- Hey guys! In this video I go over the history of the Dimorphodon in the Jurassic Park Franhcise! Going all the way back to The Lost World: Jurassic Park video game from 1997 and up through 2015 and beyond, the Dimorphodon is a surprisingly favorite pterosaur of mine that I really think deserves some more recognition. It's appeared in video games, toys and one of the biggest movies in the series! Hope you all enjoy! :D

I love this flying reptile! I just couldn't hold back my laugh when the Dimorphodon roared back into the indominus' face. This chicken sized beast had a intimidation exchange with a T.rex sized mutated lab monster - it was brilliant.
It reminds me of how geese are less intimidated by bigger animals than by similar sized animals.
i saw you again
Archael Diaz same
I found it odd that it didn't show up in "Fallen Kingdom." But regardless, I find Dimorphodon to be a cool addition in that it displays variety in pterosaurs to the general public (as well as within the "Jurassic" franchise).
I thinck that the dimorphodon went extict during the events of JWFK
ApiJuice Android Well, we certainly can't rule that out.
@@Zhao1Zhao oh no!I hope its not extinct because I love a variety of pterasaurus!
It’s possible that they flew away from the island in between the movies.
@@patricio2805 Yeah, that's feasible.
This is like when dr evil says "sharks with fricken lazer beams"
But it's actually
"Pteradactyls with fricken t-rex heads"
That's what I thought the first time I saw it. I didn't even think it was a real fibosaur, I thought it was a hybrid of pterosaur and T-rex.
More like the indominus rex heads
Ur average gay teen indominous Rex head is a trex head -_-
@@adrianabundiz148 Indominus Rex has a different head than a T Rex because it's a hybrid/mix breed.
I really like Dimorthodon and its design in the movie... Imagine one of those entering someone's home though a window! I would love to see it have a comeback in JW3
Imagine 3 dimorphodons entering in a room with a baby inside
venom venom is that a reference to the compys eating a baby in the lost world book
Imo, its a very underrated creature.
Ah yes, the Dimorphodon. Or as I used to call it "The Toucan Pterosaur" because it looked like it had a Toucan head as it appeared in Dinosaur Safari.
More like a puffin
Oh my goodness! So great to see ya here man!!!! :D
@@bigfatcarp93 I agree, I saw them as puffin reptiles
While I often saw people making them look like puffins, I agree that toucan is a more fitting role, seeing as in real life they were forest-dwelling tree climbers who ate bugs and small animals.
@@CJCroen1393 Good information! :D
I think this dinosaur is so underrated, it motivated Clair to fight and save Owen!
Its actually not a dinosaur but I call it one :)
*Pterosaur, not dinosaur
Lol I love how I get something wich I moan to other people is wrong, wrong
Good video of the Dimorphodon.
Hopefully, Dimorphodon would make it’s third appearance in Jurassic World III.
But... How would that even work? Even if it shows up twice in one movie, it's still one appearance, right? That'd be it's second appearance then, wouldn't it mate?
@@siebkelderart7599 the dimorphodon was saved offscreen in Jurassic world fallen kingdom
@@fantasticredeye2252 oh. Can I ask how you know?
Hopefully we get to see more of that dinosaur in the next 🎥
Sadly it ain’t a Dino :(
I thought it was a hybrid when I first saw the movie
Wow....😂
Frankly, I don't blame u. They heads are too therapodian
I was happy to see another pterosaur featured, even if it isn't one of my favourites. I have fingers crossed that it may come back, though I'd like to see even more varieties added; Pterodactylus, Quetzelcoatlus... hell, why not throw in an actual bird and feature Archaeopteryx?
I really loved the design of dimorphodon in the movies, cuz hey, who doesn't like bat like creatures with a T.rex like head
Ark's Dimorphodon looks miles better. (Despite being somewhat more radical imo.) The Jurassic World Dimorphodon look so ugly (to me), and I honestly do not want to hate it.
