating but evaporates as it flashes . I need that on light colored cars, now that would be an invention 😂
We’ve tried, it compromised the durability.
You're setting the bar high for others.
Coating is something anyone can do.
Can I put a Ceramic Coating on a wrapped car?
Yes!
Did I notice that the headlights are not coated? Is that for any reason or is the coating not suitable for the them? 🤔
We did them, they may have not made the edit.
I fail to see how this is any different from applying it to any other vehicle, what did I miss?
Correct
You should be able to coat at least two midsize cars with your 30ml bottle, correct?
Yes
missed a spot :-/ Sure you will go back and fix it though hahaha
It could have disappeared to editing…
Whatever you do, do not waste your money on the "STACK" option. There isn't enough product in the bottles to complete a full coat on your car so the whole thing is a waste of money. The bottles of the 8-year and the 3-year are not full. They send you what they estimate will be one coat only. However, it only covers 2/3 of a car so the whole project is ruined. Now I cannot put the three year coat on and have it "bond" with the 8-year coating AND I now have to buy a full bottle of the 8-year (another $150) to "finish" one coat on my car -- what a rip off! Soooooo disappointed. Save your money. If you want to put two coats on-- you'd better buy two FULL bottles of what you want. I have purchased $584.01 of their products and now have to spend another $150. It will be the last dollar I spend on their products... ever. You lost an advocate/customer here guys. Shame.
Sounds like you applied the product too thick or you applied it on a stretched limousine. I’ve applied coating to a Cadillac Escalade ESV and a Chevrolet Suburban and didn’t use 30 ml of a coating. 🙀
I get two vehicles out of each bottle 🤷🏾♂️
Definitely an installer issue.
Marcy, I understand your frustration, and no you don’t have to purchase another bottle. As we mentioned in the response to your email, another bottle will be sent as soon as our warehouse opens after the holiday.
We have never had a bottle with a shortage, but anything is possible. The bottles are not full, they have 30ml in them, enough to coat 2 midsize vehicles, like your Mazda.
Our bottles are made of Aluminum, so very lightweight. This gives the impression that there is less in the bottle compared to a bottle made of glass.
Wow, seriously why all the hate? I’m sure Nick and Ivan will take care of you. What other company would reply to you on a holiday weekend?
