I picked up a "maybe" last year. Out of 4 of my Floyd guitars, I was only able to install it on one. The other three did not have a flat surface underneath the springs. I've probably have to craft some kind of spacer to put on any of the others.
At 9:14 do you find when the ball bearings hit the tremolo block it clicks from it being metal on metal? I'm really all over the place as what to get for my Charvel. I'm bothered if I pick the wrong one but I've drilled screw holes into my guitar. Also there's another Tremol-No that has it's own claw and like an arm that attaches to the block. This has 3 settings, blocked, dive only and floating.
They come with little pads you can stick on if you don't want the click. But the only time I hear any click is when I let go of the bar when it is down and it slaps back against the stop. And the only time I hear even a little "click" is when everything is quiet and I have no strings ringing. Even if I just have the guitar playing through the computer and the volume is very low, I still don't hear a click, and no click comes through the guitar/amp.
@@buzzzmiller Just set mine up, although it's alright and does stay in tune etc there's a small problem. My Trem block isn't long enough so the ball bearings are only touching half of the block, also the springs are catching on the 3 screws nearest to the block. Not a enough to stop it working but it makes a clunking noise and adds a little resistance
It almost sounds like the block in your Floyd is too short. If you plan on upgrading the block to a beefy version, find what this size is and get one bigger. Those springs need to be far enough away from the body and the pads that hit the block should not hit it at the edge.

Great info. Thanks
Now I have an idea on how to fix my old Kramer Striker!

@@buzzzmiller ok cool. Did all 3 versions come with the pads?
Yes. All three did.

What is the name of that guitar. And who makes it? I love novelty guitars. That one looks like it could have been made by Fisher Price.