I feel like it shouldn't be able to fly with a head like that
This flying reptile was so unknown to me but now thanks to Klayton explaining this Dimorphodon Flying reptile thanks klayton
I love this Animal and keep up the good work bro JP Fans
If you can handle all the chaos of the facilities and the dinosaurs, then really
how "tough" could completing this new video be...for a person of your talents?
What I like about Dimorphodon is that it was featured in the original Carnivores game, and it's awesome to see it in Jurassic Park's franchise.
Always been a fan of these little guys
I remember these guys from then lost world game. They were tough little guys.happy they appeared in JW but idk about FK if they went back into extinction
“Ellie raptors were smart. They were smarter than dolphins and whales. They were smarter than primates”
-Dr Allen grant
I remember how many times those things killed me in the Lost World game back in the day, they were really a menace... a bullet dodging menace!
The Lost World on PS1 was so much fun when I was a kid. Would be keen to see you play that one!
I honestly thought it was another hybrid coz it looked funky compared to the other avian species
Well, it's not an Avian Species to begin with.
It's a flying Reptile, like the Pteranodons.
Dimorphodon is my favorite pterosaur!
Another great video. These reptiles are pretty cool looking. Hopefully they'll make an appearance in JW 3.
Ok, so you have done EVERY famous dino in the history of chain of videos but the king... T-REX BABY
Klayton is by far the best Jurassic youtuber
Sub to him if you agree
He just did one on her (Rexy) a couple days ago.
I love how the Dimorphadon is in Jurassic World Alive!!!
I loved these guys. I want it to come back in JW3! Also, I somewhat disagree that the film's Dimorphodon is based on the PS1 Lost World game, but I'm also surprised you didn't mention that the film Dimorphodons have pycnofibres on their backs only. Also, they are briefly seen in Fallen Kingdom, but only on a news cam at the beginning of the film while the newscaster talked about the Jurassic World Incident and they are hard to see in said footage.
Cool addition to Jurassic World.... looks... different to the real life counterpart. Very cool creature either way.
I really don't understand why Dimorphodon wasn't in Fallen Kingdom but it's most likely that it was just forgotten about by J.A Bayona
I would really love to see the dimorphodon return!
Gotta love dimorphodon! Hope he gets some screen time in the next movie
Yea! It wasnt even in jwfk !:/hope it didn't go extinct!!!
@@uraveragegayteen6065 the dimorphodon was saved offscreen in Jurassic world fallen kingdom
I really like how the dimorphodon is different it's almost like a little gargoyle but it also gives a little bit of variety with the flying reptiles within the Jurassic Park and world franchise.
I really loved playing TLW playstation game back in the day! =)
Love them, it was really cool to get a flying reptile of a different species/size... I remember reading someone's comment on a forum that said they looked like a Pterosaur with the head of the Indominus. SMH
Yay Dimorphdon. Nice Vid Klayton. 👍👍👍❤❤❤
Indominus: Breaks in the Aviary,
ROARS,
Dimorphodon: ROARS, back,
You ROAR, get the ROAR, outta, ROAR here,
When I first watched JW I thought it was a secret hybrid between a pterosaur and T-Rex because of its head XD
I didn’t realize it was a real dinosaur. I thought it was some kind of Pteranodon/T-Rex hybred. Thank for the video.
Great and awesome intro Klayton Fioriti.
Hey Klayton, I've always wondered what your favorite and least favorite animal designs are, post JP3. I think they've been pretty hit or miss, but I'd love to hear your thoughts on it....
It'd be interesting to see a video on the other pterosaur in the franchise, Cearadactylus, even if it would be shorter than even this video, since the pterosaurs only show up in the first book.
Speaking of Lego Jurassic World, do you think you might do a lets play of it some day in the future?
Is there a theme between the intros? Like each video type gets a different intro? Or is it random
We need more obscure Dino's in the Jurassic Park series
they made it more terrifying more than it should be, like putting a T-Rex's head on a medium pterodactyl body
Well, Dimorphodon's head is actually pretty big, compared to the rest of its body! :)
@@Venator94 I know it is, I was hoping they'd designed it to be more close to accurate
@@chichiboypumpi I think their saying it was pretty accurate
Great video about the history of the Dimorphodon in the Jurassic Park franchise. Keep up the great work Klayton Fioriti.
