I clearly remember the BBC broadcast of La Boheme from Covent Garden, about 1980. NS was a wonderful Rodolfo. You font ever forget performances like that. His singing, like here, had a unique freedom. So good.
Saw him sing the role in 2005 with Soprano Aprile Millo and Sam Ramey as Scarpia in Chicago, he also sang it in several other places, like Calif. late 1980's and of course Europe as here.
