I always want to root for anything but the TRX-4 but that damn thing seems to do alright 90% of the time. Gotta give to to Traxxas, they built a good machine.

Awesome video as always guys! However, I think the Gen 8 Axe should be in there. I've been crawling with my friends lately and I've been out crawling every other crawler they have. I have only put Vanquish metal beadlock rims on it too!
Nice video guys, your quality Is increasing every Video! The Vanquish performs nice but My next crawler will be the TRX4 because I live in Germany and there are no Vanquish dealers in our country. The TRX4 also does quite well and you can get a lot of Traxxas or tuning parts in Germany too. Would you recommend buying the TRX4 Lift Kit to increase the droop, like you did in a older video?

Congrats to vanquish. That 6x6 though. I recently purchased a white one and it’s beast. I named it The Bully. Also happy with the TRX4 Blazer. Just picked up some samix brass for it.
Francis, Four-screen videos was kewl way to compare the four vehicles. Don't see any way to add another vehicle to display five screens effectively. Interesting that those four shootout vehicles match exactly what are currently in my personal stable of crawlers. Love the Vanquish VS4-10 Pro for its stability on technical climbs with a relatively heavy body. Wish Vanquish would make a lighter 1-piece replacement body for the performance oriented. Can't wait to get a DIG on it. Greatly appreciate my greatly modified Enduro Kit crawler. With custom placed battery and Vanquish bumpers, it is a strong overall contender. It also plays well in the water. Would certainly like to see a DIG unit offered for it. The Capra Kit buggy with a few mods is a most capable sidehiller and does get up some challenging V-shaped creases better than the truck-bodied vehicles where being able to view all four tires is helpful. The DIG unit is great for ultra tight turns and downhilling steep descents. And the TRX4 Sport Kit with mods has been a brute of a crawler that has endured a year of crawling with only one portal pinion having failed after a 20-25 foot fall on its very first outing...My fault! LOL. Wife has an SCX10 II which will be upgraded with a Vanquish chassis in the near future. Hoping to bring it closer to the level of the Enduro and TRX4 with that change. You
At this and Darrell has been performing awesome with the 6% as you can see in our previous video. But then conditions were a little slick so it didn’t fare as well this time around. We will definitely install the 12%
I love the simultan 4 picture versus video!!Winner vanquish! But how would crawl the Ultra these obstacles? I ordered a capra next to test what can this crawl on my extreme sidehill obstacles.
Ahh, it didn't make the cut as the Axe or the Scout II can only complete half of the challenges. Just too top heavy and it's not easy to change the body with those velcro mounts and heavy fenders. We might give it a go though. SCX10 II too.
I was impressed with my OG Gen8 and am REALLY impressed with my Axe edition. I will say though, I get it... The Gen8s take a handful of small upgrades and mods to get them where they should be out of the box - and competing with something like an RTR SCX10 II. IMO, anyway.

@@ConditionZero76 I love my OG Gen8 and my Axe Edition, don't get me wrong. I'm a fan, for sure. BUT... the front end is garbage, on both models (still the same on the Axe edition). Drag link to steering link setup (poor strength and geometry), pan hard bar setup, on both ends (again, poor strength and geometry - the axle-side mount is the first thing to strip/come loose. It needs to be connected to the C Hub or reinforced greatly. The chassis-side mount is too high to for the drag link to match it's angle. The poor servo positioning plays a role in this as well. All of this leads to a weak front end with bump steer and an off-center front axle at normal ride height.) Now, outside of those few things, I don't think anyone can hold a candle to the Gen8 in the RTR Crawler market at the moment. I don't look at the front end issues on the Gen8 as a deal breaker, just a pain in the ass that I know I'm going to have to fix. Hopefully Redcat keeps up the good work and continues to make improvements.
@@PaulRawlins2 I hear you & I agree with you especially on the Axe gen 8 at $5 hun dollars, but most if not all of these crawlers have there downfall one way or the other. , plus with a small piece of metal 2 holes drilled in it bent in the correct configuration takes care of a good 85 % of that problem your speaking on. it stinks tho we should even have to deal with that for $500 plus dollars, but then again the TRX-4 $$$ (Great Rig) but has its dowside with a $145 dollar alone Top Heavy body, they all have something here or there unless you buy a vanquish for $1,500.00 plus & call it a day LOL...... I just think its weird that they never compare the axe to anything like if it's junk!!

