Really love the Acrocanthosaurus. Its unique as an animal and very well understood. Although I don’t thing the Jurassic series needs it. I’ve actually recently bought the Rebor Acrocanthosaurus model to complete my diorama. Its really cool and I highly recommend it.
Acrocanthosaurus was my favorite therapod from Operation Genesis. First dinosaur I chose to release while playing with my cousin years ago. I've been looking forward to its revival in JW Evolution.
1. Plateosaurus 2. Coelophysis 3... Actually, what would be the third? You could switch out Plateosaurus with Mussaurus, since it was mentioned in one of the books, but yeah... That's all I can think of.
@@totallynotacop9728 best I can guess is Staurikosaurus, which is ever so slightly bigger than the Eoraptor at 2 meters. They could add an archosaur instead, like Desmatosuchus or Postosuchus, but that seems odd for a "first non-dinosaur animal."
Park Builder for the GBA actually has really cool pixel art for each of the dinosaurs. They can be collected like trading cards each time you create a new dinosaurs if I recall. But yes, in the actual game, they only have a few standard sprite types.
Fun fact about the acro, The skeleton found in the North Carolina Museum was a cast specimen purchased from the Black Hills Institute Of Geological Research. This specimen is cool as shit because it actually has a crocodile tooth still wedged into the maxilla. A croc tooth literally in its face. We can all guess how that happened.
Love the Acrocanthosaurus. I first heard of him from Robert Bakkers book Raptor Red. Awesome predator. The genesis model looks nice with the spines covered with skin.
If I had to pick a favourite look for the Jurassic franchise Acrocanthosaurus I'd have to go with the JPOG version because it looks more like a Carcharodontosaurid the Evolution version makes it look way to bulky and robust it looks to much like a Tyrannosaurus imo
I don't think it's too bulky, but the fact they downplayed the sail and the horrible head are what put me off. The bulk we can actually put to being reasonably fed unlike most reconstructions.
@@theferretman2157 It's now believed the sail was more of a hump, making the Evolution variation the more accurate out of the ones we've seen. The only issue really is the strange skull shape, but we could easily hand wave it as one of the strange mutations the InGen clones tend to have
@@jordanf9257 Yes we can. If we can do that for the JWE Deinonychus or the JP Dilophosaurus, we can do it for the slightly inaccurate Acrocanthosaurus head.
The Acrocanthosaurus is one of my favourite Carnivores by far next to the Metriacanthosaurus, and my favourite appearances that the Acro made in my opinion were Jurassic Park Operation Genesis and Jurassic World Evolution, I also liked it in Jurassic World The Game because I have it in my park. By the way Klayton, your video about Jurassic Park Institute should be called "What was Jurassic Park Institute?"
That's where I heard of it first as a kid. I was super stoked to see it when I got JPOG with my PS2 for Christmas. I thought the Acro was really the star of Raptor Red, never having been much of a raptor fan. Acro is no T-Rex, but in JPOG it was your first big carnivore and once you had an Acro, no one walked out of the park unsatisfied with the dinosaurs!
I like the Acrocanthosaurus in Jurassic World Evolution because I really noticed how awesome and tuff this dinosaur is. I really hope that Acrocanthosaurus would be in Jurassic World III nor in the Jurassic series in the future.
@chris pontarolo Well, the first games that came out were like that, but it is true that they keep making very similar games. I think they should make a game that is both types of game. Have a game where you have to go out and capture dinosaurs for your park or have it start out with your park but something goes wrong and you have to escape.
@chris pontarolo That could make a great asymmetrical vs. game. There could even be a mode where you play as civilians during an escape and your goal is to get away.
@chris pontarolo the closest jp game to that that I know of is Trespasser, and honestly I would love to see that remade and reworked to be less buggy and more accessible to everyone
*The Acrocanthosaurus in Jurassic world evolution has to be my favorite and most scientifically accurate version of the Acrocanthosaurus it's muscular build shows that it was made to hunt sauropods. I even hope that one day it will have an appearance in a Jurassic world or Jurassic Park film in the future.*
1 hour ago I was watching your video about the indoraptor and I thought What if he made a video about the Acrocanthosaurus? “Probably next day” And to my surprise Thanks a lot
I guess it's been hard to make a good survival game for the Jurassic Park series and do it justice, so park builder games is their best way to go. I was thinking of getting the Evolution game, but I hated the design for the Deinonychus(a favorite of mine) so I didn't. As for Acrocanthosaurus, it's unique skeleton does make it an interesting enough dino that I'd like to see it make a movie appearance. A couple of it's designs in the games you showed makes it look like an overgrown monitor lizard though.
