    I purchased my first RE in July , the classic 350 halcyon gray , I love it , thinking of selling my V Strom 650 and getting a Interceptor , love your bike ! Thanks for letting me know about Baak

    Reading thru the comments I saw one asking about the headlight performance. IMAO, as with everything on the RE 650, it is just fine and is very functional. I live in the US in the state of PA. and there are many deer. To avoid colliding with them at night I ride with my finger on the yellow passing lever on the left handgrip. This does not burn up the wiring or cause any issues except in using the clutch lever. A well known common cheap mod is wiring in a resistor in the hand grip that will do the same thing, which puts both the high and low beams on at the same time(when the high beam is switched on). This frees your left hand to work the lever and gives great light at night. Power consumption goes up but my bike goes on a battery tender after each ride. I have not tested to see if the charging system can keep up when not placed on a battery tender. I have bought a H4 LED drop in replacement which I have not installed. I am thinking that the way its high beam works is that when the high beam switch is used it powers an additional 1-2 LEDS so that all of them are on...so no holding the yellow passing lever or resistor needed. Power usage is less than standard low beam. I'm doing gaiters, YSS fork rebuild, motone headlight bracket, etc. and saving the blub swap for all that.

    Great Mods. Probably the ones that I would choose with the exception of the Taillight. I still prefer the LED Taillight from TEC Bike Parts. Are you going to look at fitting Fork Gaiters? I think that they give the Bike a 'Beefed-up' look.
    I love the Black LSL Bars as I'm not a fan of the standard braced bar as I feel that they make the cockpit far too busy.
    You've done a great job of your Interceptor. Previous to your posts, I've been taking my ideas from TEC Bike parts and from the infamous Stuart Fillingham, but you've taken your Interceptor to a new level and you've done it so quickly. I've really enjoyed your videos. Great Job.

    Merely f.y.i in case you are interested.?
    Hitchcocks now have back in stock, big bore stainless steel header pipes. These will unleash the full potential of your combined dna hi flow filter & end can combo. Reason being dna & scorpion are high flow whilst oem downpipes are restricted diameter, with cats inbuilt. These hitchcocks pipes are full bore, decat and so, complete the free flow 'circuit'. They are polished bright, made in England and come complete w/ copper crush sealing washers.
    I've just installed them and, my bike has a slightly uplifted audio presence (over my own tec cannon end cans). Its subtly more responsive too. But that extra audio burble is most pleasing. Oh, as they're big bore, they're colouring up beautifully within 10 miles. Bonus!! Hurry though if interested, they sell like proverbial hot cakes....

      @@WildlifeMoto Thank-you, it's nice to hear the info was of interest. I'm looking forward to seeing them on your machine. You won't need me to tell you they are beautifully made, afterall they're by Hitchcocks. Anything they do you know you can 'take it to the bank.'
      The only really fiddling bit of fitting (for me) was keeping the crush washers in place during fitment. Easily overcome, using age old fix by using a dob of grease, which soon burns away harmlessly.
      Cheers 👍

    Very nice choices, except those side covers. A fail on a couple of levels. The "vents" are worthless, use silver fasteners, and they don't find any sympathetic lines from the bike's design in anything (too thick and bad angle); and the requirement to move the toolkit is inexcusable. The rest of the choices give the Int an overall more upscale, quality look. Thanks for putting this together.

But in the stock tail light the wiring is housed inside the bracket module, whereas the Baak light bracket is exposed and open. I assume you have put the wiring connections under the mudguard? Since you obviously spent a lot of time on the Baak website weren’t you tempted to add one of their leather seats? The stock INT seat isn’t particularly comfortable and, in my opinion, is rather ugly. The only reason I haven’t replaced mine yet is because I’d like to be certain the Baak seat is suitable for long rides before I drop that much money. (I’m tempted to buy their short seat kit and chop the frame but of course that would void the RE warranty.) Thanks for the tips-I’ve already got the Motone headlight bracket and M-Blaze pins. I went for the TEC Stinger exhaust because I love the 2-into-1 look and enhanced performance. The finish isn’t spectacular but it’s well made and I like the raw, no nonsense look of it. It’s also significantly cheaper than the price of a Baak seat.

    Have just discovered your channel and subscribed. Really enjoying your work. I'm about to upgrade from my first bike (2010 Suzuki GS500) and I'm down the rabbit hole of trying to watch everything I can about the RE Interceptor. I'm a tall guy (191cm) and I'll want to put risers on the 650... how much play is in the stock cables to put a decent-sized set of risers on? Or do you reckon I'll need to change cables? Keep up the great work! Cheers!

      @WildlifeMoto  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Damien. Thanks for subscribing and good luck with your purchase. You should be fine with the stock cables if you add something like my Motone Customs risers. If you add wider bars too then you’ll run out of length. Some reroute the cables behind the forks (not ideal) or you can buy extended cables from BAAK or Hitchcocks.

      @lowman5000 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WildlifeMoto Thanks for the reply, mate! I'd probably stick with the stock handlebars (for the time being) so hopefully cable length won't be an issue should I put risers on (once I actually get around to buying the bike). Hope you're doing okay over there in lockdown and stay upright!

    Cool vid and mods, WM. How is the visibility on those mirrors? I loathe my stock mirrors. On paper it would seem they'd be fine (aside from the aesthetics), as they are big enough, but they're wobbly enough that I cannot see anything in them, and the bike is a low-vibration bike. I'd be fine with smaller mirrors, like yours, if I net more visibility. Thank you in advance for your thoughts.

    • @WildlifeMoto
      @WildlifeMoto  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly, they are on the small side. You do get a good view of the road behind you, but bigger would be better. For me these strike a balance of style and functionality, but if you want better visibility I would get something bigger.

    I never liked the Interceptor 650. Its drab looks is what put me off from buying it. But the mods you have added truly add that personalized taste to the bike. It looks totally different from its mainstream creation. Really love the character the mods gave to the bike. I loved both the headlight bracket and the simplistic tail light touch. But the looks you added to the side panels truly give is a disciplined metallic feel. From India with Love!

      @@WildlifeMoto - My Norton Commando with the clip-on bars had a very "resistive" clutch pull. I found that just a simple cable re-route that *maximized the radius* of the turns on the way to the clutch arm greatly reduced the friction. In addition, the substitution of a custom-made *teflon-coated clutch cable* further reduced the friction, the end result being a feeling that the clutch arm was at the handle bar.
