- Hey everyone welcome back to another video! Today I am very excited were taking a look at one of the most unique motorhomes you can buy for 2020.
This is the 2020 Thor Axis 27.7! This is a a cross over RV. Now here is what I mean when I say Cross Over RV. This is a Class C Motorhome... As its built on the E450 chassis. But the designed it to look and drive like a class A. So it gives you the best of both worlds and I love it!
Also its the same as a Thor Vegas 27.7

If that bed didn’t fold, I would have already been buying this. Seriously.
I personally think 27’ is the sweetest spot for any RV. Allows you the most options for places to go while giving you optimal living space! Like this floor plan too.
These Axis/Vegas models are the best I have seen. As a seasoned custom cabinet designer, they make great use of space and look awesome 👍
Love how it’s a class C but built like a class A. I WANT IT!!! As a single lady, I think even I could manage this design.
Matt: please apologize to Andrea for saying she “disappoints you sometime” just because she has her own opinion. That’s not right and you need to apologize. You know you’re more than a lucky man to have her.
Love the European cabinet doors, counter space, bunk, couch & dinette.
From the video it looks like the mirror leading to that cabinet is flimsy and should be secured to a door or wooden backing to provide strength.
I love everything about this RV! Great ingenuity!
Sink should be where cooktop is, could fit 3 burner towards right side of other counter so cover flips to wall; said it before, head end of bed slides up - still leaves someone can sleep across foot of bed with slide in; only one A/C, 2 13, or 10k even, better for zone control. Andrea is right on shower curtain; any decent flow out of shower head will cut effective space in half due to the air pressure difference, plus the leakage under from splashing. Couch could have the flip down arm rest/cupholders as option. Given the widths of bunk, couch, and dinette only 5'8" sleeping capacity is 5 adults, not 6.
Like that the awning is practically entire width of coach, cab has the laptop tray and the extra elbow room, overall color scheme inside.
I would like the fridge to be able to open either way. Also, don't like how the tv blocks part of the window. Instead of sofa, would like a two seat recliner couch. LOVE the big windshield window. Matt, really enjoy your show.
Matt's reviews are so helpful. Love his enthusiasm, really like the 3 likes and 3 dislikes, they often match mine. So far I have discovered a few models that might suit our needs. One complaint is that often as the review continues the darkness in areas make it difficult to see what is being shown. Maybe a portable light in the RV would help.
Living in Canada makes finding the right unit a challenge so thanks for all that you do.
I agree with Andrea, I don’t like the shower curtain. But I also agree with Matt, I love the roominess of the shower! Love the light colored cabinets and flooring. Very nicely decorated!
Andrea, My wife Missy agrees with you. Shower curtains allow for water to go all over the floor, no curtains. Great review overall. Love the puppy !!

I have been watching for months (before you guys exploded in popularity) and haven't been able to make up my mind between a Class C and Class A. Wow! I think I have finally found "the one"...Incredible.
3 things I dislike:
1. The TV screen could be a couple inches shorter so it doesn't overlap view from side windows
2. Not crazy about size of those tires
3. Not sure if Matt mentioned if couch/sofa had a recliner but I would need one.
3 things I love:
1. I love the modern cabinetry and colors throughout. The quality and design are on point
2. I like the shower curtain instead of rigid door, it actually makes it feel even roomier
3. I love that is was designed and built like a crossover...the best of both worlds!

Shower curtains are much easier to clean or replace than a shower door. This is an Axis not an Access. Love the living space & storage. Don’t like the turn of the stovetop...easy to burn your arm reaching over the closer pot. Prefer the microwave up & storage down. Like the sink & flip up counter space. 3 Love the access without opening the slide.
1 Hate no storage for sticky slinky.
2 Hate not prepped for solar

Gotta be Honest. The reviewer is so charismatic that I can't find anything I don't Like about this Motorhome. I wish I could afford to buy one of every model I have seen reviewed here. Though I wish He would always Wear a Red Shirt because that would Match My Decals.

This might be my favorite of all!! What's not to like? Just that shower curtain!! They attack my legs. 🤔 Love the cockpit, sofa/tv placement, glossy cabinets, king bed and the PRICE!! Perfect for 2.
I definitely agree with you Andrea. I hate it when a wet shower curtain touches you and clings to you when you're wet.

We think your videos are award-worthy!
Our likes:
* The sofa looked comfortable.
* The cockpit area looks very user-friendly.
* We love that it's on a Ford chassis.
Our dislikes:
* We don't like that the bed has to fold up when the slide comes in or the lack of walk space on the sides of the bed.
* We don't like the way the kitchen "unfolds" as the slide goes out.
* We don't like the size of the kitchen sink. We prefer a double, not a round single.

Dislikes I agree with Andrea on that shower curtain. And I agree with Matt on the kitchen (put a microwave on top and have a regular range stove, just build a little splash guard on the edge of the counter). Can't really find a third dislike.
Love the price, the swivel seats and pedestal table, and I really love the National Park access capability. Wish the past few months had not set us back on our full time RV plans. Me and the wife look forward to finding a unit like this when we are ready to hop out on the road and leave it all behind. Thanks for the video!

