I previously owned a Scott with the 3 lock fork settings and found that I would get distracted from riding trying to determine if it should be fully open, partially, or locked. After a while I just left it in the open setting most of the time; one less thing to think about. As for the electronic shifting, I've had too many friends realize mid-ride they forgot to charge the battery. I'm all for change and improvement, but sometimes simpler is truly better.
Yes you could, but combined with the stiffer frame, the suspension is still fairly firm - too firm for my liking. Obviously if climbing efficiency is real important you would use the stiffest setting, but I prefer the more subtle and softer feel with the suspension open, and I’m prepared to compromise the climbing efficiency.
