Taff, try using the wyrens with the rockets (not the red angels) as they carry alot more, and save the torps for large convoys where bigger ships stuggle to dodge tem. Great series so far and looking forward to see how it pans out!
I’ve been watching this channel when I was around 12 or younger. I’m hitting 18 now and want to thank you for being such a great part of my teenage years. Ps: I’d love to see more mighty 8th content, that’s how I discovered your channel when I was going through my crazy B17 obsession. (still kinda am lmao) 😁
I think another carrier is the best bet because like the war in the Pacific, carriers are very handy. I think either the Illustrious, implacable or Malta class
Might I suggest leapfrogging the supplies, engineering and fuel from west to east. Just a couple of supply ships between each point. Would make it much quicker to get supplies and troops to the east of it’s always chugging along in the background.
Dear Taff: Konigsberg was the capital of German East Prussia until the end of WW2. It's pronounced KO - nigs - burg. The Russians renamed it Kaliningrad. I still think that two battlecruisers, a carrier, a couple of light cruisers (including a Dido class for AAA) and 4-6 destroyers would be a good fast hunter killer group for hunting Axis cruisers and destroyers. The carrier needs to provide a suitable CAP. Hermes is not suitable as she doesn't have fighters, only Swordfish. The saying for Battlecruisers is that they were fast enough to chase anything that they could kill, yet fast enough to run away from anything that could kill them. If you have a battleship with a Battlecruiser, you can't run away without abandoning the battleship. If you're not running away, then you want two battleships together. If you do get another battleship and a battlecruiser, you would be better off doing a fleet transfer so that the two battlecruisers are together and the two battleships are together. Just a thought. It really bothers me that there's all of those Axis ships floating around in the Gulf of Sirte and close to Malta. Please molest the buggers with extreme prejudice as soon as it is practical. 😂😂😂❤❤❤😂😂😂 Either way, this version of War on the Sea is definitely the most fun. I can't wait for the next episode. ❤❤❤
Great episode, Taff. You could kill a uboat with a strong breeze in this mod. At least the torpedoes are realistic as they malfunctioned all the time in real life 😂😂
Those Spitfires in the first air battle did not attack Doras, they attacked TA-152s. You can tell by the length of the wings. Those planes were designed to get up to higher altitudes and shoot down B-29s.
With that u boat kill + the second one + the mechanics might just be very accurate as the actual thing was to aim at the water in front of the target and the rockets would ‘swim’ and puncture the pressure hull under the waterline
Not Fw-190 Doras, Taff. They were Ta-152 high altitude interceptors. Your torpedo attacks with the Wyverns are more miss than hit. Perhaps you really need to wet nurse those manually to up the success rate. Your Wyverns are also armed with cannons and you can also strafe the enemy ships. Your rocket attacks are much more successful than your torpedoes and your Beaufighters and Hornets are heavily armed with cannons for strafing.
Why don't you use the planes from Greece at all? Or are they not yet replenished? From there, the distance to many detected ships/convoys is shorter...
Wyvern has a "double" capacity of RP8 rockets, unless you expect heavy cruisers/battleships/transports, i would NOT choose a torpedo armament... rockets can sink ships too (not battleships), if in good number, but torpedoes (especiall if not used manually) are unprobable to hit destroyers/light cruisers...
I think carriers arent worth it in this mod . So many land bases in range to provide air cover . Points better spent on more surface hitters and supply convoys

Those Wyverns drop their torpedos so early!!!
great adventure love this series.

Hydra radio in Camp X intercepted a u boat transmission in the Med and sent planes to go sink it.
Great episode. A strong sneeze might be enough to take out Uboats in this mod.
Wyverns persist in dropping torps at long range. Wonder how they would do with rockets? Good stuff by those Spitfire pilots!
Also Taff, your Wyverns,Beaufighters and Hornets have powerful cannons too. Strafe enemy ships with them.
thank you Taff, that was a good sortie and a lot of Torpedos, I wished they'd launched them closer to the ships

I did my masters on the Mediterranean in WWII. Just sayin’. (It was on Pedestal if interested:)
Nice! What was your argument?
Those Focke-Wulfs are actually not Doras - they're Ta 152s.
Is the arming distance for the torps really that long? It seems you could paddle a DD out of the way with the advance warning.
With the fins on the back they seem to be the late war British homing torpedoes they had massive range but weren't very reliable as it was new tech
I think carriers arent worth it in this mod . So many land bases in range to provide air cover . Points better spent on more surface hitters and supply convoys
Vs having a cap constantly over your ships? In a large enough quantity to do something worthwhile? CV’s are absolutely indispensable!
You either always miss or lose planes when you try to torpedo thier ships?
Wyvern and torpedoes? Why Vern!!! Best to send the Beaufighters with rockets for DD IMO.