I fell deeply in love with the Vegas/Axis when the first came out in 2014. Then I started doing my research on Thor. I’d be terrified to buy one but I still love them. If only a better manufacturer built something similar I’d probably buy one.

Usually you put a small horizontal dash across the stem of the number 1 to depict it as a 7. I'm ok with the curtain and love the floor plan but love love love the puppy ... sooooo cute.

I agree with Andrea about the shower - having a curtain as opposed to an affixed vinyl door is just an invitation for a flooded bathroom floor every time the shower is used. (And yes, I know this video is 3 years old but I had to mention this.)

1) I like the cabinets and the backlighting in them.
2) I like the windows on either side of the living room TV.
3) I like the large shower, I am a large man so the shower and the toilet are important.
4) I like that it has a tankless water heater.
I think one thing that would add an extra element to your videos is to spin the captain and co captain chairs around so we could see how they are positioned when facing the rear. Would give an idea of spacing, leg room, etc. Please consider doing this in future videos. Love the vids! Thanks!

Thank you, Matt and Andrea! This is actually pretty nice for the size and price point, a lot of little touches that make it unique. I like the drop down bed and bathroom.. the shower curtain gives you the option to add one of those curtain rods that bend in and/or out, I love those. Love the counter extension as well, wish more units had those. Don't like the folding bed or stove cover.. I get why opens to the side but that limits the already confined space. Overall a nice looking Class A!
To each is own... I absolutely love that there's a nice big cushioned area under that flip up bed for hang out space for sandy kids and damp dogs and I get a nice clean bed at night. I hate any RV kitchen that is blocked when the slide is in. I'm a 25.6 fan all the way.

Hate a shower curtain. Totally right. When you have children, they will make a mess of that floor with that shower curtain. It's a huge deal to me too, Andrea.

Love the European cabinets, Prepped for Solar, Swivel front seats with table, Huge shower, and the # 1 thing I love is the Toilet position for big guys like us. The only thing i dislike is the super tiny microwave, Wish they would have put in a oven, Way to go Thor !!
I agree with Andrea regarding the shower, I do not like the low basin tub with the curtain. They should of put in a retractable type door. 6

Hi Matt & Andrea! Thanks for another video review. Dislikes: in the gallery, when the slides are in the drawers are blocked (it is what it is) ; all the plumbing connections are exposed; fold up Queen bed. Likes: cargo carrying capacity; wheel base to length ratio (56.7%); small overall length.

Likes: Slides on Drivers side, tv across from sofa, usb ports in bedroom. Dislikes: Kitchen(would prefer standard range/oven and microwave, less drawers and bigger sing), bed above drivers area (should be an option), dinette (would prefer table and chairs...maybe it's an option). Love the cabinetry and bathroom. Don’t like the kitchen set up with microwave down and wonder if sink and stove could be reversed. Still, overall I like it! Great for single or couple.
What a good idea
Thor if you read these reviews make the 24.1 with no slides replace the sofa with two swivel chairs and a flip up table or pedestal for 2 people. These would sell like hot cakes look at all the van models that sell without slides. Also soundproof the engine compartment it was brutally loud when I drove one.
Wow, I really wish I was in the market today, that price is amazing. It's just the right size for me as a solo traveler. Well in about a year I WILL be in the market, and I know where to go first.

I do love the Thor Axis (and the Vegas) as they are shorter length for fitting into most park campgrounds but offer lots of amenities like the king size bed👍🏻 I love the European cabinets/living space configuration. Not sure about that split kitchen, but I like the counter extension. The shower holy cow it’s BIG! I would rather have a shower door like Andrea but could live with the curtain. I also would prefer a King size bed vs queen. I think the hybrid class a class c thing is 😎. Love your videos!!! Una is soooo smart and cute

Wow. I've driven past this exact rig for a year at our local dealer but had never seen inside. I love it!
Likes: length is short enough for national parks, modern color scheme and cabinet handles, good weight capacity in drop-down bunk.
Dislikes (minor): would love this with a u-shaped dinette, awkward kitchen layout with no dedicated pantry, have to fold up the bed to travel.

When Mat climbed onto the roof I was like NOOOOOOOOO worried about lightning. As always you guys continue to build supremacy in motorhome reviews and sales. Congrats on breaking 41k subscribers! This is the first small one that I actually like! This is actually a great starter coach because you get to test out a class A type at a great price. The only thing I would add is a plexiglass divider between the cooktop and the back of the dinette seat. I LOVE UNA !!!

