    Urban's take that J.J. McCarthy has to play exceptional football for Michigan to have a chance against Iowa is laughable. UM could win this game running the wildcat with Donovan Edwards.

      While it's not true for Iowa, it will be true for the playoffs. Don't want to play from behind against Georgia or Oregon.

    That whole Romans TD couldn’t have gone either way was just to placate to the OSU fan base.
    Ball caught 2 steps knee down across the plane. Nothing else matters. He knows it and if it were OSU who scored on that it would have been the greatest pitch and catch of all time.

      Yep! Incredible vision and execution. JJ said during an interview that after studying game film, OSU's safety #25 never looks back at the QB after he looks away!

    • @alans3845
      @alans3845 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      25 doesn’t spin around towards the receiver and he has a pick! It was a poor choice by JJ in too tight a spot…but he got lucky just like McCord did on his last pass at Notre Dame. Too bad Urban didn’t critique 25 - Malik Hartford- freshy😮! McCords first pick was a textbook rookie mistake. CB has inside leverage, Marvin makes a lazy cut and McCord throws it right to the DB. Game came down to a rookie QB vs a Senior QB. Rest of the game was good rivalry football. As a Buckeye fan, I have to admit the better team won.

    Wilson touchdown...JJ tries to look off 25, doesn't budge. From film study, JJ understood 25 turns his back when he looks at the receiver, all Rom had to do is stack the DB. Which he did, even called for the ball simultaneously. If JJ could deal with the pressure there was a small window when the spy/robber was vulnerable only after Rom winning on route, and also 25 not going for being looked off. Magnificent pass, people think he just threw a dart wherever. JJ and Roman understood everything that went into that touchdown.

  • @bguman
    @bguman 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    Clearly a Roman Wilson TD.

  • @Professional-fh1ow
    @Professional-fh1ow 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

    Even Urb is haning on to that play. The pylon to pylon pic CLEARLY shows Roman Wilson has COMPLETE not SHARED control of the ball when he croses the plane. Anywhere else on the field of play it may have been overturned also may not have but in the end zone it was a TD. Everyone except buckeye fans and players want to believe otherwise. Wolverines could've equally complained about the last minute drive catch and fumble not called and if we'd lost we may have as well but thats game people, its over.

    • @alex7171
      @alex7171 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah, my understanding is that if you have control at all at any point in the end zone, it's a TD. Even if you just temporarily put the tip of the ball over the goal line. And Wilson clearly had the ball wrapped up as he went over the goal line.

      I think those Orji running plays were designed to put something on tape so that future opponents could get fooled into thinking he’s an automatic runner at QB. Dude has a cannon. He’s so talented they could use him almost anywhere in the offense. He’s built like a linebacker. He’s swoll AF. 6’3” 235. He could play any of the offensive skill positions including TE. He’s a cheat code.

    • @alex7171
      @alex7171 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, I've been thinking they'll probably have him run at least once against Alabama, and also throw at least once. Possibly give him an option. But if he can get some yards running the first time out (as he likely will), and they put him in again in a later quarter, Alabama will presumably be looking for another run, which may enable a receiver to get open.
      In fact, this is the only reason I can think that of they had Orji do two runs in a row -- to cement his status as a runner in the eyes of observers. (Quite understandably, he got little/no yardage on the second effort.)

    • @alex7171
      @alex7171 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jefformsby5604 I'm looking forward to some deep trickeration involving Edwards, Orji, and J.J. They can all presumably throw the ball. (We know Edwards and Orji can.) And the QB is an eligible receiver, so a flea-flicker could go from one QB (or Edwards) to another QB.
      I could see J.J. being the receiver because nobody expects him to be. And some creativity would be very helpful against a team like Alabama.

    I think Urban Meyer‘s analysis of the game of football as 100 yard war but 10 yard battles is not only exactly correct, but perhaps the reason football is such an amazing game. Within the war we have the battles. It’s fun to win the battles, and it takes a lot of of strategically won battles to win the war.

We need to understand just how much can be piled on the plates of these young men with school, personal lives and problems etc. We just don't know and yet we expect them to perform with the consistency of autonomous androids. JJ wasn't effective either though right? the ball just threw itself right the ball snap back from the center and ran 10 yards when they when it needed it all by itself on a quarterback sneak except we're not going to call it a quarterback sneak we're going to call it a football Standalone sneak😆dude you're about as delusional as they come and winning a game no problem means like two or three scores so why wasn't you guys able to overcome the two turnovers if you're so confident that you could have won a no problem? you want me to tell you why I'll save you the time because you didn't win it with no problem...........
