I'm digging this and so glad you lowered the rack, looks good. My OCD thinks the uprights on the rack need to be switched, so the angles are on the ends, not the center., facing each other. That would look ascetically correct. No doubt it will function as is. Good job man!
Super impressive! This is exactly what I’m hoping to do (albeit with a F150). The Adarac seems like the best rack system that allows some flexibility and could allow the Softopper to fit.
I love your videos brother! My family and I are moving from Idaho to South Carolina because I am in the Air Force and I’m really looking forward to enjoying the great outdoors there!
I have same setup on 2014 tacoma....im told the bed and rails, are comp plastic...wonder if a flat steel strip under the soft topper cantilevered outwards about 3 inches and then use 4 c clamps on each side to squeeze down the strip🤔🤔🤔 ya think that will hold a rooftop tent about 240 pounds??? Thx...tomk fdny....great videos, and builds....wish you were my nieghbor✌
Been following along, digging the build! I loved my softopper on my Tacoma. Im ready to see the inside of the camper. If you need some rock sliders to use that hilift on hit up Bash Fabrication down in Columbia, SC
Very nice custom build. I have a matching color fiberglass topper on my Frontier and its too bad you had to lower the rack as oppose to raising the softopper. The reason is when we are camping we sleep inside the shell. I can sit up and barely touch the roof with my head. It would be nice to have a few more inches of height inside. Yours however is for storage not sleeping.
Liking the truck mods . Don't want to be a downer. But be prepared and careful traveling out of state this hunting season . Things are looking bit sketchy these days
I appreciate it, but I’m not too worried about it. I drive straight out there. I stop at rest areas and gas stations that’s about it. You don’t hear of many bad reports in wilderness areas, haha.
Been looking for a ladder/bed rack like the one you installed. I'm doing kayaks not a basket. I'm curious what brand that rack was. I actually have my Ram 1500 set up with a Bak Revolver and a Softopper designed to be quickly interchangeable (roll up the tonneau, and simply pop on the Softopper frame/top). If I can get the rack on there, I'll pretty much have every option possible.
Does this rack touch the softopper at all? If you had the correct topper for your truck do you think it would clear the topper? Does the softopper frame rail fit completely on the rack rail? Trying to find a good/ inexpensive (relatively) combo and this looks pretty good.
Hey thats the setup I want for my 22 frontier. Does the soft topper leak water in now that you installed the angle irons on the bed rails? Looks like they would trap water to the inside? Thanks!
@@sclivingoutdoors well it looks great, can you give me a little more info on the rack you used? Did you fab the angle irons or did they come with it? Thanks man!
Did the guy selling the soft topper have it on a Tacoma? Or was it frontier specific? A lot of people around me have Tacoma soft toppers for sale, but I'm not sure if it'll fit
I believe mine was actually made for a Colorado. It’s actually a little too short and you can’t really see out the back but that also has to do with the plastic back glass on the topper. I have a back up camera that I installed that I run all the time and it works as a rearview mirror for me.
Nicely done - that looks great
Nice ideas, awesome fabrications. You've got skills....
the add a rack idea is good to know for custom setups like this where other bed racks wont fit right, good job
Looks great, I may add a rack over my topper. always changing, never stops.

Thanks for watching. I’m really happy with how it turned out.
perfect set up
I love the look, love the tool mounts also... well done and cheers times three
Exactly what I want for my soft shell taco. Thank you!

It has worked well for me
I'm definitely getting the rack over the softopper now. Looks great
It turned out really great!
Nice job. It looks really good and you're doing it all yourself !
Thx for the video.
I've been looking at those and I like that rack. In the end I love your set up on the truck. Mr. B.
Thanks. It turned out nice. It works well for me.
Looking good, I like the build. Cheers
Hard to find secondhand softtopper for frontier nowadays. Lucky you got that for cheap
This one was actually made for a Colorado, but I made it work. Also, I drove about 150 miles to get it.
Excellent. Clearly, you do mighty good work.
Thank you.
Attempting to do the opposite and create a custom soft top cover for my Leitner design rack. Great build!
That's what I'm trying to do too!
Truck is looking Sweet!!!!!!!!
It’s coming along nicely
Loving the DIY work fam
good video
looks solid, looks great, looks legit..... thanks for sharing! 💯
Thank you
Looks awesome! So skillful, it was very cool to watch you work
Thank you.
Awesome builds! I love customized Frontiers as I too am personalizing my 2013. Thanks for sharing!
No problem 👍

Idaho is one of my most favorite places to hunt. I love it there.
SCliving Outdoors i enjoy it but I sure do miss the east coast!
Very nice , great job .
Thank you
Nice rig!

I built a mini camper for sleeping. It’s pretty great. I use it when traveling all over. There are a few videos about it on my channel. 👍🏻
Looks good bud, followed.
Looks great👍🏻
Thanks 👍
Talked to you at the circle K today !
That was me, haha.

The rack is an ADARAC.
Looks cool but I was wondering if the rails channel the rain into your SofTopper?
No. It stays pretty dry back there in the rain. It’s not as dry as a normal hard topper but it does a pretty good job.
Looks sweet! Does the rack prevent the soft topper from folding down?
I’m honestly not sure. I don’t really ever plan on folding it down.
@@sclivingoutdoors why the softtopper then...
@@jussilliman bc I wanted a topper and I wasn’t going to pay a kings ransom for a hard topper. The soft top works great

What about when it rains. Wouldn't water enter your truck bed where the topper meets the black metal rails across top of the truck bed
Nope. Doesn’t leak.
Where did you get the the basket and who makes it , nice job
I ordered it off Amazon. I just started looking at them until I found one I liked.
Nice! Does the window on the soft topper that butts up to the rear cab windows open or roll up?
I honestly don’t know. I’ve never done either.
do the pick axe bro you get mad respect from minecrafters
I actually put a rotomolded gas can on the other side.
Do you think those racks would hold a rooftop tent.?
The top crossbars are aluminum on mine. If I was going to put a roof top ten I would replace them with steel.
Do you work with your face🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣good video brother from another mother....
Can you out truck build info in description. Tires ect.
Hey thats the setup I want for my 22 frontier. Does the soft topper leak water in now that you installed the angle irons on the bed rails? Looks like they would trap water to the inside? Thanks!
It doesn’t leak. Maybe a tiny bit of water here and there but that’ll happen with any soft top.
@@sclivingoutdoors well it looks great, can you give me a little more info on the rack you used? Did you fab the angle irons or did they come with it? Thanks man!
@@Kadoogin18 thanks. All I did on the angle iron was cut it down to the dimensions I wanted.
Do you have any problem reaching the snaps inside of the adarack track?
Maybe just one or two
What happen on d22 with 41/2 bed

@@sclivingoutdoors Good to know Thanks!
How did you put the magnets on the back?
Alexander Muto they came on the cover.
What size loft and tires/rims did you go with
chad knight 2.5” lift. 33”x12.50”r20
is there a softopper option that covers the rear light?
Just removed it and get a a plate that covers the whole that matched the paint number seen it don’t many times
What did you use to mount the shovel on side?
U-bolts
Why does this soft topper seem so small on the truck?
It’s made for a Colorado.
how can i got the bed rack just like you?
JON Qiao mine is a modified Adarac.
The friends or friends will put water on the bed
What brand is that rack?
Adarac
Put a gun turret on it