If you have the opportunity to change. it's not a bad idea. That vehicle is good about 5 year old chassis. So it can't keep up with these new upstarts.
I’ve got Vanquish Currie axles on my SCX10 Rubicon, they are amazing. I probably have more $$ in it than the Vanquish costs, but started the build when the SCX 10 was new.
The Vanquish and the Traxxas perform the best since they are so planted and rigid. However, downhill is deeply affected by motor selection so we didn't show that as much. Brushless, sensored motors like the Hobbywing Axe or Holmes Puller Pro descend so well since they have controlled drag brag at idle or at low throttle. The TRX-6 descends the best since it will not flip over forward due to length.

I added a TRX4 Sport this week to my fleet based on your love of that vehicle. Now it looks like its time to save for the Vanquish. The new VS4-Ultra is my next vehicle. Francis, to say your TRX-4 Sport is UPGRADED - is the understatement of 2019!!! The Element, at least what I've HEARD, is an outstanding all-arounder. However NEEDS weight and Chassis stiffening. The Capra and VS4-10 Pro are almost in another League! And the Capra would be more in its element in U4RC style Racing - but is actually a competent Crawler!! Can't believe I missed this! why do you always use the trx-4 sport for comparisons instead of the non sport with far better oprions better gearing etc, just switch the top heavy body out??
Like the channel. 👍 I my self would like to see more scale setups. For example comparing front mounted motors vs. non scale mid mounted motors, Leaf springs vs. coil and front mounted motor rockcrawlers vs. Mid. I think this will make for a better comparison of each manufacturer's design .Take care

Just curious what do think about Carisma? I'm looking to get my first 1/10 crawler and am sold on the trx 4 sport but man I like the look of the carisma sca-1e f150 body. Do you think the carisma has potential?
It's really not that good. Nice to have the option but the quality and design is not there. And then there are hardly 3rd party upgrade parts available. If the price was much lower, it would be more attractive as an option compared to an Element RC or TRX-4 Sport.

I can't decide what I want for my next rtr... I currently have a Discovery TRX4 with about every upgrade you can buy for it and I use it strictly as a trail truck. I want something that's good on rocks now. Do I want a Capra or a Bomber? And it looks like the Bomber 2.0 just came out!
Our best recommendation is at TRX-6 with a brushless motor. Hobbywing Axe 550 is best. Of those two, the Capra is much better vehicle. The Bomber is good for rock racing but it's so dated. And the 2.0 didn't change much.
great rigs, all of them are super capable. each one needs its own fine tuning. my next will be another trx4 sport, i already have 2 elements, i just cant swing the vanquish rig, and im not huge on a tube chassis style rig, but will be building something using capra axles in the future.
I like and have the TRX4 Spirt. As others have mentioned I’m not a fan of Traxxas as a company especially about their marketing and legal bullying, but they’ve built a great package. I couldn’t justify the Vanquish price (unless it was USA manufactured which it’s not). I just took the expedition rack of my TRX4 Sport that I built from the assembly kit. I’m looking forward to not flipping over. I’m also looking at changing tires and foams. I’m looking at either the Proline Predator Hyrax or the BFG Krawlers. Have you put the BFG Krawlers up against the Hyrax yet? They seem to be getting some good press. The Landmines look good too but they are still on backorder everywhere
I would love to see how the SCX10 III compares to these... as well as the Element with some work, like shock adjustments or thicker oil, and the Vanquish ULTRA is my new dream truck...

RC Review I think the Ascender can keep up with the Element just fine with only a few cheap and simple mods.

I added a TRX4 Sport this week to my fleet based on your love of that vehicle. Now it looks like its time to save for the Vanquish. The new VS4-Ultra is my next vehicle. Only wish it had room for a 550 motor.

Did the TRX-6 have any upgrades at the end? I saw the wheels were different....
no upgrades. Just Hyrax tires on beadlocks, like the other vehicles on this test.

