- Hi all, we will be taking a look at pombruv's Early Mediterranean campaign for War on the Sea.
We will command the Allied forces as we look to secure Malta and take control of the Mediterranean from the joint Italian and German Forces!

ABOUT THE MOD
This mod is NOT historically accurate.
If you are looking for a historically accurate mod with all the right ships and planes then you are out of luck I'm afraid. This mod isn't it - and never will be. Think of it as a fictional account based very loosely on actual events, a bit like most Hollywood war movies.
It is just intended to be a bit of fun so that we can spend some time pitting the British against the Italians and Germans with a little bit of USA thrown in later. This is just a series of opportunities to blow stuff up and have lots of battles - and that's it really.
Also, I have only a limited number of ships and planes I have been given permission to use so rather than just have Allied and Axis forces comprising 3 or 4 accurate ships/planes of the correct period, I've bunged them all in together just so you have plenty of things to blow up - and plenty of things to blow other things up with.
So ignore history like I have. Just go: Boom! Crash! Whizz! Brrrrrt! Sploosh! - and have fun for fun's sake. Forget immersion, it's just a game.
But, if you really, really, need historical accuracy then I believe a new more historically accurate Atlantic mod is on the way. There is also a similarly accurate Mediterranean mod in the pipeline too. I recommend you wait for them, I'm sure they will be much better mods anyway :)
A Sea State of 5 or 6 and torpedoes run under ships. The smaller the ship, the higher the chance. Also, break up your planes and have them attack individually. This will both increase your attack odds and if the leader is shot down, the others wont follow them into the water.
Level bomber has the highest hit rate when its course is along the length of the target.
I think the B-17's can extend their range by taking fewer bombs.
I like to see a good back and forth in a campaign.

Taff I think for Malta, I think you might need to buy some subs to deal with those huge convoys

I'd have a submarine at every choke point on the map. If nothing else, they will provide early warning of incoming enemy shipping. They might even sink stuff.
The game is weird regarding the Beaufighter attacks. In reality they were deadly.

TAF despite how successful your swordfish attack was I highly recommend next time you just do one massive attack with the swordfish make sure they're spread out so Flack don't hit multiple at once but splitting them up just makes them easier targets doing them one after the other

Try claiming the netural ports in eastern med with few destroyers to run troops to them for the points and resources
Also if you drop from 10k ft although less effective, you can avoid the machine gun AA fire
I would love for someone to make a submod for this like the expanded arsenal mod that adds all sorts of extra ships and aircraft

Why not attack from the stern with the rockets? Then the elevation error would be such an issue?

Ah...yes italian destroyers not being utterly destroyed just after 1 torpedo...that seems right for this game...made out of Romanium...
Why attack the bases when there are so many ships to kill? Also send scouts with bombs or torpedoes like they do ….

It’s very easy to miss entirely if you’re launching a salvo down the length of the ship. If it hits, you get a lot more damage. But the trade-off is that you often don’t get any damage at all. It’s a boom/bust tactic.

They're definitely not 110s; the tail section is wrong. The 110 had a twin tail fin. Those are Messerschmitt Me-210s which were intended as the replacement for the 110, which had taken a real beating during the Battle Of Britain. The Germans also had an Me-410 "Hornisse" later in the war, which resembled, but was inferior to the British De Havilland DH103 Hornet, the little sister of the more famous Mosquito.
