1/8th mile Showdown!! Yamaha Fz-07 VS Suzuki Gladius SFV 650

- So here it is, 1/8th mile drag racing with 2 bike that are almost perfectly matched. I'm riding my suzuki and my brother is riding his yamaha. Filmed a eddyville raceway, Iowa
Both real world perfect bikes considering performance, fuel use, weight and fun. Just keep in mind that sv650 engine is 20 years older than the one on the mt07, sv650 is heavier also but can still keep up with Yamaha or even beat it...
2018 SV650 owner.. First bike I ever bought. Still have it and love it ! Don't know everything about it but, what I do know...is apparent in this video.. The way the power is set up on the SV, it allows you to really use it while keeping that front wheel on the ground. That Yamaha kicks up, then goes, then tapers off...while the SV is just pushing, both wheels glued.

Very close but the mt07 is scary when launching because the front end is too light and it almost flipped twice

brother vs brother battle, he got his launch figured out after a couple passes and i couldn’t touch him after that haha
idk if my dude on the fz knows how to launch his bike bc i roll out on sv650s on me 07 lol
Thats my brother on his new fz07, if you watch the end, he ends up getting it dialed in and lays down a time that I couldn't touch on my Gladius

@@1up_doug all good! The yamaha fz series are excellent bikes and respond well to upgrades too, I dont care what kinda bike im riding, its always a good time👍🏼

@@StoversMotors what was your best speed? Curious because I just bought a new Yamaha mt 07. My best speed in the eighth so far is 85 mph. Stock bike and 226 lb crippled rider.
@@saxon1177 Lol, official specs show you power and torque at one point in RPM range. SV has better torque curve
The Yamaha seems more rambunctious.