Francis, to say your TRX-4 Sport is UPGRADED - is the understatement of 2019!!!
The Element, at least what I've HEARD, is an outstanding all-arounder. However NEEDS weight and Chassis stiffening.
The Capra and VS4-10 Pro are almost in another League! And the Capra would be more in its element in U4RC style Racing - but is actually a competent Crawler!!

Could that possibly of had anything to do with it ? My Capra kills courses ? I realize this is an older vid but its a Great one as always

If element rc has metal chassis, can it beat the vanquish?
The Element RC can benefit from a very stiff chassis. We're actually planning on putting on the Vanquish chassis on it.
It won't really be considered a element then will it?

Overall the Trx-4 overall if u think price and what you get out of the box is the best...awesome comparison
why do you always use the trx-4 sport for comparisons instead of the non sport with far better oprions better gearing etc, just switch the top heavy body out??

Like the channel. 👍 I my self would like to see more scale setups. For example comparing front mounted motors vs. non scale mid mounted motors, Leaf springs vs. coil and front mounted motor rockcrawlers vs. Mid.
I think this will make for a better comparison of each manufacturer's design .Take care

Thank you for the kind words. For selling, we're just pushing them through Facebook to the San Jose, CA buyers. That way we get to hand them off to the right buyers. Hate shipping but we'll go that route if we have any difficulty.
How much is the vanquish compared to the rest??? Trx4 sport can do the same for a lot less in my opnion just my 2 cents

Just curious what do think about Carisma? I'm looking to get my first 1/10 crawler and am sold on the trx 4 sport but man I like the look of the carisma sca-1e f150 body. Do you think the carisma has potential?
It's really not that good. Nice to have the option but the quality and design is not there. And then there are hardly 3rd party upgrade parts available. If the price was much lower, it would be more attractive as an option compared to an Element RC or TRX-4 Sport.

@@coolsunraybeam3940 Nope. The frequency of that squeak increases with motor speed so it must be something drivetrain related.

Totally agree. Can't believe there's no body options yet for the trx6. Many end up making their own body.
@@RCReviewChannel would be cool to leave the first bck axle out and fabricate a c20 crewcab-longbed exmilitary body for it, i used to own one here in belgium, thats also the reason i love the chevy body so much ^^
If you take the pen springs out of the capra and use a heavier spring in the rear it will do a lot better.
I have an Enduro right now...I think the TRX4 sport will be my next build. I'd like a VS410, it's just a little out of my price range.
I can't decide what I want for my next rtr... I currently have a Discovery TRX4 with about every upgrade you can buy for it and I use it strictly as a trail truck. I want something that's good on rocks now. Do I want a Capra or a Bomber? And it looks like the Bomber 2.0 just came out!
Our best recommendation is at TRX-6 with a brushless motor. Hobbywing Axe 550 is best.
Of those two, the Capra is much better vehicle. The Bomber is good for rock racing but it's so dated. And the 2.0 didn't change much.

great rigs, all of them are super capable. each one needs its own fine tuning. my next will be another trx4 sport, i already have 2 elements, i just cant swing the vanquish rig, and im not huge on a tube chassis style rig, but will be building something using capra axles in the future.

I like and have the TRX4 Spirt. As others have mentioned I’m not a fan of Traxxas as a company especially about their marketing and legal bullying, but they’ve built a great package. I couldn’t justify the Vanquish price (unless it was USA manufactured which it’s not). I just took the expedition rack of my TRX4 Sport that I built from the assembly kit. I’m looking forward to not flipping over. I’m also looking at changing tires and foams. I’m looking at either the Proline Predator Hyrax or the BFG Krawlers. Have you put the BFG Krawlers up against the Hyrax yet? They seem to be getting some good press. The Landmines look good too but they are still on backorder everywhere
Agreed. The BFG Krawlers look better but they can't quite crawl up the steeps like the Hyrax or Landmines.

That's a 10-year old vehicle and not really a crawler. I had one a long time ago! Good one for sure.

I would love to see how the SCX10 III compares to these... as well as the Element with some work, like shock adjustments or thicker oil, and the Vanquish ULTRA is my new dream truck...
