oh man, my dad got me this game on windows millenium. One my first games. Brings back so many memories. Glad i can relive parts of my childhood on youtube now.
It felt so surreal the fist time I visited Chicago because I hadn’t realized just how much the countless hours playing this game as a kid familiarized me with the layout and landmarks of the city. Great memories.
the gradually accumulating snow was one of my favorite features. Havent seen any other game have something like that. Would just park the car somewhere in a snowy day and come back an hour later to see the whole city blanketed :D
So nostalgic......man I remember being so excited in the last period of school 😂 ....as soon as I used to reach home....throw away everything and straight to PC😂🤣😂🥰🥰
Thanks for the throwback. I miss being 10 years old, driving around town with my Thrustmaster NASCAR pro racing wheel and pedals, jamming a blue Lego piece in between the 2 plastic parts that made the steering column and pretending it was a turn signal stalk. Damn I miss those innocent days.
So many memories refreshed. It feels like travelling back in time and watching myself do silly stuffs as a kid. Thank you youtube for bringing us this nostalgia. ❤️❤️
Oh mahnnn!! This was my favorite game when I was in mid school. I just used to play on cruise mode with different cars, break into malls, intentionally fall into the water under the bridge just to see the message "Sleep with the fishes". Car interior mode was love! Panoz Roadster, Mustang GT, VW Beetle used to be my regular cars. This game would literally kill *HOURS*
Back as a kid living in a remote area with no internet this games simulation of a full functioning city gave me the feeling of being somehow connected and not missing out. Especially with the settings turned to night and snowstorm. :)
Dude, I'm so glad you're still playing Midtown Madness. You are the king. I was having a huge nostalgia moment and watching some Crimson Skies, on my way to Microsoft Combat Simulator Footage, and I saw a Midtown Madness ad in a loading screen and remembered that I only ever played demo versions of this, 2, and 3. Then it kind of fell of my radar for.... 20ish years? I love you and just subscribed as well. Peace.
My favorite game I ever played. Played first in 2000. ‘Where’re you wanna go, what ya gonna do’ and ‘night time is the right time’ still ring in my head after 20 years. Shows how much I loved this game. Thanks for sharing.
who remembers the trainyard glitch when you got outside the map and saw the ghost tracks and train just going on about its day, such a good memory jumping out of the map
This was such an awesome experience back in the day. First time using a force feedback wheel and driving around the big city in that big truck on a highway. Felt like a true city simulator
Really miss this game, the load screens, the scenery, narrator, engine sounds, the sound of cops getting wrecked. Use to mess around in cruise mode. Last time I played this 3 years ago, it just felt different. Cruise mode wasn't as fun, it was all about completing the races for me. Maybe I've grown up... I miss that feeling of playing it as a kid
I would use the freightliner Century in a checkpoint race, go on the opposite direction of the opponnents, total them, and then slowly finish the race first......pure nostalgia and fun......
You, sir, are a master of checkpoints. This game is phenomenal. I'm playing the new Forza Horizon, and it's got a lot of similarities (would recommend, it's nice just driving around the countryside and smashing things), but still doesn't quite match the freedom or chaos of Midtown Madness.
Still one of the best driving games ever, used to put my own selection of songs on the radio and just put it on cruise mode and just chilled driving around town and going on the motorways, great game if you're a youngster and want to learn to drive even.
The trick with this game is that you have to keep up with your opponents and they will eventually crash and then you can cruise through the race otherwise it’s impossible to catch up to them if you fall behind
Actually you can always be miles ahead of opponents in almost all races. Only slow vehicles may change this situation. But after checkpoint 4, you should already have Panoz GTR. It does the job if the job is not to go on sidewalks :/
You have no idea how long I searched for the title of this game. Used to play it at my grandparents as a kid on a steering wheel and it was the most fun there was to have
Really great gameplay as compared to my retry counts. One of the most difficult games in my childhood. Weather and sky looked very realistic to this day compared to time it was realised. Nostalgic feeling. Music is cool as well. 🔥
Once my cousin came home and me and my sis showed him the game...he loved it nd soon got the hang of it... Then he tried racing for the first time nd thought of choosing the BUS for it(it was a time when we used to think the bigger the vehicle, the better it is) He was disappointed 😂😂
Awesome...Dude, please also do the races with manual...it would be really good especially with roadster. If you accelerate at 4th gear without upshifting to 5th, I find it goes faster in particular.
nostalgia brought tears to my eyes. i used to try to look civilians faces and they had no faces because of low graphics and used to jump ship to another ship
"You've got a lot of choices to make. Are you going to cut through the construction or are you gonna take a salley through that back alley?" I heard that line too many times from how often I had to restart that race.
