The girl chilling out the window, listening with earplugs, gives me a sense of joy that only concert goers can understand. Music is by far the most underrated communication means; can’t understand people stuck to 4/4 always same pop music or people who don’t listen to music daily. They don’t know what are missing…
I mind hearing this and subsequently seeing it on the day it was broadcast..it was so good to have live music back after lockdown.. and what an absolute belter. If I was in Glasgow that day, I'd be dancing outside the windae too. Gives me chills, then and now❤
I listened to this session on the radio in work as it happened, how lucky are those 2 people also listening to the live broadcast but actually watching it unfold through the window at the same time.. How fucking cool is that.
Как же я завидую той паре, что на 05:46 - 05:55 видна за окном! Верю, это папа с дочерью. Папа привёл дочь на онлайн своей любимой группы, и дочь в восторге, а папа от этого ещё в большем восторге. Thanks from Moscow, Russia
When I heard Mary Anne Hobbs losing it after hearing this, I became 'emotional'. When I listened back, I comppletely fucking lost it and was in flood of tears. I miss live music, I miss Mogwai...
@@syriacchristianity9007 Thurston Moore, Lee Ranaldo, Robert Smith, Johnny Marr, Kurt Cobain, and John Frusciante are the main ones all for different reasons, but all have played Jags/JM’s.
Stuart's (amazing) guitar parts towards the end remind me of the double's 'a throw of a distance', and 'the heavenly music corporation' by fripp & eno (no pussyfooting LP).
The drive of the song reminds me of teenage riot by Sonic youth, with some elements of 90's flaming lips and Mercury Rev... Which Steven Drozd told me he loved mogwai in the same breath of mentioning aphex twin-
New Mogwai BBC session recordings? Hell fuckin' yeah! Government Comissions has always been one my favorite albums of theirs, RIP John Peel :(, so I'll gladly listen to whatever they want to lay down on the BBC.
makes me wish I was at the Roundhouse, watching Mogwai play in celebration of their 25th year! There will be another time, I am sure of it. The new album is excellent as well!
People can get into the depths with lyrics but the melody of a song is what makes it, this is a musical masterpiece.
The greatest band the world has never heard, but needs to hear.
Sometimes i think about sonic youth. XD
That guitar tone at the peak of the song is insane
amen brother.
Totally, like a nice flute so gorgeous
saw them live about 10 years ago and they played this mid-set. That part blew my head off. I don't think I'm over it, even still today
I was introduced to Mogwai and Boards of Canada in the 90's and haven't looked back. I won't give him the credit because I know he wants it!
Possibly the greatest piece of music ever
I tend to go with helicon 1 but I wouldn’t argue bro
Well, that was fucking glorious. Thank you, gents.
I really wish I could like a video more than once

Impossible to play this once, I play it at least three times in a row. Magical music!

Never heard of Mogwai until I saw mention in a comment on a video of the band "Explosions in the Sky." Glad I came by to hear this.
I just love this song, and performance
Genuine and totally serious 😮
What a beautiful video! The landscape, the sound quality, and my favourite band! Hello from Italy and thank you!!
Hello lore in Italy hello from England 👋

When I heard Mary Anne Hobbs losing it after hearing this, I became 'emotional'. When I listened back, I comppletely fucking lost it and was in flood of tears. I miss live music, I miss Mogwai...
Yes I had something in my eye at the end as well
She felt as we all felt. The sheer emotional joy of hearing something live after so long.
The sound quality is just perfect! 🤌🏽
Mogwai are genius, just so good.
Glad to see this song again on your list. I hope to listen it live soon
Absolutely sublime. Long live Mogwai.

Saw them in LA a few weeks ago. The we’re in 🔥. Favorite track- Ceiling Granny.. that part when you feel like your underwater engulfed by 🎸 ..❤️🔥
Bonzer.
Yes!
Now all of my favorite guitarists play/played fender offsets. Stuart sounds amazing on the jazzmaster.
Who are your other favourites?
@@syriacchristianity9007 Thurston Moore, Lee Ranaldo, Robert Smith, Johnny Marr, Kurt Cobain, and John Frusciante are the main ones all for different reasons, but all have played Jags/JM’s.
surprised it took him so long. it fits him so well
What did he use before? I have a Rickenbacker because of the Byrds. But Kevin Shields also plays a Jazzmaster.
@@syriacchristianity9007 Stuart mostly used a telecaster. Dark green with a Scotland flag. You'll see it in almost any live performance.
The best advertising space in the universe is right up there on Dominic's chest!!
Me encanta la calidad de sonido. Buena banda Mogwai!!
The greatest landscape painting using musical instruments . Powerful music ✊ hardcore will never die !
But you will
@@merunkovykefir9578 😂
@@merunkovykefir9578 you know your stuff
Hardcore will never die was a phrase from shitty fast 90s techno music.
@@merunkovykefir9578 and in the meantime ....wide open !
Wow, sounds like a classic already.
Loved Stuart's playing on this.
Brilliant.
It is a classic - from the 2011' "Hardcore Will Never Die. But You Will." - Album
@@tobimm2 haha, oh aye.
Don't worry, I've been listen to Mogwai for 10 years and I barely know what song is what and from where! Hahaha
@@eddclemas1151 try 25.
I'm ashamed.
So good.
Just gorgeous!
Sensational
An all time Mogwai favourite, thats for sure.
Just the best band on the earth. Easy.
Did BBC 6 shut down or something? This channel seems abandoned.
Bellissimo!!
What a fantastically harmonious song!
Well I’ll be watching these videos a bunch. Cheers❤️
Splendid.
how I miss loosing my shit while attending a Mogwai show.. best feeling ever...
That sounds really gross.
My friend also lots his hearing almost during.....

Wow. This sounds absolutely fantastic. Xxxxxxxxx
Love it
This and Friend of the Night are my favorite songs of all time. Epic performance.
one person doesn't like this, they obviously need help. This is simply magnificent
Dislikes from people who thought it was an instructional video
I don't like it .. it's repetitive and boring but if you like it good on you
A little bit repetitive. Good at about 4:30. And masks, really? One guys not wearing a fuckin diaper so obviously not required and not doing shit.
I’ve seen them live. Even better than this. I just want to go back an relive.
oh wow...this is really really good

I had heard of Mogwai before but wow ! Did I miss something or has COVID transformed them ? Off to order the catalogue now....
Nope, they’ve sounded this way for years now!
I've known about Mogwai for a while but only just started listening to them now. Biffy c fan
Still one of the most important and original bands about. Sheer brilliance.
My fav track ever
Welcome back Martin!!
I'm so hype to see him back on the drum set.
Motorik magnificence.
There's no live version of this song for a long time.
