  • In this video Bunch Bikes CEO Aaron Powell shows how to safely ride a front-load 3-wheel electric cargo bike.
The advantage of a cargo trike is the huge carrying capacity in the front bucket/box (holds up to 4 kids or 2 large dogs) and the stability at slow speeds.
There are some handling differences between a family cargo bike and a normal bicycle, but anyone can learn to do it!
In this video, we hi-light some of the most important things to consider when riding a front-load cargo bike, shown below:
00:00 - How to Ride a Three Wheel Cargo Trike
00:08 - Using the Parking Brakes
00:14 - Loading Up a Cargo Trike with Children
00:20 - Toddlers, Babies, and Infants in a Cargo Bike
00:25 - Properly Attaching Child Seat Belts
00:31 - Tip: Loading Adults in the Front Cargo Box
00:37 - Safety Warnings - Be Careful at High Speeds and When Turning
00:48 - How to Safely Take Turns on a Cargo Trike
1:07 - Riding onto an Incline, Driveway, or Speedbump
1:19 - Riding a Cargo Bike at High Speeds
1:31 - Navigating Obstacles - Potholes, Uneven Roads, Bumps
1:42 - Cambered (Sloped) Roads - Keeping the Bike Straight
    1:52 - Riding Uphill (Don't Stand Up)
2:00 - Riding Downhill (Use the Brakes!)

These E-Cargo Bikes are perfect for downtown car-free communities like Culdesac in Tempe AZ - Just imagine how safe and sustainable it would be if families organized bike buses like Sam Balto in Oregon to pick up and drop off their kids from school.

They are very effective car replacements, especially if almost everything you need is within a radius of a few miles.

In the U.K. search for one of these brands: Babboe, Winther, Raleigh. Similar style of bikes that may or may not be available in your area.

Why not put the box in the back single wheel up front you know common Sense

The biggest benefit to having up front is being able to see the kid-seating area. You are able to laugh and talk with your kids while you ride... making memories and sharing a fun experience together.

Absolutely. In my case the passenger is my wife. She's gonna want to see where she's going. Who wants to look at someone's backside all day - a common complaint of many tandem riders, and I'm sure kids in traditional rear-mounted seats aren't enamoured of being stuck back there.

      That is another trike style.
      To each his own.

Common Sense... Depending on what your needs and wants are... That's why there are trikes in the style that you mention.
This style is not for what you're apparently looking for.

The "reverse trike" style (with the cargo box in front) is quite a bit more stable. More fun to have passengers in front, too!