I didn't really like how they portrayed them as man hungry monsters, rather then the Puffin like creatures that everything we know about them suggests they were.
...Jurassic Park captured my interest with it's vividly realistic imagining of dinosaurs... I feel as though this has been steadily sliding away from any attempt at realism, toward movie monsters like Godzilla and Rodan... and while still fun to watch, there is a part of me that is really let down by it, and there is no way for them to correct this anymore, even if they had the desire to.
I wish it would come back in JW3. It was such a cool unique creature. And memorable from Jurassic World which baffles me at it not appearing in Fallen Kingdom.
I read dimetrodon. But really interesting information on dimorphodon
Spidey Matt 18 I wish, they do have toys about them even back from the first JP
I freaking loved the needle teeth on them
First time i watched the movie i didnt know what they were, cuz they don't look anything close to actual dimorphodons xD
I wonder why these little guys didn't show up in fallen kingdom. Hopefully they make an appearance in the next film, these strange flyers are gladly welcome to JP!
The dimorph is my favorite flyer. I like the mini figure way more then the full sized one as it's closer to the correct size to the human and other dino figures.
weird it's not seen in Fallen Kingdom
The only time we see it in Fallen Kingdom is in a video feed during the events of the first Jurassic World movie.
I don’t think it’s even in that video footage. I slowed it down, but only saw Pteranodons.
@@Mowingthefrontlawn Its a Dimorphodon that attacks Owen in Jurassic World
@@ttt2080 Yes, but that scene's not in Fallen Kingdom.
@@Mowingthefrontlawn sorry I thought you meant the footage in this video.
I like to see the Deinonychus and the Jurassic Park history
Who thinks that intro suits the more, creepy cloned animals in the series, also Dimorphodon, also is a relative of Peteinosaurus, who made it's appearance in Walking with Dinosaurs, and that show is, nearly 20 years old.
honestly they do look like a sort of pterosaur with trex heads or least something similar like the indominous
A couple years after this video came it out it also made a appearance in Jurassic world evolution 2
The Dimorphodon, the one pterosaur that made people want to rip their hair out of their heads out of frustration from playing The Lost World game. I still have bad flash backs from it.
Good video.
The winged skull
The Dimorphodon was the coolest creatures added to the Jurassic park francise.
I luv the Dimorphodon
Love how InGens clone of this animal has more of a dragon look to it.
I love dimorphodon
I always laugh at the idea of a Dimorphodon being any threat at all to any person over 10 years old.
wtf have you seen the jaws on these things???
one bite of them in the wrong spot and you would bleed to death within minutes!
@@AllosaurusJP3 They may look fearsome but they likely weigh less than a house cat, and their teeth are needle like, which would sting if it bit you, but won't do any real damage. Pterosaurs are incredibly frail, you could probably kill all of them with the exception of the absolute largest 😊.
While you're correct that Pterosaurs are very lightweight and frail, they'd also be quite swift, and able to take you by surprise with an aireal dive. Don't discount them too fast.
@@bigfatcarp93 sure, some could maybe even get you on the ground, but that's about it.
They are my favorite must tame early when playing ARK. I'm surprised they are not as aggressive or swarm as their JP portrayal.
Am I the only one curious wondering why it didn’t show up in Fallen Kingdom?!
I know I’m incredibly late for commenting anything But I have a gut feeling that dimorphadon fell back into extinction
I’d also like to mention that in Jurassic world: the game dimorphodon gets a hybrid with the metriacanthosaurus which is called metriadon and is one of the best creatures in the game and the best pterosaur creature in game.
* metriaphodon, I checked to make sure
I liked the Dimorphodon that was in the Jurassic World Kinder eggs.
