Doing computer tutorials, I use Filmora pan and zoom frequently! This gave me some really creative new ideas to make my videos flow better. Thanks as always, Daniel!
Daniel. I’ve been using Filmora (for Mac) for years and use the crop and zoom LOADS BUT even I couldn’t follow that with just a single watch. So good for you for getting people to watch multiple times. However, did you actually show the results of all that work or did I miss something?
The opening shot is actually the final product. Everything up to the CTA. You're not the first person to have overlooked that. Must be so smooth that you don't even realize how much work goes into it! (That's what I'm going to tell myself, anyhow)
Haha! Owen Video said the same thing to me the other day! I usually get Tom Araya or Serj Tankian but... yeah, I can totally see that I kind of have a Penn vibe.
Fantastic! I remember when I first started using Filmora and I'd create a zoom in one shot and then think, "Well now how am I suppose to exactly replicate the crop where I ended in the last shot and go from there?" The answer was obviously much simpler than I had thought, just a little difficult to explain to someone who has never done it before.
@@Daniel_Batal you definitely broke it down in a good way. Better than I can. I shared this video with my comic book Facebook group so they can see the simplicity of it. And of course a few group members are struggling with trying to decide on an editor and of course I try to show they dont need to buy a $300 editor to make a good video.
Thank you kindly, Justin. Not sure if I explained this one well. It's a simple process but I've confused a few people trying to explain it in writing. Figured a video might work better
Hej Hej Daniel! Thank you for another follow up... this is brilliant as always... Another keeper in my tutorial folder from you! Take care and look forward to your next...
Took me a forever to figure that out when I first started. I would cut a piece of footage, put in my Pan & Zoom and then I'd want to start the next piece of footage from where the last one left off and I had no idea how to match it up. It always was a little bit off. Then I stopped being stupid. It doesn't happen often but, I have my moments.
Daniel Batal I was struggling with the same thing. But I will struggle no more thanks to you. It’s always a good feeling when we stop being stupid even if it briefly haha
Agreed, Israel! I think I’m going to do this particular one a little more in depth in a live stream so that I can really show people how to play with the zoom features and take questions all at the same time
Excellent idea. While I might not want to pan and zoom that much on a single frame this method will come in handy. I wish you had included the end result of what you did. While I can sort of picture what was happing actually seeing the results would have been interesting.
I never pan and zoom that much on a single shot either, it was just an example for teaching purposes. The end result plays at the very beginning of the video and again the end with the words ‘“Here’s the result” on screen.
Filmora fans have been beating up the company to add two things: Key Frames and Motion Capture. They just started rolling out key frames into the audio portion of Filmora 9. It's in some of the text overlay of Filmora PRO but alas, we're all still waiting for the full applications. I will say, it took my all of 3 minutes to apply every one of those movements. Key-framing tends to be slower, at least when I do it in the other Key Frame based editing software I use. (I'm also pretty old... it could be just old guy disease)
so basically you recorded your screen, edited the footage for the tutorial, recorded your screen again, and than edited the final video? lol man that's awesome.
Interesting - Filmora has been really similar to elements up till now but this is super different.... or at least its different to how I do it, I might be doing it wrong
Such a great tutorial - thank you, Daniel! Question - I've tried zooming (using the Pan & Zoom) or the (Crop) and it doesn't seem to move as fast as yours does. Is there a duration setting I need to change somewhere? Thank you!
@@Daniel_Batal How do I shorten the slice without losing the content? In other words, I need the total time to be the same, just change the amount of time zooming? I've clipped the video when trying to do this.
Yeah, the old PIP (picture in picture) tracks were a real pain. They limited what you can do with each track. If you computer can support it, I'd definitely recommend updating to the new Version 9.2. You same license applies and it's a much better software that allows you to apply all transitions and effects to every track. No more PIP

Is there no other way to tell the zoom feature how long the zooming should last till the end point, stay there and later by doing another zooming go back to the whole picture again? I have tried to zoom in, by cutting the video in two. And cutting the first section to the duration, that works good for me. But than I realized, the zoomed picture will not stand, so I made a screenshot...But when I have done so, I just realized, oh no how can I zoom out again...???
