Combos done on the fly are honestly way more entertaining than labbed combos
it's honestly because execution testa in ultimate aren't that serious so seeing call-outs intertwined with real confirms is hypest
Thats why i love melee so much. This isnt an “ult bad melee good” comment cause i love both a lot, but you can lab setups into combo starters and maybe a few things here and there but the di and sdi systems are so strong here that everything requires on the fly thinking to capitalize l

I mean that’s not why you lab, u just lab combos for optimal damage and having to do less total neutral interactions

Jump makes spikes more effective though, since it massively increases your fall speed
The issue with the Falcon debate is that, the longer we ponder, the less hype he gets. Still pretty cool, that's undeniable, but he definitely needs some new sauce.
Falcon was hype when the cool things he does were fresh. But after 20 years of doing the same cool thing it stops being as cool.
Ultimate falcon: meh
Melee falcon: cool

Most of his combo’s are just ladder combos or moves that combo into themselves again that finish in some type of special move. Its not that different from watching a rob combo honestly, and people think rob isn’t hype.
I would say a custom combo is a very situational combo which you probably won't see again.

But given how rare it is to ever see this situation, and how optimal and inventive the punish was, I would say that has become a custom combo.
(I know it's not a great explanation but hopefully that explains what I said a bit better at least)

The stuff people are pulling off now compared to the first year of this game shows DRASTIC improvement. So much more watchable a game than Brawl/Smash 4

Falcon players can be cool but Ultimate Falcon himself is not cool. There's a reason why Falcon players hate playing Falcon with casuals cause everyone always wants the ditto but the ditto sucks because unless you're one of the cool Falcon players Falcon isn't cool
Falcon dittos are still a classic in this game, it's still breakneck and volatile. and you get to show off, it feels like a real payoff of learning new things

Falcon was hype when he could actually move and run. Ultimate killed him and he doesn't feel good to control at all. At a casual level Brawl Falcon felt better to move with than Ultimate Falcon ever will

As a character, yea, Falcon is cool. As an actual playable fighter, Falcon is so fucking lame, and he doesn't even get close to being hype. For all the shit people usually give Falcos for just doing up tilt combos, Mario and Falcon do the same thing and everyone just pretends it's totally different
