I didn't see him much outside of the playoffs last season. But when I saw him, he looked exactly like what he looked like in his draft year. He reminds me a bit of Sam Girard. A dynamic skater with great passing and vision. Maybe not to the same extent but similar type. I think he skates well enough to defend the rush and put sticks on pucks and play a tight gap but in his own zone, it's a different story. If he puts up Zellweger numbers in the AHL, he might have a chance at his size but I have some reservations. Zellweger is a beast and an elite skater and still had a pretty hard time in the NHL. So there's work to do, mostly away from the puck, but he has a few dynamic elements to his game that might help push him to a role in the NHL eventually.
@@bluechipprospectAye olen is my cousin really appreciate the love, he is shaping up to be pretty promising our whole family is super proud ( my dad already got a jersey signed)😂
Finally an honest take on Levshunov. I was against the hawks taking him. If people watched full games of his they would notice he’s consistently out of position, looks lost, doesn’t really have offensive iq, throws the puck away. All he has is speed. I think hawks fumbled on this pick. Hopefully I’m wrong.
I'm not sure what to think. Sometimes it's only the games you've watched. But many of his points and plays looked almost like accidents and defections while always being a little sloppy. But at the same time he's been good offensively 2 years in a row while making a giant jump in strength of competition. There's no way I'll believe that he's just been lucky for 2 years straight. So there's something there. So it might be very possible that me and you are the 2 crazy ones and everybody else are right 🤷
@@bluechipprospect I hope we’re proven wrong. Time will tell. But from the footage of full games I’ve seen if he plays like that, he will be a very minus player. He’s always one of the first to leave the defensive zone to go for an odd man rush. Leaves his assignment in front of the net. That’s a bad case for a second overall pick. Let’s hope his offensive potential and output really jumps.
Yeah, I think Dickinson has that type of ceiling. A bigger, heavier Jake Sanderson with a powerful shot type of defenseman imo. But I think the most likely outcome is a solid number 3 2-way defenseman that can contribute on both special units and eat 20+ minutes a night.
Big, smooth skating physical defenseman. Didn't see him much last season but saw him a ton the year prior cause he played with Leo Carlsson. I thought he needed work with the puck on his stick under pressure which is probably why he went later. But he's a great athlete and he can defend well. If he can make quicker and better decisions while using his physical tools to create space for himself on the breakout, he could be a solid 3rd pair I think. But I don't think he has enough of a transition and offensive game to be more than that. Take all this with a grain of salt though, I'm pretty sure I only saw him once last year and it was against Michael Brandsegg Nygard.
I like your list and your videos are awesome but I disagree with your ranking and assessment of Levshunov. I think he is going to be much better than many people think in a couple of years. Thanks for videos.
That's fair. I'd say that most people would disagree with my ranking and assessment of Levshunov. He was ranked as the best D in the draft by most people. I did not see it that way and it would be weird to suddenly change my opinion of him just because most people see it differently. I like him a lot but after a dozen games, I came out of it more impressed with the athleticism than the actual execution. Which is one of the major reason why I had him a bit lower than most. I might be very wrong 😆 the stats definitely don't support my claim but that's how I see it. Thanks for watching
Would Yakemchuk be the type of guy to be a perfect pick in a dynasty fantasy league? Seems like He’ll get points and s bunch of hits as his 2 main strength
Yakemchuck going to be much better then Dickinson. That's pretty high on zeev considering simashev and reinbacher are already well rounded. I think you're under estimating levahanovs ceeling. He probab can step in 16Min a night already. Reinbacher to me is the best out of all. 1. Reinbacher 2. Hutson 3. Simashev 4. Nikishkin No I'm not mtl fan but man Hutson looks like MacKinnion with those hands. Wallinder>Pelika I think you have to grade with Potential... so Dickinson prob just a #3... Yakemchuck Can be a #1. Materychuck won't be due to his defensive game. He more a #4 as a OfD.... Only parekh zayne and lame are the true #1 OfD.... So again it's hard to rank due to certain playrr types. Like Devon Towes is just as important as Cale so it's kinda an argument specifically with defnesmen and less fowards. Lundell or Wyatt Johnston.... two different players but yes they pretty much are 2nd liners. Ya Johnston will prob get more PP but doesn't negate other things.... hence why a more all around defenseman is prob more valuable then an OfD... Erik Karlson needs a Dfd just as much as Burns so even team makeup and the organization itself has a big responsibility of developing and placing their players.
Possible. I'd agree that he's above Mailloux right now but I don't think he's above any of the other players in tier 3, 2 and 1. Is he going to put more points on the board than Silayev, Reinbacher and Simashev ? For sure. No questions about it. But is he going to be more impactful ? That's debatable. For me it's a clear no but I understand the argument for a yes. His production is very good in the SHL. But he's right between David Runblad and Nils Lundkvist in PPG for a D+2 SHL season. Not exactly confidence inducing 😆 He is way more offensively dynamic than those 2 though and I think his shot might be elite for a defenseman. He has an incredible shot !
Just realized that I messed up Ben Danford's name in the table 😅 It is what it is 🤷
With Montreal having 3 players on this list along with Guhle already playing well and logging big minutes, Hab D is looking stacked for years to go
honestly, i could see levshunov turning into a player like brent seabrook. he's giving me that vibe lately.
Levshunov will have a lot more offense than Seabrook.
@@jasonprice9823 Seabrook was offensive when it mattered. Big goals.
McAvoy, Werenski, Doughty etc
I'm glad you're back!!! This channel is one of my favorite for all tje prospects. Love how you keep it real.
Thanks man ! Happy to progressively be back 😆
The names on the video bar are something else 😅Ryan Backer
😂 never realized... I didn't manually created the time stamps so it's AI generated. Logan Mayu, Axel Pila ... 😆
Breath of fresh air seeing Alexander Nikishin getting the respect he so badly deserves to be given.
What are your thoughts on Luca Cagnoni the sharks draft pick?

