I'm thinking about buying a Mars 3 this summer. Do you have some recommendations for protection gear, especially a mask to use for resin printing at home?
I wish that I had found your video first! Without a doubt this is the first and only video that I have found that is complete from start to finish on the Elegoo Mars 3 - 4K 3D printer. Thank you!!!
Dude, you gave me so much good info, I couldn't find any videos on how to properly step by step on how to put models in the printer, really appreciate this dude! 👍
THANK YOU so much, I was having trouble figuring out how to use chitubox with my Elegoo mars 3. Your video was the best one i watched! Very clear and precise
It's relieving and somehow adds another frustration to the layers of layers of frustration today but....when you said to start printing with the plate up that finally solved the mystery and the last blocker of setting up my Mars4Ultra today. Thanks for mentioning that
I got my Elegoo Mars 3 Pro 3 days ago (290$ nice color display, better cooling/ longer lifetime, normal exposure 1.8 second but no Chitubox Pro license) and the high detailed printed results are amazing.
@@nickoleross6199 I hope you saw the video at minute @18:50 and after. The build plate got deep scratches by the way he removed the finished workpiece using that sharp tool.
I just received my Mars 3, it's in the box on the floor next to me. Thank you so much for your video! I am not worried I will make any mistakes with setup because of it.
Got it running but waited a day to get a magnetic build plate. Glad I did it made removing the part super easy. Also the instructions mention moving the Z axis .01mm when leveling so that the paper you have underneath can be pulled out with a small amount of resistance. Helps with eliminating that elephant foot effect. My first prints were amazing using water washable resin from Nova3D. I also build a curing station out of an aluminum foil lined box with a solar turntable and UV lamp for $35 CDN. I had the washing/curing station in the cart but it was over my budget for now.
The most beneficial tutorial video I have seen. You were in depth without being so technical that I couldn't understand. Thank you!!!! and you went ALL the way to the end!!! Thank you!
I'm going to skip out on the wash station because I plan on just using the water washable resin. Certainly cheaper to shake a bucket around myself. I was hoping to get away with a UV flashlight but I might have to break down and buy the curing chamber. Going to make my first print in a few days so hopefully all goes well!
Just got my Mars 3 yesterday and trying to follow the instructions was slightly confusing since I'm new to 3D printing. This video was so incredibly helpful!! Still waiting on my wash and cure station to arrive but hoping I can start printing soon!
just set mine up, and was slightly confused by the wording of the setup (hence being here) you're 4 months in, I decided on the water based resin, which resin are you using, and how is working for you?
@@zollodiecast I use the water washable resin. For the most part, printing has been fairly easy however you do want to make sure your resin is warm before printing. I keep my house at 68°and when it's too cold, the prints won't stick to the build plate. Also set your bottom exposure to a higher number. My bottom exposure is set to 90 secs...just a few tips I picked up over the last 4 months.
Just used this video to print my very first 3D model - took it step by step as you described. Incredibly helpful and probably wouldn't have been able to do it without your support. Marvellous stuff!!!
Maybe one sheet of paper are OK but you forgot to set the new Z zero position ? (or is it only on the Mars 3 Pro) on the Pro you leave the page with the manual moving buttons and prress the button "new Z zero" or "new Z home" (can't remember ATM)
Great video as always. Thing that puts me off of resin printing is well demonstrated, the amount of space you need for at least three printer and the curing station.
Also from factory my printer has the resin wick up the inside of the seal and slowly leaks onto the plate where you screw it down and nearly glued my screws in!! Be careful yo
So after removing the bed for the wash and cure station after each print, do you need to re-level every time ? Or once those two screws are set and locked down your good to go ?
Once they are set you're all good. The spring doesnt move, and honestly, just scraping off the print and washing them straight in there works just as well.
@@mads9aar The hex nuts that hold the build plate in position are not that reliable. Even with extreme caution the orientation of the plate is easily thrown off when removing the print from the build plate. Elegoo is an order of magnitude better than Anycubic, but this build plate mount has a serious design flaw. So if you want continued successful prints, relevel.
I have received my mars 3 couple days ago and it does work very nice. The prints are very detailed with default setting. Only one thing I'd complain is the fan noise is a bit loud.
@@maddawg9636 it wouldn’t print to design. The models would elongate, stretch, warp. I tried everything. I know a bit about printing and couldn’t troubleshoot it. I ended up putting it down to a faulty printer and sent it back after 3/4 weeks of trying. Honestly put me off resin completely.
so frustrated i didn't get an extra FEP film and my printer came with a hole in the film. great set up guide tho can't wait to actually use it whenever my replacement film arrives.
The manual does give instructions that are a little different from this demonstration. The English manual words things a little strangely, so watching this video definitely helps clear up a few questions.
Do I have to wait to grab the models after they are done printing?.. because mine are very wet and drippy. Already ruined both pairs of gloves that came with the kit.
My first attempt at some point the thing tilted and the rooks look bad. I’m hoping it was my fault for not tightening the bolts enough. Second try and happening now.
when i press home and do the paper thing, the paper can be pulled out from under the build plate very easily, shouldnt it be stuck under there? id brign the build plate down in /10mm increments untilo the paper is stuck but im scared ill crack the lcd screen. what do i do since i feel that the paper being able to be pulled out easily the build plate wont be level
Paper shouldn't be either completely stuck or completely loose. There should be some resistance when you pull. Same technique works with some self-leveling FDM printers.
just bought my mars elegy 3 and on the exposure test it lights up but it doesn't show the logo like yours following the unboxing steps as in the video wanted to know if this means my printer is broke please let me know if you can help
I have a printing problem with this printer i got some cracks on my printed objects and also i have a peeling off from the print bed Could you please describe what could be the cause of these problems I can send pictures
When I sliced and saved the file to the desktop and dragged to the USB for printing, when I tried on the printer, it said "unknown format." Any thoughts? Also, this was an excellent video - very informative for a beginner such as myself.
Followed this tutorial down to the letter, and my models keep coming out with this white residue on them in random places, even the demo model. I'm using the exact same resin and everything. Is there something I'm doing wrong?
I don’t have a resin printer but what I’ve seen is the white residue is caused by I believe the model not drying all the way before it’s cured? Not 100% in this answer but I feel like I’ve heard that
So for a bit more for a capable inkjet you can get a resin printer. I dont really feel that its overpriced. I feel that there is a lot of technology inside for an expected price. Question? How heat resistant are the models? I was wondering how well they hold up in a warm environment? A small widget for a car or other place where the temps might rise a bit. Droopy Snoopy if I resin printed is a different character.
Thank you so much for the video I appreciated a lot big hug I did my first print with just the info they send lol made lots of errors but not that far from the correct way.. thank you again
congratulations nice video, I wanted to know a site where you can download free models. I would buy it to print accessories and miniatures for naval modeling of sailing ships, thanks
Once you confirm leveling the bed raise the bed then let it auto home then test your GAP then try printing!!!! You do not want to put your plate through your screen or fep!!! It's like a weak screen protector!!
Are there assholes still forcing this to be used with the Chitubox slicer or did they finally come to their senses and open up for people that bought this the choice of using other slicers? TBH this is the only thing preventing me to buy this printer.
PSA: NEVER use the metal scraper on the plate! You will damage your plate that way. Use the plastic one. It takes a bit more time to get your prints off, but your plate will last a hell of a lot longer!
