That happens with a lot of horror games that can be multiplayer and solo. When you're with a bunch of people, friends or randoms, you feel more safe and confident. But when you're alone, then it's just the deafening silence and the sense of impending doom approaching.

Spider:
When too much noise is made, a large spider-like creature will appear from the Earth. It will try to either kill one of you or take one you to its nest (underground across the map) the Spider takes you to its nest the first time it captures you. The second time it attacks you, you will be killed instead of taken to its nest.
Skinny:
The Skinny is the most common monster/enemy you will find around the map. You will know when they are near when you hear some sort of gargling noise. It makes it's noise for maybe around 3-4 seconds. The Skinnies are blind and are only attracted to noise or if you get in a certain radius of them. When the Skinny attacks, it will rush into your face. The Skinny can only be stunned by a flare or flare gun. When you shoot a flare gun at it, it will stun it for maybe around 10 seconds. Using a flare is best used when the Skinny rushes at you.
Tall boy:
The Tall boy stands still and looks like a tree. Upon closer inspection, they look like a skinny but a bit fatter and tall as a tree. The Tall boys seem to be like sentries and when you walk near them. the tall boy will not kill you but once it sees you it will make noise to attract other monsters.

You should try the in game voice chat next time, if i'm correct it will count as noice in the bar on the bottom left. Seen some video's of people screaming and only making it worse. This comment probably won't get throug the spam, but if somebody reads this, try it. Makes it a better overall experiance. Didn't watch the whole video, so if they changed it to in-game voice chat then i didn't say anything.

Mark noticed the noise meter only counts for the noise you make in-game, it doesn't count for your voice
Even the first time mark got nested, you can see they were already using the in-game voice
Mark sometime said every multiplayer horror game should have proximity chat because it enhances the horror aspect. Bob mocked him because of phasmophobia doing it first
