The reason the state and church hordes weapons is there was a killbot uprising after a golden age of technology, if you look in the town square you can see the hero who stopped them in glorious statue form (this is genuinely the games backstory) and from what I can tell from the pictures in the church and stories in the school the church of light came about because when the killbots burned down cities the air was covered in smoke but it cleared up when they were defeated and they don't want the scientist to bring the murdertrons back. Also there are guards because a foreign country called Davos or something wants to invade because MINE MINE MINE MINE MINE. (again this is really the story of this cute happy game)
For such a big sci fi fan im surprised you dont worry about giving scientists potential doomsday weapons. This is like him joining the institute for the fluffy towels isnt it?
Not Important Yeah, you can get some colour correction glasses for one of the townsfolk from them that you can use to improve the town morale. Where as the church has seeds!
The bit with the airship and present drops just reminds me of Mad Max Fury Road, and how Immortan Joe controls people with water. Jon is right, there is something rather dark going on here.
Its the "survival of the fittest" method of handing them out that made me chuckle uneasily. Why have a table with one present per citizen when you can have them scrap it out in some kind of gift royale.
The townsfolk shouldn't really worry about an impending attack. Jon should just remind the them that his "Kill Everything" runs are reserved for Fallout.
Jesus Christ I've been sitting here for twenty minutes trying to find the Nerdcubed video of this... Turns out it was Jon's Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles video I was thinking of. WHY IS MY MEMORY LIKE THIS
I know I am too late for party, but you should play this again. Good crafting, suprisingly full story and interesting characters, fun, but not hard combat, lost dog and pink cat... what more you want, Jon?
This game also has a very complex crafting mechanism which you like, could you perhaps explain what you preferred in this game's execution of it over Graveyard Keeper's which you disliked for the same reason?
It seems like that Dee-Dee stop allows you to hire a taxi service to take you to other stops. This game seems pretty freaking sweet for being so early in development. Please put out a few more of these videos.
I think the people who made the Rune Factory series are the only ones who decided to cram combat into a Harvest Moon-y type game and actually remembered to make the combat fun.
I like how this game went from Sort of Harvest moon, to We happy few, sort of, to Dragon age inquisition/Dark souls. I'm getting it, sod off. Also, It is apparent that Jon does not know what an auto Rickshaw (tuk tuk) is. Its essentially a motorized single bodied Tricycle (I say that, because here in the Philippines, the Tricycle, which is literally a Motorbike with a sidecar attached to it, used for public transport, exists.)
This game looks amazing, totally getting it! Does anyone know if you can play this with multiple people? Having one person focusing on adventure and one on farming sounds like an awesome idea to me.
Hey Jon! Would you ever consider a mini series of "My Time at Portia"? I'm a fan of it now that I've seen it (before this video, didn't know it existed) And if you'd be willing to record and edit videos of it, I'd love to watch them!
have you tried Banished? good little game that one, just all about building a town. no monsters or anything attacking, just managing your town. which is to say, the only thing that can kill you is...well yourself. But it's a cool little sim, worth a check! Not a series probably but maybe good for a one-off?
You know if you leveled up your tools/weapons it would probably reduce the amount of stamina you use to gather materials and let you do more in one day. By the way are there vendors besides the tool shop whom you can sell to? If so is it possible they have variable rates that they buy different items for?
I really want to play this it looks great. I know my brother would like it he plays Minecraft. If this ever comes to console I'm definitely getting it.
is this made by the same guys who made Yonder: Cloud Catcher Chronicles? because if it isn't then how did Jon forget it? the Aesthetic is the exact same, and he loved Yonder so much as well
Theory. This game does take place after the Apocalypse. Many many milleniums later. The Church has ancient relics speaking on why science is bad. The scientists don't care and may do something terrible with the technology.
Essentially everyone's pissing themselves that the mechanical rapetrains that are the killbots will return
Imperium Britannica This comment was a mouthful
Ikr but the story is surprisingly complex
So by donating all of the tech to the scientists is Jon contributing to the second killbot uprising cause he wants a plane
Brandon Welsh exactly!
I like this Jon you should keep playing this!
Protectron 952 make it a series
I wish this game was out! i'd play the heck out of this
It is out. You can go buy it at this very second. There is even a demo if you like to try before buy.
