for anyone wondering what the bad ending is:
if you burn the girl the boiler glows green and then going back to the van is almost the same, but instead of saying good job, the dialogue goes "what? you burned the girl? whatever just get in the van". then, the player _wakes up_ and the girl in the observation is replaced by the player, i.e whatever tests were supposed to be done on the girl would've now gotten done on the player.
yes i am a whole year late.
But why would they run experiments on the player? :o

When talking about the fate of the girl, I love how Mark seems like the most sensible one, seemingly trying to avoid killing a child...until you see the non-descriptive white windowless van that the group apparently drives, which is one "free candy" sign away from being a abductor van.

Considering the entire game has you burn possessed dolls to purify them I'd imagine that was the best option.