Yeah I bet you guys are proud ! He's a fantastic hockey player.
Dickinson looked like the best player on the ice (after 1st game) recent Rookie Showcase, very impressed

I've drafted dickinson and buium yesterday in my keepers draft, pretty happy with that 😅
very good list !
Marko Kiprusoff was a legend in Finland. Didn't know he was known outside of Liiga :)
What a steal Huston was in that draft, I’d say he’d go a lot higher in a redraft for that year
Do you think Sam Dickinson can be a true #1D? And what do you think the most likely outcome is for him in the NHL.

I dont agree with the list at all but it was fun vid to watch!
What do you think of Hunter Brzstewics?
Where would you rank zellweger and jiricek ?
Shit I missed the 45 first seconds for some reason and you covrred there 😅
What do you think of Canucks prospect Elias Pettersson?

Probably yeah. Not sure how he translates to the NHL but if does, there's a world where he's a Brent Burns light type of player.
Lol Dan Benford? You mean Ben Danford?
😂 I know.... I wrote it right at #16 but then messed it up in the ranking table. I think I even said Dan Benford at some point lol
Brandt Clark isn't a prospect anymore?
If I'm not mistaken, you can't play more than 6 games in 2 or more seasons to be eligible for the Calder trophy.
And Clarke played 9 and 16.

Props on Nikishin at #1, but Danford and Mailloux have no business being anywhere near this list.
I obviously disagree but who would you replace them with ? I'm guessing Bonk ? Who else ?
Danford i agree shouldn’t be there but mallioux is going to open a lot of eyes 3rd in points in the ahl as a rookie dman is very impressive
Dimitri should be higher
Like in the 1st tier or like above Reinbacher but still in the 2nd tier ?
Mailoux 12 ok
Bonk>Danford lmaoo
Axel sandin pelika is way to low