It did show in jwfk, it was the one that flew past blue in the end
What scene exactly, I looked for it but I couldn't find it
I really like that the Dimorphodon would keep its likeness in Jurassic World
I really like JP1 but JW1 better like the dimemorphedon dinosaur. Would like to see quetzalcoalus and perhaps a therinosaur holy cow. Can't wait for jw3.
Went extinct by the time fallen kingdom came out
What about herrasuarus
Seriously makes you wonder what ever happened in Fallen Kingdom did they leave the island before it exploded or what hope to see them in JW3 and funny story my sister thought they were hybrids because of their big heads and thought it was a trex pterosaur hybrid so I explained to her that it is an early member of the pterosaur family and had looked like trex heads because they feed on insects overall liked this little guy in JW and hope to see it again in film.
The jw/jwfk series looks like the flying Gremlin from the second movie
Seriously, why werent those guys in Fallen Kingdom, they kinda just disappeared, with no confirmation for what happneened to them, imagine a group of them hiding in the main hall of Lockwood Manor, like seriously, feel they wouldve been something really cool to see on mainland
Well according to the DPG website, they weren't extinct before Mt. Sibo erupted. Considering they have wings, they could've flown off the island when it erupted. Also Ken and his mercs were on Nublar before the DPG was even a thing, and even Colin Trevorrow stated on Twitter that several dinosaurs were rescued and on the Arcadia offscreen. So who knows, we might see it again. 😉😉
Playing as a hunter in the lost world game, I hated these little bastards with a passion. They took a crapload of health, flew in difficult to hit arcs, and came at you whenever you were hanging off the spider-man cable. Forget the big predators, they were the real reason why I was hoarding the explosive ammo.
Dimorphodon got nerfed hard in jurassic world alive. It is probably the weakest dinosaur in the game now in terms of attack power but it has special abilities to bring dinos down through bleeding them out. Which is a popular strategy to take out boss strikes.
The Dimorphodon did appear in Fallen Kingdom during the news feed right after the opening. During the cam shot of the pterasour attack 3 years prior Dimorphodon was seen very briefly flying with the pteranodons what do you think?
I think that scene also features a Spinosaurus... Skeleton but still
Have you ever heard of an app game called Jurassic world alive? it's kind of similar to Pokemon go but it's entirely connected to the Jurassic Park franchise and there are a ton of interesting dinosaurs and creatures.
Can u do Adaptosaurus next
A new trailer for the Jurassic world live show has been released
I was honestly shocked that the Dimorphodon did not appear in Fallen Kingdom. But it is really cool reptile. (not dinosaur)
Man that dino was so annoying to come across in the PS1 game of The Lost World! It was sometimes hard to kill cause of how fast it was.
Dimorphodon is a COOL ONE! [Better than Pteranodon]
Yknow. Now that I look at it, its jaw definitely reminds me of the I-Rex
Im not sure if anyone noticed, but I think I see feathers on it.
dimorphodon was also in Jurassic Park part 2 the chaos continues on the Super Nintendo
can you talk about adult Dilo?
I like dimorphodon.
I wonder why it wasn't in the second movie? They made so many toys for it.
The dimorphdon is my favorite reptile out of the series *change my mind*
There's a Stiggymoloch! Wait... Why should I change your mind actually?
I really disliked the look of the Dimorths in JW. Specifically just the heads...little t-rex heads. They could’ve looked a lot better.
I agree.
More like lil indominous rex head😂
It would make a cool 'post-apocalyptic' scene if we got a bunch of these guys attacking humans en masse in JW3, not unlike the first JW but maybe in a valley.
KLAYTON! You forgot about Dimorphodon in JP//: The Chaos Continues!
I have a love hate för this flying reptile! Mainly because it is so annoying in the lost world game and has a bad habit of arriving at the wrong times but by God is it cool! :D
They were also incredibly strong apparently. Like seriously Ingen. What were you feeding them? Was there a gym in their enclosures?? Nightmarish little bats
Have any dinosaurs you’d wanna see added to Jurassic World: Evolution?