Protectron 952 yes please make it a series!
Also the Deedee is a bus type vehicle (used for public transport)
That's why you couldn't drive it
What demo? Not so much as a d/l button on steam store page, and (what appears to be the entry) actually loops to the store page.
For such a big sci fi fan im surprised you dont worry about giving scientists potential doomsday weapons. This is like him joining the institute for the fluffy towels isnt it?
Also Jon did you try shaving the llamas before slaughtering them for a car?
Not Important Yeah, you can get some colour correction glasses for one of the townsfolk from them that you can use to improve the town morale. Where as the church has seeds!
For someone who has been spending time in the postapocalyptic wasteland the fluffy towels would reasonably make a really good salespitch.
I hope there's a another video of this coming, it's so cheerful and fun
I think Jon could play Mine Sweeper for an hour and I'd be captivated the whole time.
He did excel once, it was enthralling.
The bit with the airship and present drops just reminds me of Mad Max Fury Road, and how Immortan Joe controls people with water.
Jon is right, there is something rather dark going on here.
I believe all the presents are what everyone in town donated. But you're right, it's socialism.
Its the "survival of the fittest" method of handing them out that made me chuckle uneasily.
Why have a table with one present per citizen when you can have them scrap it out in some kind of gift royale.
It has come very far since this and doesn't sound as scary anymore. Has become my favourite game.
The climax of this video was gold. Please do more, that was thoroughly enjoyable.
Jon's mind: "There's a terrifying totalitarian theocracy, but if I catch a fish I might be able to adopt a cat."
This was a really good video, and honestly this could be your next Saturday series after Skyrim?
The townsfolk shouldn't really worry about an impending attack. Jon should just remind the them that his "Kill Everything" runs are reserved for Fallout.
oh man he kills everything in far more series than just fallout
lets not forget teh hitman kill everything special, lol. Mardi gras will never be the same.
I can tell Sir Ordosan is a fast typer.
"teh"
A mistake i make often, but notice almost immediately.
Jon is going through the 5 stages of grief with the llamas
This art style/ color pallet always gets me.
Because Pinky is a good cat, and deserves a fish.
*Kick*
Jesus Christ I've been sitting here for twenty minutes trying to find the Nerdcubed video of this... Turns out it was Jon's Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles video I was thinking of. WHY IS MY MEMORY LIKE THIS
Just wanna say I love your channel Jon! Cheers mate!
And tabby. Without tabby, there is no channel. All hail tabby
Cheers, he says.
Drinking, i was, reading this when.
Speaking like yoda i am, why? because funny it is. I'll stop now.
YOU KICKED PINKY!? YOU MONSTER!
Looks like Yogventures but real
Daniel Kniffin shots fired also yogventures never looked this good
The furniture you place in your house, will give you stat boosts so you can go do dungeons even more!
That art style is beautiful!
I know I am too late for party, but you should play this again. Good crafting, suprisingly full story and interesting characters, fun, but not hard combat, lost dog and pink cat... what more you want, Jon?
I'd like to see you play more of this!
This game does look really interesting. Love the backstory that you made for it XD
This seems like my kind of game. The freedom to choose between the activities you want to do, and the systems they have set up so far seem fun.
This game also has a very complex crafting mechanism which you like, could you perhaps explain what you preferred in this game's execution of it over Graveyard Keeper's which you disliked for the same reason?
Make it a series Jon.
I need more of this in my life
Please do more! This game could genuinely be made into a series, rather than just showing it off and forgetting about it
Ok, Jon, you didn't commit adorable genocide, it was clearly some adorable murders. :3
They also made planet explorers, in that game you design the stuff you build like weapons, cars, boats and so on
Q:How do those who don't give ancient weapons to the church cook their food?
A:Heat hen
Just realised, does the title contain a subtle nod to 'The Wind Rises'? Absolutely adored that film
The thief are rat bandits just beyond the giant snail thing.. also swords are the best for combat since they have fast attack speed and has combo.
I think I'm gonna get this game. It seems incredibly fun and hopefully will be fully fleshed out by the end of the year
I wonder if you will do a series on this game, your total reaction of games are the best ever. Will watch to see what you do and how far you get.
That rampage at the end was hillarious
I would love to see more of this game.
It is in full release... Please do a series!