3 negatives -The bed can't be down while traveling. There is no real oven. The master mattress looks flimsy and uncomfortable. Love the front end though!! Love the look. The bathroom is nice and i love the cabinetry

It is a nice Motor Home What i don't like is, and that is with any motor home I need a gas range with an oven to bake . Because I like to bake chicken, Potatoes, Sweet potatoes, cookies and cakes and they don't cook right in a convection oven. I like that you two do this together. Kind of show harmony between couples with is important especially when you disagree because that is the way most couples are.

The shower curtain would end up being a daily irritation. I imagine Thor understands the need to design daily irritations out of existence, right, limo2ride?
I like the new Thor Class A/Class C Motorhome the two things I do not like is the shower curtain, the curtain closure for the bedroom and that the bed folds up. I guess that is really 3 dislikes. Other than those things I would buy one. Love the sofa and the dinette. Love your videos and I love to see Andrea. Stay safe and healthy! Mona

Sorry Andrea, I like the shower curtain. It gives me something easy to personalize. Also, it can sometimes be hard to keep a shower door clean when you're camping and if your shower curtain gets too messy you just replace it. I love the front windshield and the cockpit in general. Dislikes-you can't use the bed with the slide in (I understand, but I don't like it), stove seems really awkward - I'm right handed and I'd smash into the cover regularly, and finally I know that frameless windows are popular but I just don't like them. I like to be able to open my windows wide and let in the fresh air. One last point, it seems like on so many motorhomes now the door doesn't open all the way flat against the side wall. I like to leave the door open and not being able to open it all the way seems like a hazard. The Axis/Vegas line is on my shortlist for when I'm ready to go back on the road in a few years.

I agree with Andrea, no shower curtain. I like he lighter cabinets on top, and let’s get rid of the darker cabinetry once and for all.

Like the cabinets-Airstream look. Like the counter extension, like upholstered headboard on bed.
Don’t like dark colors on cabinets! Stay light colors! Don’t like shower curtain-it will mildew. Hate dark color of kitchen backsplash. LIGHT colors people 😊 the dark and light chops up the small spaces and make them seem smaller

Matt has incredible energy. I like his honesty. I’ve purchases 6 RV’s. My next one will be from him. Maybe this one. The only thing i don’t like is there’s no place for hang-up clothes. We would use the whole closet next to the fridge as a pantry.

I have to agree with Andrea, I am not a fan of the shower curtain, water is probably the #1 enemy of an RV and the curtain can get outside of the shower and water will run onto the floor, over time leading to damage underneath.
Looks great - one of the few times when I've been impressed by larger Rvs - I can really see how this works for people. Wish you'd show the price earlier as it makes a load of difference.
Likes: 1. TV placement, 2. Lights in cabinets. 3. Class A look in front. Dislikes: 1. Small round kitchen sink, 2. small tires (my CR-V has bigger tires). 3. No real CPAP prep.
Agree with Andrea about the shower curtain. I would change it to one of those shower “pull out & roll up” curtains that is hypo-allergenic and wipes off the excess water as it rolls up.

On the kitchen..for some of us that are aging...bending over to lift something that is hot out of the oven becomes more of a challenge than when we were younger. I'd like to see the microwave/convection oven where the cabinet is and drawers where the microwave is. I hope this wasn't rude. I also like the shower curtain as they are easier to clean and replace as you desire better than doors. I like the powered bed area that it is rated for 500lbs as that helps with guests that are adults. :-)

It looks like it would be awkward to boondock in a box store parking lot when you can't put the slides out.
You'd have to sleep on the cab over bunk and the couch or dinette.

Things I’d like to see in your reviews:
1: test the bathroom sink. Pretend you are brushing your teeth and bend over the tiny sink to spit. I always hit my head when the cabinet is over the sink (Four Winds 28z). I like the Winnebagos with just a flat mirror over the sink and the cabinet over the commode. I can actually use the little sink.
2. If cab seats swivel, please show them swiveled so we can get a feel for the living setup.
3: “... pedestal table goes here...”. Let’s see it set up!
I liked the motor home but sorry Matt I hate shower curtains, a pain to clean, they smell and a perfect breeding grounds for unwanted germs and mildew. Just saying but I'd buy this one and instantly a shower door lol

#1-The bed is a deal breaker. Not only because it folds, but the difficulty in making it. Not a fan of having to wrestle a mattress to get a sheet on. #2-No to the shower curtain!!!!!! No No No! #3-microwave sucks on the bottom. (There were more, but I’ll stick to just 3) Likes. #1-passenger seat, leg room and esp the fold out desk. #2-three seat couch. #3-price. You guys are awesome!!!! Thank you! PS- two commercials are hardly a lot.

Totally Agree with Andrea-- Shower curtains are not good. Blowing in and sticking to your body when you're showering! Some kind of door is the best. There has to be a way to change-out that curtain for a door? Just like changing out the plastic toilet to ceramic..
No oven...move micro up to the top storage and put an oven there instead...problem solved...you're welcome.

Totally would redo that odd kitchen area and make it a C shape. Love the colors though nice and bright but not barbie doll bright thank god and that cockpit is all that and more love it
