Her attitude is represented best in the chorus, where we assume her “switchblade,” or attitude, is by her side to protect from whatever will be thrown at her.
The music video also symbolizes it more, a moonchild arrived in a whole different world. Despite being surrounded by a lot of unfamiliar creatures she's feeling kinda brave, cuz she exploring it with a switchblade.
For me personally, this song has really deep meaning and I relate to it on a spiritual level. It's about adapting to a new environment and knowing that one will be alright with the determination and attitude one has. This song hits different as I'm now in my new high school. Ain't no familiar faces but I'm running with a switchblade! 😊🔥

I went to a university far away & started my new life. change can be scary but you need it to grow. i am just happy to know that people can listen to this as they move forward to the new chapters of their lives and will not be afraid.
