Our BIGGEST MISTAKE when we were waiting for our Canada PR 🧐

  • We take you to the beautiful Oakville and talk about our biggest mistakes that we made when we were waiting for our PR - and that costed me 4 months of unemployment.

We don't like immigration agents - the ones' that aren't authorized by ICCRC and qualified to help you with your application in exchange for money - first of all, it's not legal to do that, and second of all, it's so easy that you don't really need paid help! We are a young couple who started their Canadian Immigration journey in 2018 and moved to Canada 3 days before the pandemic hit in March 2020. Over the course of our application, we have seen so many people getting screwed over by greedy / fraudulent and unauthorized immigration consultants who promise you the world in exchange for thousands of dollars and deliver a whole lot of NOTHING; to an extent that in many cases, the applications get rejected, due to their negligence.
Therefore, we are taking matters in our own hands. After months of research and our own experience of applying for a Canadian PR, we came up with an e-book series & this TH-cam channel which would include - errors to avoid, perfect sample documents (my own) and alternate ways of immigrating to Canada - 100 pages of absolute goldmine between these 3 e-books - no filters, no premium versions to these ebooks... everything is out there FOR FREE, for you to read and execute the process yourself! All we are doing in these ebooks is sharing our experience of applying for PR ourselves / structuring and pointing you in the right direction via various different resources that are available on IRCC's official website. The TH-cam channel will compliment the e-book and add some personality and entertainment to the entire process :-)
Volume 1: Step by step express entry process from know nothing about immigration all the way to getting an invitation to apply (ECA, IELTS etc). Download here - www.potatotalk...
Volume 2: Post ITA express entry process - documentation, samples, POF, Proof of work, medical, biometrics all the way to getting a stamped passport ;-) Download here - www.potatotalk...
Volume 3: Alternate ways of moving to canada | Provincial Nominee program - OINP, AINP, MPNP, NSNP, SINP, RNIP and more. Download here - www.potatotalk...

And one more thing. Even if we have to do a survival job after being a manager in India it's still ok. We learn a lot and it gives us an opportunity to see the other side. No job is a bad job :)

Great thoughts. I think the point that hits the hardest is that a lot of us have never been not in a job. I came in mid-December thinking I would enjoy the new year and set a February timeline for myself to get a job. But as days passed after new year, and I was not getting the right things, everything started creeping in. Spending 2500 to 3000 CAD each month is not easy when you are making 0. Calling it a once in a lifetime opportunity to take a break/vacation also fades after a point. So it is important to keep positivity around you and start prepping up early.

We are on our ECA stage right now.
I have got my degrees from kurukshetra and ggsip university. So we opted for WES. I will be the primary applicant.
My husband being the secondary applicant has his degrees from MDU and Amity university. WES might not consider his MBA from Amity as post graduate. Kindly suggest should we go for IQAS that will take a lot more time. Or we should go with WES only.. thanks a ton in advance.

I don't think if one gets a visa now then he or she should wait for next year. Firstly the 17000CAD (approx) has to be kept in the account and I am seeing CAD to INR difference growing. Secondly people can't take new assignment in home country because of time commitment issue. Thirdly, since one has to submit experience letter from employer, the HR already knows that you have applied for PR and the growth and Bonus is anyways decreased.

BLUNT! But HONEST! Straight forward and totally makes sense. My husband and I've started the certifications whilst waiting to move there.. someday soon🤞. Yes, trying to be quite active on LinkedIn, connecting with honest intention to make a real connection and just not for a job opportunity. However, it's been not a great success. I appreciate who ever has accepted to connect back, but I dont see any conversations happening beyond it. Yes, they might be verh busy, but once in a while response would be good to connect further. Ur take and suggestion on this? Thank for the encouragement and positivity always. Definitely helps us. Appreciate it. 👍🤗

Hey guys, just looking for an advice from your end. I had ONIP invitation for which I submitted my file in October. It has now been almost 8 months since my file submission and there is no update from IRCC's end. I heard that PNP nominations in pre-covid times moved faster than FSWs. What is the reality and when will Canada start issuing COPR again ? They are still issuing but it is significantly less. I understand things are moving in right direction for Canada in terms of COVID.

I know this question is not related to the video but I will be obliged if you answer this. My brother in law secured Canadian PR and went to Canada, he came back last year for a month and then lockdown happened and there were no flights, he remained in india for almost 9 months as his company in Canada said work from home is fine and they will ask him to come when necessary. Are those 9 months going to get considered in his PR time period? As he was paying taxes and also his company itself told him to stay and as soon as they asked him to come back he went. Do you have any idea if this can be considered or not. Anyone else reading this comment is also welcome to leave useful information. Thank you

I think it won’t be considered. You have to stay in canada for it to count towards citizenship

It’d be considered as time spent and is eligible for his PR renewal but NOT for Canadian citizenship should he wishes to apply when he becomes eligible.

@Potato Talkies - Canada thanks to both of you for such an informative videos.
I also have two more questions
    1. I have applied for my Master degree in wes and paid around 220 CAD. My question is do I need to apply for my graduation separately for wes or included in the same fee. I only have to pay to both universities separately for transcript verification.
    2. Another question is for my husband who did b. Tech and MBA.
But he applied only for b. tech for wes, so do he need to apply for 2nd time for wes for his MBA separately and pay 220CAD again?

    • @Potatotalkies
      @Potatotalkies  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      1. You should have done it together in 1 application. If you have already applied for masters in Wes, you will have to pay again to get bachelors.
      2. Yes.. always apply for both!
Pls follow our ebooks for this process related info. I guess you have been misguided a little :)

Guys even your bluntness is delivered in the most polite manner but whatever you said was to the point and absolutely true. I wanted to know that how an Indian lawyer can search for jobs from India itself even jobs like a legal clerk, legal assistant or even a paralegal through which a person can at least survive till clearing the barrister and solicitor exam after which he/she will become legally qualified to work in Canada. I know you guys are do not belong to the legal fraternity and have still have made a video with shireen and lovedeep but if you can also approach some other solicitor or barrister who has faced such hurdles of job search in the legal field then it will be helpful for a plethora of advocates/aspirants.
And guys thank you so much for the work that you have been doing. For me you two are by far the best couples and TH-cam vloggers...
