I remember one incident where the developers forgot to trademark the game so someone registered it. Then they just gave it to them. Imagine making a game so bad that when someone lucks out and gets the chance to make a boatload of money off of it, they full on refuse.
The person never actually filed the trademark either, they addmitted it was just a joke after people began pointing out how long it would have taken to actually apply for a copyright to the time it gets accepted
I wish they'd. You know. Hired an actual voice actor. But then they'd have to pay them a reasonable rate and probably compy with union rules, so they're not gonna do that
Ngl this game is my biggest guilty pleasure. I haven't bought or played it myself but I really enjoy watching other people play it. It's just really cool to see people actively doing something they want to do and learning how to do it, which shows in every improved chapter. It's still dumb as hell and not a perfect game but it's improving. I'm a perfectionist who has a really difficult time actually doing things I'd like to do because I wont be good at the beginning, so it's aspirational and helpful to witness someone doing what I struggle with.

As someone who joined a mascot horror project that was initially created out of spite for Garten of Banban, this video was… weirdly touching? Like, despite all the flaws of the Banban games (and the primal hatred my boss has for them), I’ve made TONS of connections with people thanks to this game. Even though I’ve become frustrated with the current state of Banban’s story, I’m forever grateful for the opportunities this weird little game gave me. Heck, I even fulfilled my dream of joining a group where everyone works on the same project!

I never disliked BanBan because it was bad (even though it was), I personally disliked BanBan because I thought it was a scam. A way to trick people into paying for a shitty experience. But after watching your videos, and watching the series slowly but steadily evolve, I can say that it was never a scam. This game series is the game development journey of the Euphoric Brothers, and we can see they’re getting better. By the time we get Garten of BanBan XX, it’s going to be an amazing game, horror or not

A thing you might have missed is that when you play the music in that one area, it actually references a ost from a mobile game that the Euphoric Brothers made called "Garten of Banban Punch Rush" (ngl the music is kind of a bop)
Garten of Ban Ban is such a fascinating beast to look at in real time. It's actually a record of two amateur game developers growing and improving as people and as game makers. From a first game that was sloppy, boring, with a barebones plot, and surrounded by the drama of the developers being unable to take any criticism, the games have slowly evolved into decent and varied experiences and the devs have grown into more mature people that can handle and learn from criticism. The games are no masterpieces by any means, and they are still quite clunky. But the journey of improvement is very clear. I hope that by the end of the series of games, we get a game that can be called not just decent or respectable, but actually good.
Poppy chapter 1 released and was kinda meh, as well as chapter 2 which also was pretty meh. Banban replicated that to start and became the face of ruining mascot horror. Then that made games like Poppy realize they need to do better which led to the amazing Chapter 3. And now the success of Poppy Chapter 3 is encouraging more devs to do better, including Banban. Absolutely wonderful to think about where we are now
I'm so glad you buried the hatchet. You maturing about this series is a great example for everyone. I'm so happy that people like you and me went from hating the Banban franchise to loving it. Your positive points were the best form of criticism by showing how to do things right. You pointed out how they did well compared to how they did wrong in the previous games.
May i also add that the term.. or rather the joke "bird up" is also in Eric andre.. one of his older episodes but it is in it.. so yeah... (please dont get angry at me)
So, I don't know if this is just in the video recordings, but I noticed that the little reticle in the center of the screen throughout the playtime is not actually perfectly centered. It is aligned to the left side of the screen a fair amount and it is driving me insane.
That whole non horror games being inspired by horror is a good point because like one of my favorite games of all time bioshock isnt considered a horror game yet you can tell from the get go it has horror elements throughout.
I will give props to the brothers for actually taking criticism to heart and being more open to their vocal critics such as yourself. I also like that they don't seem to be taking the game seriously like they did at the start - they acknowledge how much of a meme the IP is and are running with that rather than pretend that they're making a groundbreaking story. That still doesn't make me forgive them for their poorly optimized models though. Maybe the newer chapters are better about it, but holy hell those first couple chapters were horrendous.

I never disliked BanBan because it was bad (even though it was), I personally disliked BanBan because I thought it was a scam. A way to trick people into paying for a shitty experience. But after watching your videos, and watching the series slowly but steadily evolve, I can say that it was never a scam. This game series is the game development journey of the Euphoric Brothers, and we can see they’re getting better. By the time we get Garten of BanBan XX, it’s going to be an amazing game, horror or not
If the devs are actually putting effort to improve the games then that's a very hopeful future for it

Garten of Ban Ban is such a fascinating beast to look at in real time. It's actually a record of two amateur game developers growing and improving as people and as game makers.
From a first game that was sloppy, boring, with a barebones plot, and surrounded by the drama of the developers being unable to take any criticism, the games have slowly evolved into decent and varied experiences and the devs have grown into more mature people that can handle and learn from criticism.
The games are no masterpieces by any means, and they are still quite clunky. But the journey of improvement is very clear.
I hope that by the end of the series of games, we get a game that can be called not just decent or respectable, but actually good.

Poppy chapter 1 released and was kinda meh, as well as chapter 2 which also was pretty meh. Banban replicated that to start and became the face of ruining mascot horror. Then that made games like Poppy realize they need to do better which led to the amazing Chapter 3. And now the success of Poppy Chapter 3 is encouraging more devs to do better, including Banban. Absolutely wonderful to think about where we are now

Your positive points were the best form of criticism by showing how to do things right. You pointed out how they did well compared to how they did wrong in the previous games.

So, I don't know if this is just in the video recordings, but I noticed that the little reticle in the center of the screen throughout the playtime is not actually perfectly centered. It is aligned to the left side of the screen a fair amount and it is driving me insane.

That whole non horror games being inspired by horror is a good point because like one of my favorite games of all time bioshock isnt considered a horror game yet you can tell from the get go it has horror elements throughout.

I will give props to the brothers for actually taking criticism to heart and being more open to their vocal critics such as yourself. I also like that they don't seem to be taking the game seriously like they did at the start - they acknowledge how much of a meme the IP is and are running with that rather than pretend that they're making a groundbreaking story.
That still doesn't make me forgive them for their poorly optimized models though. Maybe the newer chapters are better about it, but holy hell those first couple chapters were horrendous.