Jon's been playing quite a bit of these one offs recently.
It's because Warhammer 2 is done - that freed up a lot of time!
Many A True Nerd hey I'm not complaining, most of them are fun to watch. And BTW, love your skyrim series.
Me: The game has llamas. Definitely will get this.
Me, later: You have to kill the llamas?! Nope, not buying
You don't have to. That's just the easiest way. There are enemies in other parts that drop them. Like rat bandits.
Jon, you should keep playing this game. It was very calming :)
I would not mind one bit of you uploaded more footage of you playing this game, Jon
Jon please keep playing this game
I need to play this....
Reminds me of Dark Cloud as well.

Does anyone know if you can play this with multiple people? Having one person focusing on adventure and one on farming sounds like an awesome idea to me.
Oh, this is like a 3D Stardew Valley, given the amount of time I sunk into that one, this one's right up my alley.
Have a good day.
What, they can make t-shirts, blimps, and personal jetpacks, but haven't even figured out cars?
You must make this a series when it comes out!!!
That bit with the llamas is a clear environmentalist message.
We need more parts to this game!
Lama Skinned Seats for your car, nice!
Damn, for a second I thought you were gonna play my favorite Zelda game. Still cool though!
Having watched DangerouslyFunny's videos on this, I was laughing at you going into the cave with just an axe
Hey Jon! Would you ever consider a mini series of "My Time at Portia"? I'm a fan of it now that I've seen it (before this video, didn't know it existed) And if you'd be willing to record and edit videos of it, I'd love to watch them!

which is to say, the only thing that can kill you is...well yourself. But it's a cool little sim, worth a check! Not a series probably but maybe good for a one-off?
The first place in Windwaker is Windfall Island
Collection those pressies dropped by the BoS would probably be a lot easier if Jon was using a keyboard...
More of this!! Please!
Jon, I think you'd like the Atlier series. This was giving me some vibes of that.
would you ever live stream this?
All Jon wants in life is to be a bus driver, apparently.
I would love to see a live stream of this...
Ya! Jon spent an hour building a Tuk Tuk!
That breath of the wild stamina bar though
Jon you should make this a series
Please make this a serie!!
The wind waker town is Port Monee.
I would love for him to return to this game for a livestream, with Claire in tow. Claire seems like she would love this game.
So yeah this looks like a fun game prolly gonna buy it & would def watch if you made this into a multi episode thing
This looks great!
would you mind making this into a series I'm sure it would be much appreciated, looking forward to it.
You know if you leveled up your tools/weapons it would probably reduce the amount of stamina you use to gather materials and let you do more in one day. JON KICKS TABBY CONFIRMED!
I really want to play this it looks great. I know my brother would like it he plays Minecraft. If this ever comes to console I'm definitely getting it.
Can't wait for more
Remington is a gun manufacturer.
Reminds me a lot of Yonder The Cloud Chronicles.
Love the video
Ohhhhhhh what's this?
More please!
I'm suddenly reminded of Rune Factory.
oooh is it out??!! been waiting for it for a while
Do they respawn, or is it a sinister plan of the church?
Love it please play more.
What's the character customisation like?
Is... Is jon trying to fight stuff with an axe instead of a sword?
Part 2 now the game is officially out?
Mini-series! Mini-series! Mini-series! Mini-series! Mini-series! Mini-series! Mini-series! Mini-series! Mini-series! Mini-series! Mini-series!
is this made by the same guys who made Yonder: Cloud Catcher Chronicles? because if it isn't then how did Jon forget it? the Aesthetic is the exact same, and he loved Yonder so much as well
On the list of games to buy
The people are afraid of a neighboring nation, Duval.
There is a map in town.
So the church wants to hord all the ancient weapons so this games equivalent of the Brotherhood of Steel.
Brotherhood Of Catholics?
This was a really funny gameplay 😂
this game is basically warhammer 40k but with farming
Theory.
This game does take place after the Apocalypse. Many many milleniums later.
The Church has ancient relics speaking on why science is bad.
The scientists don't care and may do something terrible with the technology.
Was skeptical of this game until you started slaughtering llamas, then it was an instant sale =D
this sounds very similar to the new anime/manga "made in abyss" (its one of the best animes in a while)
I bet there is a way to drive the car, but it is weirdly complicated or something.