Warpath intro'd me to the Acro; loved playing as it because it was versatile and matched the other big carnivores (as much as I can remember)...Playing as it made it a firm fave of mine. ^^
Still have fond memories of the Acro being pretty much the only large carnivore I managed to put on display in Operation Genesis. Knowing that it's returning for a new appearance does give me an old feeling of nostalgia, and seeing it on the big screen so more dinos become more widely known is always good to me
I’m happy Acrocanthosaurus was able to be in JWE, I agree with your opinion this design should be in the movie. Also, in your future video I would love to see the History of the Carcharodontosaurus.
Enjoying watching klayton's videos, best JP content in youtube. Acro its an amazing dinosaur, I'd love to see it in the movie cannon and my favorite design its the ona of operation genesis
I like the Acrocanthosaur. I has a cool design that's a neat variation to the "standard" carnosaur, what with his enlarged back spines. It's a pretty underrated dinosaur. I loved when it was featured in the novel Raptor Red.
i have a poster of the acroncanthsaurus, i got from the Raleigh science museum, which my favorite museum in NC. seeing acroncathsaurus is my favorite part of the museum every time i go there.
Amazing that the Acrocanthosaurus is another unique dinosaur and Im glad its in Evolution but suprised it aint in any movies. Hope they add him cuz that means more dinosaur fights
I love the Acro and I hope they put it on the big screen one day. How it should look no brainer here. Definitely the look from Jurassic world evolution
I love it in Jurassic park operation genesis and Jurassic world evolution it actually is my favorite dinosaur. I hope one day it would at least make a cameo in the movie or have a scene in a movie
Evolution Acro to be honest although the arms are a bit short and the eyes and possible the head are a bit Rex like. But I also like the colours it has in JWTG.
When I was a kid and didn't know any better about the Dinosaurs and whatnot I would've said the Operation Genesis Acro was better. However, Frontier managed to keep the Jurassic-Parkisms to a minimum with this design and overall I love that they adopted the realistic design of having the spine not being exposed, cause it wasn't in reality. The exposed spine definitely makes it look eviler and more threatening but I think it's time to move past designing Dinosaurs in that way, good job Frontier!
I love the JWE design, especially how it looks like a labrador retriever with great skins. Would love to see that in a movie! Also I'm wondering why you have two discord servers? Like what's the difference? c:
Probably gotta go with the JPOG Acro for favorite appearance (haven't had a chance to have one in Evolution...yet). Personally, I'm not sure that I'd want to see one of these in a JP movie because if I ever get around to finishing my novel idea, the Acro actually fills the big theropod slot. lol
He also appeared in Jurassic Park Explorer as well, though that game uses the same list as Operation Genesis. Fun fact: this was how I got introduced to this species.
I loved this dinosaur in JP:OP and i was Happy it made it in Evolution along with the Herrerasaurus and Proceratosaurus. Imagine what this Heavy weight Dinosaur would do in a JP Movie.
Is it just me or just the arco design just like the carnosaur design in evolution? Also, I’m a fan I still watching your voice shoutout to klayton! Big support 🦇‼️
Could we get a video from you on the Dinosaur Island Board Game from Pandasaurus Games? I know Board Games aren't your usual MO but it is something related to Dinosaurs and heavily references the JP franchise. Also Raptor Nuggets is a thing you get in the board game. So I want to know your thoughts on the subject matter.
I love the look of operation genesis and evolution. If it were to have a film appearance I would go for evolution's design, or maybe a cross between the two games.
While no animal has a villainous intent (due to the victim of anthropomorphism), I find Acrocanthosaurus to be a very useful candidate for an antagonist dinosaur other than T. rex, Spino or Giga.
If the Acrocanthosaurus ever appears in a film, I'd enjoy a mix of its Evolution design with a similar palette and pattern to the Operation Genesis counterpart... The Jurassic Park franchise does a lot to differentiate the various dinosaurs, and making their colours pop has always been a necessity!
It should look like it did in warpath :3 All designs for it in that game is just so badass :D It should make some kind of appearance in the last JW film but if not, that's fine :)
I always liked Acro, it's a very interesting dinosaur, glad that they put him into Evolution
And they gave it both tame natural looking skins as well as bright and vivid skins, witch should be the way all dinosaur skins should be.
I have loved the acro since i was a kid
I rlly want torvosaurus,Mapusaurus and tyranotitan
tbh i wish tarbosaurus was aswell
It’s like a hybrid between the Spino and the Rex
This guest favorite dinosaur, the Acrocanthosaurus was among the largest theropods known to have lived.
6.1 metric tonnes right? Huge
I've always thought the "guest favorite" reference from the announcer was a "fan-favorite" nod
Acro deserves SO MUCH LOVE, being so underrated and all..
So do you
