I live in Long Island near Jones beach and very near a lake, How many feet below do I need to go in order to get water?
Below my house is a crawl space and The soil is mostly moist, (which I need to fix by the way) but does that mean that water is a few feet below my feet? How deep do I have to go?
Can this water be drinkable if I filter it?

Same here out in East Texas, people are starting to get a hint of orange silt in the water at wells dug to 300ft (red dirt out here), so I had them dig my well to 700ft 😅 I don't want to put up with that crap

Suppose you could have a well. Or something that collects rain water then it's easier to just have a hand pump to get the water. If it rains where you live that is. That's why you need to think about where you're buying land and how you're going to get water before buying it.

It’s just a common hand pump they have made ones like this for many years and still make new ones. It can be dug to a max depth of 25 feet
